:Story:

Aeons ago, before planets and worlds came to be in the fabric of time,
Goddess Gaea the creator of Life and Rebirth, created six mystical elements
which made the foundation of a world. Nature, Fire, Water, Earth, Light,
and Shadow, these elements coalesced to form planets full of life and energy.

The world you live in is known as Lakria, a planet blooming with lush life
and full of wonderful mysteries and legends. Many inhabitants of the world
often give praise and thanks to Gaea for bestowing them such a life to live.

Until one day, the energy of the Lakria appears to be waning and the planet slowly begins to start dying. Everyone is in shock and is wondering what might be causing the planet's pain, they began to look up at the sky to Gaea for a miracle, hoping
she will once again visit the planet and bless it with rebirth.

:Spiritual Energy:
In the game, energy and spiritualism are heavily referenced throughout.
Spiritual energy pertains to the very essence that makes living things..
well, living. It is also the makeup of thoughts, emotions, and one's being.

There is positive Spiritual Energy, which is basically positive emotions
like kindness, optimism, purity, etc, which can really make one's aura
visible and shine. Negative Energy on the other hand is the exact
opposite, evil, greed, lust, doubt, and envy.

Spiritual Energy is also a source of which Magic is drawn from,
this allows one to use Magic depending on how great/type their energy is.

It is noted that in the world of Lakria, there are extremely powerful entities of spiritual energy that are capable of manifesting into physical material depending on what they seem to represent.

Greetings everyone, I am new around and was planning to start digging in with this game which seems incredible, yet I can not make it work, every time I try to use the exe file, the moment the window appears I get the error "The file Lakria Legends\System\YAMMM.png cannot be opened", the file is there alright but nothing I tried made a change (recopied the file, put the game directory on several different locations, installed the RTP, turned off antivirus real time protection, ran it as administrator), if anyone can throw me a clue of what is going on I will be truly grateful, many thanks and have a good day.
Are you sure to have unzipped the game correctly?
Then you shouldn't have problems starting the game with RPG_RT.exe.

I believe so, downloaded it again, unzipped it again, if I am doing something wrong it escapes my grasp.

Edit: the file is there, in the exact directory path that the error message is telling me can not be opened.

Second Edit: Out of being bothered I executed it from inside the zip (just clicking the exe from winrar)... and lo and behold it runs???... but doesn't if I unzip it no matter which variants of places to put it in I have tried so far, I am at my wit ends.
Hello Koopa, I just finished your game and it was extremely beautiful with 50 hours of emotions and (Tragedy... I won't spoil so you know what I mean in the end... :( ) but I truly loved the masterpiece tho I do have something to ask

Is there going to be a sequel (Please say yes) ? Because I feel there is more to the story, my head started imagining other things that coul happen to the characters or with new characters but the same continents and atmosphere

In the end it was said that there are tasks undone so I want to know if there is a future project coming up on Lakria, ohh and if you have a dev blog, can you give me the link, thanks

@Gondav

Hm, now that is a very unique problem. I don't think I've heard of it from anyone else. Hm, so you're getting a resource issue even while all the files are there? What operating system are you using by any chance? It's not an RTP issue since it's not one of the included files, but an external one. Hm, running from the zip file directly works, but not when extracted? I'll try to see what's causing this. Let me know if you end up correcting it somehow!

Thank you very much, I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! I wasn't too sure how people were going to react to the ending, but I feel like it hits where it needs to and also leaves a lot to imagination which is great too!

At the time, there is currently nothing I'm developing just yet. But, the thought of a prequel or sequel to Lakria Legends has really crossed my mind since I have all the material and resources for it. It could very well happen! :) I don't have a dev blog, but I do have my youtube account where I do occasionally post whatever it is that I'm working on!

@KoopaKush

Thanks for the reply, and yes, my predicament is quite odd, I am running out of ideas, operative system is Windows 10 Pro, I have scoured forums for a similar issue but so far none of the solutions provided works, since basically none of them had the actual file, I have the png, it is in the proper folder route, I can open it and see it perfectly, made several copies over itself and the folder where it is located, gave all the available permits, tried all the compatibility modes, unzipped the files loose, on a folder named as the zip file, on the folder as it is presented, nothing. Had a similar issue with Umbral Souls, in that case it was a sound file, but solved it by finding an alert on that game process in my antivirus and cancelling it, none has been made for your game. It is a bit uncomfortable but I am just playing it from the zip file and adding the saves to it, it seems that winrar can properly load the files routes out of the compression or is shielding the game calls from whatever hampers it out in the HD. So far greatly enjoying the story, this is how games should be made, thanks for the hard work!

Yea, I also feel like the ending is where it should be (Though tragic since love came in the way)

And PLEASE do, I will be waiting for the sequel or prequel with passion and patience since I still have questions unanswered as a game of this extreme great caliber deserve a sequel or prequel and one of the ideas that my imagination gave me is:

*********SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*********

In the laboratory section (Pre endgame) we found that Ren's father was in working in the lab, Hundreds if not thousands of years so a prequel about his life is interesting since his journals were kinda...heartbreaking.....of course that's just an opinion, our imagination can be really wonderful and creative hehe
Hello again!
I'm having trouble with skipping...
https://imgur.com/a/XGFXg

The music, the battles, and the menu are all fine (except the dialogues for the flute and save point), but this weird skipping is making it difficult to navigate the map. :(

It just started out of nowhere when I loaded it up yesterday. I didn't do anything strange or see anything strange from before.

This is the only RPGMaker game affected.

That is strange, I never had a similar problem.

Have you tried to enter the elemental room in the menu and leaving it again? That fixes some of the known issues with this game.

Another option is to leave the dungeon and reenter.

Ah thank you so for the response! I tried all of those things (thank you for the elemental room suggestion) but unfortunately they haven't worked.

However, I just loaded the game now and it all seems fine.......

(again I've done nothing different! Perhaps it was something going on with my computer that needed to work itself out after a few shutdowns and restarts?)

Sorry and also thank you!
I need some help finding the Abysmal Trench. I'm assuming it's in Dimora Ocean but I've looked everywhere (it seems) and I can't find the music note spot to summon Magenta.

Once you have defeated Lord Viride in Fairy Island, it will give you the warp points to 3 other areas. Abysmal Trench, Gaea's Crown and Scorched Summit. You can find Lord Magenta inside a cave within the Abysmal Trench. To warp there on the map, you must first make sure you have blessed your flute to be played underwater. You can get this blessing on the Deserted Island, find the statue on the island and play "Nature's Embrace" directly in front of it! :)

Thanks, I realized this a little while ago and felt stupid lol. But now I seem to be stuck in Nivel. The part with Ren and Serene, both doors are sealed shut. I already completed the other two and got the orbs.
Also, while I'm on this topic the walkthrough says "Go further and use your Lantern to get a Bomb." Where exactly is this? I can only use the main room and the shrink room and there doesn't seem to be any way to progress further.
I have some seriously bad lag in the desert area on my laptop. I changed to a more recent laptop and for some reason the lag only got worse. Its to the point now that the game is unplayable for me. Any suggestions on setting changes, maybe a plugin I may have missed or anything to improve it?

What colour is the flame at the statue? If it is purple use your Lantern at the sign in the NW corner of the map. That should open the door for Serene.

I think I had a bug there as the flame was blue for me from the beginning.

Are you entering the desert for the first time?
Once you let it rain, the storm will die down and you should have no more lags.
Okay, I've just finished playing. It took me awhile to find the time to sit down and really immerse myself, but I managed. Curse this 'growing up' shit!

Anyway, my feelings are mixed. It's a terrific game at heart, but there are a few things really wrong with it. For one, the artificial slowness drives me absolutely mental. I'm mostly talking about the standard dialogue where you have a half-second pause in between every single message box, even if it's the same person continuing to speak. This is totally unnecessary. Conversation with the Watchers was also pretty horrible. I mean, a grade 1 kid can read faster than their text speed. I know you were going for a particular aesthetic with this design choice, but please, keep it in check next time.

Second, the challenges fell short considering all the skills and items at the player's disposal. By the end of the game, I had a plethora of upgraded Level 50+ Skills, optional Summons, and overpowered equipment, but never really had the opportunity to use them. The Summons and Incarnations also cost too much MP. I never used them once, outside of wasting them on a random battle to see what they look like. Kudos to all the great animations you made, though.

Now, some ending thoughts!

I have some major beefs with the way the ending was handled.
Regarding the Serene thing, that was a low blow. It almost ruins the entire experience, to bring it to such a disappointing conclusion. Her role as the Lunar Princess was never fleshed out in a meaningful way. She never "led the Watchers" as was said would happen, nor did she do anything more notable after transforming than what she'd already been doing, like imbuing the stones and providing bardic knowledge. What I'm trying to say is, the direction you took her in was completely devoid of purpose, and to separate her from Ren and the others and condemn her to a life of solitude and loneliness on those grounds...
See, there's tragedy that's thematically appropriate, and then there's plain old emotional cruelty. What you did with Serene was the latter.

Compounding things was the fact that Ren and Leena were shown back at home with Mom. While it's feely-good nice that things 'went back to normal', it also subtly says that the two haven't grown up any. They both should have moved on to do more adult things with their lives. For comparison, Peace ascended to the throne(?) and Night found his closure. Those two had solid, progressive endings. They developed.

But overall, I enjoyed it.
You map like a champ, and your dungeon design & puzzles are an inspiration and some serious food-for-thought for fellow devs. I hope your next game takes all the good and fixes all the bad. Thanks for making it!

I'm having an issue with Masoud's quest:

According to the guide I have plenty of materials, and S-Ranked Mirage Temple so I got and used the pattern, but the Al'Setet isn't appearing on the craft menu

Have you found all other patterns first?
You also have to craft those items I mentioned.
The more you craft (mind the ingredients) the sooner he will accept another pattern.

Same problem here, I already read through a guide but I can't do anything, Umm.. I have read some of the prior comment in here they said it need to "Fix-save" or something ? maybe this is a bug ?

Nearly about 20 hours of gameplay throughout nearly a month, I don't wanna quit this game without finished it.

Am I missed something or anything I could do ?
Anyone please help!
