Beta-Testing

I was wondering if anyone was interested in beta-testing.

I am nearing completion of the final dungeon (I am scrapping the sidequest dungeon and it will just contain a boss and a reward for those who get into it.) of the first act, after which I need to do some adds (a tutorial in the beginning and put together the quest menu) and then my own beta-testing.

Another question I had is what is a good forum to distribute the game for beta-testing purposes? I am expecting the file size to be in the 50 meg range (I have some MP3s that I'm using) and am kind of a dinosaur in terms of file uploading mechanics of present day.

If you are interested in beta-testing, please send me a message. Thanks.

Progress Update

Well, one more dungeon, well actually two if you count the sidequest, I guess "challenge" dungeon of the first act to go. My original idea was not to include any kind of morality/reputation system for the first act because Alberich is intended to be played as an inherently angsty evil character feel spit on by the Gods for his dwarvish stature, but I decided to add it in. However, if the morality system does not really have an impact so much on the story-line aspect of the game (basically, for the big sidequest dungeon of Act 1, you have two options of getting to it, going the skill-based route, or through acts of "immorality"). I was wondering if people thought this was a concept that could work, or if I am just spinning my wheels with it. A lot of what goes into the first Act gameplay wise has to do with what skills the player is choosing and how they use them (i.e. if Alberich's skill choices are focused on his ability as a utility character (pick locks, pickpocket, etc.) he will end up being shitty in battle but awesome for finding new equipment and accessing areas otherwise inaccessible. Or you can go the route of the more battle-focused skills (Poison Dagger, Hide in Shadows, Backstab) and make him more of an effective melee character, missing out on some good potential pieces of equipment for him and his companion(s).

What are the thoughts on this?

Progress Update

So far, there's been two dungeons and Nibelheim city have been created for the first chapter. There will be two additional dungeons, and besides additional cutscenes and changes to Nibelheim city, that should just about wrap up the first Act: The Rhinegold. My hope is this will run me maybe until the end of February if possible in which case I will be releasing a demo. Anyone who would like more information, or would like to make any project contributions please feel free to contact me. Thanks.

Progress Update

I've made some headway recently, especially in the graphics department. Since I'm using mostly PS4 edits and this is set in a middle ages era, its been a lot of graphics editing. The attribute add menu has been completed as well as a few maps. Battlecharasets for two of the major characters has been completed as well as all statistics for level ups. Still have some major work to do with the skills system, in which you receive points at level up to learn new skills. Many of these skills are very D&D based, with finding traps, hiding in shadows, bartering with merchants, lockpicking and so on.

That's about all I can provide for updates!
