Poorly made system a character is above the menu 0/5 work on it!
It's a stylistic effect, not an error.
I think he means the man in Brown with spikey orange hair, but I actually get right away that you are showing who is selected and choosing what action to take. Since the same character is up in the battle, this is what I assume anyway. Maybe you could Cut off his head and place it Next to the HP. So you can tell whose turn it is, but it wont look like a random NPC out of place.

My question is about the yellow arrows. Why are they all there? If its a selection menu, wouldnt you just select the one item, and move the arrow as you select new ones?
Yeah that's probably it. Answer to both questions is laziness. I made this game before I spammed pictures, meaning those selection arrows are events. Bad design on my part. (And probably for the guy's head too). This needs some serious navigation graphics improvements if I ever get around to remaking this.
I hate critics. A game should be judged 2 stars on plot, 2 on how it works, 0/5 over something stupid like battle screen, cmon. A game is judged on how it works. I couldn't get a item thing to work if I tried, so that's automatically good.

Put a graphic box around the guy. That kinda would make it so you know it's a selection (especially if you also have the name there).
This is odd. I can see the characters HP displayed at the top here but when I played the game it was not there.
