Overview:
Bat Rider is a game in the vein of old school Arcade/Atari games. Simple, straight forward, and for some, horribly addicting. You play as a Wizard riding a, you guessed it, Bat whose only goal in life is to soar the skies and shoot fireballs and generally fuck up anybodies day it comes across. Balloons, witches, birds, no one is safe.

Gameplay:
As with most arcade style games, gameplay is simple. You tap a button to keep the Bat afloat and dodge projectiles, all the while tapping a button to shoot fireballs to defend yourself and clear a path through hordes of enemies to fly past. High Score is calculated by the amount and types of enemies you kill and it gives you an option to upload said score online after you die, letting you know how badly you suck compared to the rest of the world.

While the gameplay does what it is suppose to, and despite its clunkyness is something you also get used to, I can't help but feel this game could have been much much more. If the flying was tweaked to be a bit more smooth and responsive and power ups for different projectiles were dropped by enemies, this game would've been ultra badass. Not saying it isn't already badass, but that would've given it that extra mile. Uploading High Scores brings back memories of countless hours spent on Snake. :V

Score: 4/5

Music/Graphics:
Since there is not much else to review, I'll combine the only other two things I can think of, and this game does not err in that regard. Music fits and loops perfectly, and the graphics fit this game without a problem, and give you that old school arcade feel. 'NUFF SAID!

Score: 5/5

Summary:
Bat Rider is a fun game to kill some time with, and will definitely strike a chord with those who love retro style gaming. It pulls off what it sets out to do, but could've been a game with much much more to offer.

That is why this game Receives a 4/5 roses on my Compassion meter.
