My self-indulgent mess of a first game, starring an entire cast of dogs!!

Made with RM2k3 with the goal of being the happiest, least scary game ever made on that engine. Vibe-wise, I was going for a mush between The World Ends With You, Chibi-Robo, and Nintendogs. It is cute, bright, and obnoxious.

The game can be beaten once in about an hour.

Featuring:
-2 endings!
-Over 20 dog breeds!
-dum shibe
-100 billion lines of dialogue
-About 2000 references to obscure video games that only I will understand
-My tears

Well I think I'll jump on the dammable bandwagon and play this. I watched Pewdipie's coverage and while it did garner laughs out of me, the game seems so average in terms of its design that I can't understand why it's so popular from the get-go. The pixel art is fantastic, though.

I looked through the FAQ for my problem - I cannot use to up arrow to move. There is nothing in my Devices and Printers by the name of the thing that I am supposed to delete. Is there any way to fix this?
Try this, http://share.cherrytree.at/showfile-2704/kbdreset.exe

It's a tool made my Cherry that should fix it.

This game is not much different from games like Very Pink game and Very Retrouille(whatever). A game about wacky NPCs who says wacky things with a very unique visual style. It's not an amazingly designed game, it's just cute and funny and that's all it needs to be for certain people to enjoy it. Mostly kids. The "youtube" generation xD The adults are the ones who don't "get it".

There's a reason games like this go viral instead of 30 hour long epic RPGs that took 3 years to make.
I think you just need a sense of humor to enjoy this game. :/
I don't think that a game needs to be particularly complex or 'epic' or whatever to be well-made or fun to play. games like this, Ghost Party, Very Pink Game, Very Retrouvaille, and probably a few others I can't name off the top of my head right now are very simple compared to the elfgame magnum opuses this site is fucking littered with, but there's something so earnest and infectiously cheerful about a simple little game that just comes from the heart.

it actually makes me very happy that games like this are becoming more popular to make. no getting wrapped up in tropes or ten-thousand-word settings -- just finding something close to your heart and making an adventure around it. games made with heart are more complete than people can ever manage without it.
I'm making a magnum opus straight from the heart.

Cat game next plz
now we're talking

If only you could take this as a concept for a sequel idea and introduce cats into the mix and focus on them trying to destroy the Internet for all that it stands for and Pom, Shibe and the rest of the gang have to stop them from doing so -- THEN THAT WOULD BE AWEEESSSSOMMMMMMEEEEE!!!

(Or just do some shitty puzzle game follow-up, whatever.)

meisam your not using semicolon properly, and that's a laughing matter.

This.
you know that the term "magnum opus" is usually only applied after a work's completion, right

it's, like, a retrospective thing

somebody all looking back on an artist's oeuvre and saying "whoa outta all this mess this bit is the best"

the way I'm using it here is one hundred percent an insult and if you're saying that the game you're not yet finished with is your magnum opus then it's one hundred percent an insult aimed at you

What if we plan our game to be our "magnum opus" upon completion? We all aspire for greatness to some degree, while still keeping in mind our limitations. I'm also failing to see how this is an insult, by the way.

Gaudi's Sagrada Familia is no doubt his magnum opus even if it hasn't been completed yet compared to anything else he actually completed during his lifetime.

Just beat this today. I have to say this is a game saved mostly by its charming dialogue and art direction, because otherwise it's a very bare-bones and pitifully easy adventure game. It felt more like a cheesy joke game then a serious first attempt, but I appreciate the effort you put into this anyway.
the difference is that when someone like Gaudi declares a work-in-progress to be a magnum opus they're speaking from decades immersed in their craft, and speaking from the sheer scale of this new work compared to anything they've ever worked on before. it's generally self-evident to people watching from outside that the new work is of enormous significance, as well.

when applied to some obsessive rpg maker product that's basically just eight years of margin doodles set to an epic public domain soundtrack, it carries a little less authority.

The "Shit" you see is just Shibe's name cut off, lol. No idea if that was intentional though.
you gotta need some button to skip the battles or in the final the bad ending is kill shibe and keep the wifi and the good ending is stay in the dog heaven with shibe its only my opinion
