It's a meme

Pom Gets Wifi is an adventure game about egocentric female Pomeranian that talks and acts like an internet meme. The character is narcissistic in all of her actions, yet leaves the space to be likable, as she is brutally honest.

Graphics
Not pixel perfect, not done with attention to details, not a masterpiece but the graphics are fun. Bright but not obnoxious, they fit the lightheaded mood of the story.

Gameplay:
This is a story-driven game with a little combat that is not challenging, but rather entertaining and without "real" puzzles. Which was fine by me - the story, or rather the dialogues were entertaining on their own.

Story:
The story isn't complex, but rather unique - Pom is addicted to internet so much, that one day she couldn't stop checking her Tumblr to escape the burning house. After she died, she began her journey in heaven in the search of a wifi.
But more interesting then the story are the dialogues, I didn't expect such style of writing. Those are dumb, clever and utterly hilarious.

Characters:
The characters are one-dimensional. Which is a good thing. Not every story must have complex characters and if you're making a comedy, you often want quite the opposite. Such one-dimensional characters are caricatures, that are funny because of exaggeration.

The most prominent character is Pom, of course. Blant, selfish, outspoken, don't care what others think. Her partner, Shibe (dum Shibe as she calls him) is quite the opposite - loyal, virtuous and the ultimate nice guy. It's amusing to watch this tandem together.

Ending:
The story has a good and bad endings, but even the bad ending does not leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth - it's yolo.

A lot of people criticizing the game more harshly, just because of the hype it made. I'm not going to roll out my opinion to justify or argue it's popularity.

I'm giving it solid 4 stars - playing the game was a time well spent.

This is the best review of this game I've read on this site.

Instead of bashing it just because it became popular (I dislike all people who review this way) or making a mega-analysis (that's actually good tho), you go straight to the point. Also, I agree with all what you said. :)
