I've stopped production on this game, so it is now, officially cancelled.

You will need the VX RTP to run this game:
http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages

To install:

First, make a new folder, and call it Tristian: LoTL.
Put the compressed download into that folder as well as the Audio folder and extract like normal with WinRAR or WinZip.
Install the fonts included if you don't have them yet.

Basic Controls:

Apart from the usual arrow/directional keys:

Alt + Enter - Toggle Full Screen mode
Enter/Spacebar/Z/ - Action key
Esc/X - Main Menu/Cancel an interaction
Shift - Sprint
Left Shift + Z = Pull an object towards you ( like a crate or boulder )

out the door

13 days before I am supposed to 'celebrate' being on this site for 7 years, i've decided to leave rmn as well. having grown uncomfortable with the circle-jerkers ( aka the devs whose games get the most attention and all their friends ) and the few rotten apples here, it's simply become an unhealthy place for me to hang around.

while i won't be posting here anymore, i'd like to stay in contact with some of the members here by ways of building an e-mail list ( yes, it's a little different from the usual chatrooms like discord/skype, but i see them as massive timesinks. i never get anything done ) informing subscribers about my future projects. so... if you're interested, drop me a pm and we'll see where the road takes us. the simple gesture would mean a lot to me, because it shows that some of you still care. who knows? maybe you'll get a surprise or two.

maybe.

maybe some of you hate me for broken promises i couldn't keep, maybe some of you lost your respect for me because I couldn't keep doing what I loved to do. or maybe some people just hated on Enelysion because it became popular...

who knows? it doesn't matter anyway.
i'm going to keep on being a creative workaholic.

So long, and keep gaming
i was always too serious for this place, anyway

Well, I never did put the game on Hiatus, did I? ^^ Actually, I hadn't been working on Tristy some time before I made that little announcement. I hit that dreaded wall of creative block, but as usual, I climbed right over it.
Welcome back, you.
Happy Birthday, by the way. And Merry Christmas, while we're at it.

HOORAY! :DDDDD
Thanks, Dy. What else would I expect from my No.1 fan? And uni is the same as ever. XD Will have to save my blog update for Boxing Day.

I feel so special. <3 But jeez, only out for a WEEK and already sitting at nearly $800 mil? 0_0 It hope its better than Empire Strikes Back ( still the best SW film ).

Guess all I needed was a three-week long sabbatical, coming back as a Level 28 Gam-Mak developer. XD I have been quietly working on LoTL though, to an extent that I will have two-hour long demo out by January. So... I need testers. But more on that in my blog. I'll put up a teaser video in the meantime. >:D

All I can say is:
Tristian's soundtrack blows Enelysion's out of the water. Completely. I am in love with the soundtrack.

Welcome back Luchino. Hope you're feeling better. Also, I'm willing to be a tester if that helps.
oh! welcome back, and good to see you!
I knew that you’d come back. Nobody ever TRULY leaves here. *muhahaha*

Hey - what about me!? I still care about this.

You and your 2.5. What did you really expect? :p
@Zieg: Yes, I'm feeling a lot better now, thanks. =) I'll bump you a PM when the next build of the game is ready.

@mawk: Oh hai. RMN has a hypnotic pull on me. I've been here since 2009, after all. XD I guess I have a soft spot for this site ( and everyone belonging to it ).

@Addit: Of course you do. >:D Got to be cruel to be kind, eh? Just kidding.

@Dy: Stop teasing him. XD The review is two years old, after all... ( gee, and I'm not even halfway done with the game >< )

I still plan on reviewing this again when the full version gets completed, so I’m sure that 2.5 will turn in to at least a 3, lol.
@Addit: How kind of you. XD

And happy new year, everyone. May this Lion roar in truimph by years end. Aka a completed game.
Happy new year, Luchi! Can't wait till the official full release. I need to get inspired again. :)
Hey, I draw inspiration from LINUS as well, you know. ;)
Right, so I've finally set a release date for this thing. If it's not done by my 30th birthday come 2017, then I have failed. I can't see myself working on games in my thirties ( though several veteran RMers would disagree with me XD ). Maybe I'll do resources instead and sell them for some money on the side.

Some of the best works in gaming were done by people well into their 30s and 40s.
What's so bad about working on games past 30? It's not like there'll be any stigma around it. Remember, once upon a time playing video games meant you were a hopeless nerd. Now they're as much a part of recreational culture as watching football and going camping.

Yep yep! Nothing wrong with it! I'm in my thirties and I'm still making games because I love doing it. There's no shame in that ^_^
Hey, just remember what one of the taglines here said: "Game Making: it's better than the alternatives, like depression or whatever."

Continue to work on your games until your heart’s content, no matter how old you are.

And you’re not a failure if this doesn’t happen to get completed by 2017 – oh no! You’ll just kind of labelled as one of those developers around here who are really, really slow…like me! :D
Or maybe I should have worded it a bit better: I'd at least want to be making some money off my hobby by the time I'm in my 30s, but with the market so saturated with RTP-crapfests and what with the RPGMaker name so scorned-- well...

And 2017 isn't that long considering I also took four years to develop Enelysion, which is far, far less ambitious than Tristy. 2017 could also be the year JRPGs hopefully explode back into prominence what with the release of the FF7 remake. At least, we can dream, right?
