I've rewrote this game in MZ and also made it available as Android download for smartphones. You can download the demo from Itch.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/widget/2193990/
Itch: https://lamonade.itch.io/monster-hunters-frost-giant
YouTube video: https://youtu.be/BdCVxfLuJdA

Money don't just appear from monsters here. A monster hunter's job is to capture monsters and sell them for money. As all monsters are different, the price for them are different too. The harder to catch, the more valuable they are.

Follow the main characters in their journey to become one of the worlds best Monster Hunters. Meet new and interesting characters on the way. Help a person in-need or maybe not! You decide. Your decision will either make your journey easier or harder.

Hate battles, then just skip them with the MR50 (Monster Repellent)! But over use it and you shall loose out in experience points which will hurt later in the game.

Camouflaged enemies, Grave keepers, Lava Dragons, come meet them all in Monster Hunters: Frost Giant.

NOTE:
This is my 3rd game with lots of new add-on build in like quest log, monster repellent and monster book (which you will get later in the game). I've also tried adding alternate quest with different storyline depending on the option chosen but ultimately same ending.

Feel free to comment and give ideas on how to improve the game. Thanks.

I see you changed your picture at my request...another poor choice :)

Actually, I downloaded another of his games..HERO: Princess Pursuit and had a problem that one also. Might be his his computer or could me mine :)
Just set up my new Dell XPS 8700 and using Google Chrome with Windows 8.1 so it could be almost anything causing the problems but I am not getting problems with Vagabond...so far.. :)
Damn, I can't even get my old homepage to work on the new Google and all searches talk about a wrench and tools, neither of which is on the new Chrome :( oh, what am I to do ?? :(
I'll figure it out before 2015, I'm sure :)
God help me if I download RPG Ace and try to make a game of my own :) hahahahaha

It's a random error, a handful has complaint getting the error and most says no problem with the error. Some happens right after a battle, some right before. I tried so many ways of compiling it including removing scripts, adding scripts but still no results. I notice it's computer centric. It happened very often on my old laptop but not a single error in my new laptop. So honestly, I don't know what's the problem. Sorry, still no solution until today.
Hey I saw another game use this in the skill system thing I don't know if you wanna try it in future game projects but its you get these skills and each time you use them a certain amount of time they level up and become stronger but the more MP you plan to make the skills use you should make a concentration skill that restores certain amount of MP depending on the skill level of the skill itself
I got the error message "unable to find VL Gothic font". Is this common and can it be fixed?

Well, limsoonchiong. I finally finished. Sure would like to see a sequel or at least more games by you and your friends :)

Did a lot of grinding but then that is how I finish most games :)

Thanks for a great game.

PS I wound up with a BUNCH of those Fire Lizzards...NO ONE was willing to buy them from me :(
Also, got that dreaded RGSLL...error a bunch of times. Game would have been even better if I did not have to go back and redo many of the level ups :)

I would love to do a sequel since there has been a few request. But again, time and effort is very high for I'm not a real programmer, hence a lot of bugs and can't seem to get rid of the RGSLL error. I pretty much copy and paste anything I can find from the internet regarding scripts. So I'm not surprise there is lot of bugs and error. Wish I could write a cleaner game so that people can enjoy it better.
Hey i want to know about that treasure behind the tree too.. i can't seem to find it. is there really some treasure or is that guy just making stuff up because he's drunk?? :P plz plz tell me. i need to buy the best equipment coz i have to fight the giant now. thanx in advance..

EDIT:: Never mind i finished the game!! it was really good!! is there a sequel to this? coz i would definately play it!! Totally awesome!!!
Hey!

I think you should check your audio files. I'm fighting skeleton dragons and the music is from regular audio, but I can hear a battle music in the background. I think they're overlapping. I don't know if that is what causing the RGSLL error, but it might.

Aside from that annoying error, I enjoy the game very much. For one I love regular side view battle system, for me it's the most comfortable battle system, since it gives me time to think and strategize my next move. Secondly, I love the difficulty, not too difficult, not too easy. I only have to grind in order to buy new equipment, but the money is not that difficult to obtain.
The Bandits Cave was a little frustrating, because of paralyzing effect. There should have been an accessory for sale to counteract paralysis, or the effect should of wore out after 2 or 3 turns.

Anyway, once again, I wish there were more games like this. Good job. I think you have a knock for making games. So, please, continue making more games.
Ok, the funny thing, the overlapping music doesn't happen all the time. Right now I playing in the same area, and I get the battle music, not regular, so it changes all the time. Well check it out, who knows!!!

Thanks for the encouragement juliab.
Medium RPG. Has some neat mechanics that sets it apart from your average RPG, as mentioned in the game description. You can only get money from selling the monsters you defeat. Story was interesting, I liked it. Mapping is nice, you can see it in the screenshots. I think this would be a pretty good game if it weren't for the script crashes, which I ran into maybe 3 times over the entire course of the game. (They are usually battle related and occurs randomly.)

There is a stealth section early on that is very well made. Failing it will cause a battle that is basically impossible. But you don't want to leave the stealth section right away because there's lots of chests to bait you. Choices, choices...

My strats (Don't look at this if you plan on playing)
Ultra cheesing. Shops in the mid game sell Attack stat boosters, so I blew all my money on those. Why buy a 30,000G weapon when u can buy Attack+3's for only around 200G? It's a no brainer. It got so bad that I literally defeat the final bosses in 2 turns.
