So it seems that RPGMaker.net is running pretty slowly...

I've been getting reports that the game is taking over an hour to download. The game is like 60 mb large -- it shouldn't even be taking 10 minutes!

I've put up a mirror on MediaFire. Maybe this will go little faster?

Yeah i noticed that too starting late afternoon. I took a look at our server but nothing is jumping out at me, and unfortunately our server admin is in San Diego on vacation!

I took a look at the Google Analytics, and our visits have spiked starting yesterday afternoon...and our ad revenue is higher than usual today.

So... to be quite honest... I think your game is driving a ton of traffic to the site. Way more than normal. And I've never seen a game reach 6000+ downloads so fast (like, this is Marvel Brothel levels!). We aren't exactly on the most powerful servers.

It just might be because of you that we're slow...?

Oh my gosh...I don't even know what to say. I guess I ought to apologize?

It's my first game and whatever I was expecting, it wasn't this.
I think Pewdiepie played your game and that created an influx of downloads. This would probably account for the slowness - that lots of people were downloading your game at the same time.
Congrats on that!
H--How the heck did this game get so bloody popular so bloody quick??? O_O

It's gotta be the marketing. I...It's just gotta be!

As I said before, Pewdiepie - a very well-known youtuber - played it and posted it on his channel. He literally has hundreds of thousands of watchers, so it kinda exploded from there.

Apparently someone requested he play the game in a comment on another vid and he decided it looked cool.

No way! You deserve kudos for garnering so much success in so short a time! Congratulations. Keep up the good work.

So the objective becomes clear: everyone start advertising your games to Pewdiepie and let the traffic flow.
Except most games are uninteresting to look at, or RTP. The real objective is to make more interesting looking games! Then show them off.
I tried stopping and starting some processes on the server... hopefully that helps :\

For the record: apparently he's usually asked to play horror games due to his over-the-top reactions to being scared shitless. Ergo, make pant-shittingly frightening horror games and you might catch his attention.

Or cute-as-fucking-pie dogs that swear and chase wi-fi in tooth-achingly-bright-and-cheerful-yet-morbid settings. ^.~
So…it’s either make a horror based game in order to get noticed or one featuring a bunch of cute and cuddly animals centering around trying to get Wi-Fi...

Well – I’M SCREWED!!!
