September 6th, 2020:
Version 2.091
-changed positions of Dragons in final dungeon to spread them out and no longer required to manually skip the Dragons to continue on
-minor mapping and animation changes, and audio adjustments

Legends Of Illarion 2 is the long awaited prequel to the 2009 RM2K3 game Legends Of Illarion. The prequel takes place in ancient Illarion at the dawn of time, many centuries before the events of the first game. I consider this game mostly to be an old school JRPG.

You don't need to play LOI before playing LOI2. You can play either game before the other and there won't be too much spoilers involved. The first LOI contains a larger more diverse world with more interrelated story elements and characters, while LOI2 is a little easier, smaller, and more straight forward than the first game. I actually recommend you play this game first.

"We are but mortals who cannot fathom the true nature of the gods. Whether they are kind and benevolent, or vengeful and angry, I cannot say. The only thing that is certain, is that their power is real, and we must always be wary..."

The world of Illarion is at its infancy, having been created by the gods for only mere centuries. An Entity appears, born from the evil growing in the very hearts of mortals, bringing destruction and chaos to the realms. The gods await worthy heroes to appear and defeat the Entity. However, as time passes by, none step forth to save Illarion.

In desperation, one goddess intervenes in mortal affairs, using deception to cause a group of mortals to begin a journey to defeat the Entity. But do they truly fight to save Illarion, or do they fight to fulfill their own selfish motives? As they squabble amongst themselves and get ever closer to the promised end of their journey, the gods play their cruel hand and begin to reveal their true intentions...

Just got done with the game, loved every minute of it. I liked the gameplay (though the fights were pretty punishing), and liked the story as well. One thing I wish was in the ending was specifics on each gods ascension, and narguns in particular, as it looks like he, out of all the younger gods would have changed the most, but that started when his wife died. I figured the elder gods did not give him the answer he sought, and finding out the goddess of water did nothing surely didnt help.

how the hell do I beat the hydra? it just casts meteorfall which takes my party out in one hit even with their MDF boosted.

he casts it on the second turn, just defend that turn. first turn lower magic with moshran and up your parties mdef, second turn have everyone parry.

Thanks Omnion, I'm glad you enjoyed the game and thanks for your feedback. Next time please use spoiler tags though.
Can I get a hint on where to find the last key in the deserted castle? I have four and obviously need five.

The keys are located at:

1. Art Gallery Puzzle
2. Dinner Hall Puzzle
3. Graveyard Puzzle
4. Read book on library table, then look in the Garden
5. Read book on master room table, then go to basement and feed wine to suit of armour

the irony is strong with this one XD

hope the 3rd sequel come out someday and someday i mean the end of the month or weak or

a day XD

but still good game i love this one just the first game =)

Well isn't this just ducky :(

Started playing.
Was told by the Inn Keeper that "we both have our own places to rest".....
but none of the damn doors will open for me :( I'm having to spend my
hard earned coins on bed space at the Inn.

Where on earth is my humble home ???

The Hydra has a special weakness that is mentioned by one of the guards at Malachin's tents:
He has one powerful spell on turn 1, but if you can deplete his mana with one of Malachin's skills, then the Hydra can't use it.

There is no home. It's just a commentary on the cliche of having(or not having?) to stay at the inn at the hero's own town.

I find myself in the tower of magic city of Angur and I can not pass two blue flames that lead me back.
Please help.

Why don't you just use the skip puzzle option?

Otherwise, all you can do is move carefully and don't touch the flames.
Thank you. What level must have the characters for the final battles ? Why not let me use the SP with Petranor ? Thank you.
