September 6th, 2020:
Version 2.091
-changed positions of Dragons in final dungeon to spread them out and no longer required to manually skip the Dragons to continue on
-minor mapping and animation changes, and audio adjustments

Legends Of Illarion 2 is the long awaited prequel to the 2009 RM2K3 game Legends Of Illarion. The prequel takes place in ancient Illarion at the dawn of time, many centuries before the events of the first game. I consider this game mostly to be an old school JRPG.

You don't need to play LOI before playing LOI2. You can play either game before the other and there won't be too much spoilers involved. The first LOI contains a larger more diverse world with more interrelated story elements and characters, while LOI2 is a little easier, smaller, and more straight forward than the first game. I actually recommend you play this game first.

"We are but mortals who cannot fathom the true nature of the gods. Whether they are kind and benevolent, or vengeful and angry, I cannot say. The only thing that is certain, is that their power is real, and we must always be wary..."

The world of Illarion is at its infancy, having been created by the gods for only mere centuries. An Entity appears, born from the evil growing in the very hearts of mortals, bringing destruction and chaos to the realms. The gods await worthy heroes to appear and defeat the Entity. However, as time passes by, none step forth to save Illarion.

In desperation, one goddess intervenes in mortal affairs, using deception to cause a group of mortals to begin a journey to defeat the Entity. But do they truly fight to save Illarion, or do they fight to fulfill their own selfish motives? As they squabble amongst themselves and get ever closer to the promised end of their journey, the gods play their cruel hand and begin to reveal their true intentions...

Really? I must have missed one as I played some of them, at least the SNES ones. There is a "free to play" game that likes to use squaresoft background music in their game which I think it's copyright infringement unless of course they got permission. This is the 2nd RPG maker game I encountered that used background music I recognized from that "free to play" game.
I am stuck in the volcano below the dwarf place. I cannot figure out how to solve the stone puzzle.... the one where if you push the stone, it moves until it bumps something. I cannot see any possible way to get it to the lava via where the arrow is pointing except if you have a party member in front of it. Since your party member follows you, I cannot place one correctly to stop the stone. I am playing v 2.084.

Hi matski, thanks for playing! Here is the solution in the spoiler tag below:

I completed the game. I found two possible small bugs... one in the last town, a treasure chest graphic showed it wasn't opened even though I already opened it. In the elven forest close to where you fight the guy that captured children, when your party members show from being disappeared, it will walk over a npc.

I am now playing the 1st one. I actually played it several years ago. It looks like I got stuck on a boss in chapter 2 because my folder says to level grind in chapter 2.

Hey glad to hear you completed the game!

Alright, I fixed those chests, and hopefully it was only that town! As for the other thing, if you mean that out-of-party characters might overlap with monster npcs in the elven forest, then that's fixed too. Thanks!
Hello ! I've been through LoI 2 once more !
It's very nice to see the weapons in fights.
The game seems more balanced now, entities fight being much more difficult than regular bosses.
I'm not sure the cooldown on spells is necessary... Anyway...
I was really pleased to see that magic spells don't depend on the weapon anymore.
At the end, though, "fighters" easilly have all their SP spent, whereas casters can't have both all passives abilities and all spells... So unfair !

Difficulty is really enhanced in the dragons fights. Perhaps a bit too much... It was definitly harder than the last boss fight... Indeed the dragons'status effect attacks almost always work. Thus the half merit becomes useless... Perhaps you could lower the success rate or make the accessory a 3/4 merit XD
In the same way, the drain spells never miss, and it's such a pain to have to replenish magic points after each dragon fight ! It looks like Will is completely useless...
On the other hand, it was much more fun...
I don't think you added much to the plot since my last walkthrough. It's ok anyway.

Found a few typos (I wasn't very concentrated on spelling though) :
-Meeting the refugees, Elara says "moving foward", instead of "forward".
-In Oldra's story in old house, Sirani says "somone" instead of "someone".
-Meeting with Apollaron and Artemenia in Lor, the latter says "Apollaron and I were "ambused" instead of "ambushed".

It has been a real pleasure once again. I'll definitly go on a LoI 1 rerun !

Hey thanks for playing through the game yet again! It makes me really happy to know that there are fans like you that enjoys playing my games multiple times =)

I think magic users have enough advantages already, so I gotta let the melee fighters have something =) Yeah maybe you're right about the accessory. I should probably make it 75% resistance so that it's more worthwhile. I added more MP drain spells, so that those MP regen spells and MP cost accessories are more useful, since it seemed like you never run out of MP before.

As always thanks for your feedback and finding those typos for me =)

Sorry I don't understand what you are talking about. Can you provide some more details?
Figured this looked fun, so I decided to start playing it! Recording/streaming my progress on YouTube as I play through the game.

Oh wow, cool! Thank you! I had no idea you did Let's Plays too. I thought you only did BMP2 videos :P

Hope you'll enjoy the game!
I need a good strategy for Razul the Corrupt. He keeps wiping the floor with me.

Give Zhambra a spear and use Ease Earth on himself on turn 1. Then have everyone else cast their good statuses/shields on him, like Malachin's Concussion Shield and Oldra's Regen/Max HP buffs. Then on turn 2, have Zhambra use Shared Destiny to give all his stuff to the rest of the party.

You can also equip the Attention Band/Covert Band to manipulate who gets targeted more/less.

Thanks, I'll try it out later. Great game btw!
Long overdue review incoming!
I want to play this, but unfortunately playing the first legends of illarion kind of ruins this game. You already know what happens to the MC :/
