Creepy, creepy faces..

This is it this is the scariest game.

While I ordinarily find the use of the Ace face generator acceptable (although still a little creepy), I think this game has managed to make the scariest possible faces.. not that this is entirely a bad thing, it did make the game feel much darker than the usual RTP expectations. As I've started this spiel on the topic of graphics, I'll go on to mention that the whole game was made using the RTP save for the title images, which were 3D models of women looking eerie. The RTP is used in some strange ways like hanging mirrors on the floor instead of the walls, and while some maps are pretty well decorated there are some which are still rather spacious and without character.

The sounds of the game were also RTP, but the effort was made to change things up by making tempos different. I hadn't previously realised just how nice one of the Game Over tunes sounded when slowed down, so I can give props for that one.

Onto the aspect of gameplay, there wasn't really much that happened in the game other than examining objects, making choices and exploring. My character choices in the beginning didn't much seem to matter, but I did replay and try leaving some of the girls behind this time and got different endings, so I can appreciate how effort has been made to make a non-linear game here.

I was told at the start I could save by pressing X at any time, but could never get it to work. I was, however, given the save menu after some events like sleeping or reading notes.

OH GOD OH GOD LET ME BACK IN PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE

The characters were all mainly crazy apart from the main, and they did actually have different personalities in terms of the things they said, but.. no backstory was really given to them other than the fact they'd spent so long in there. The story was also a bit rushed and I didn't feel like any questions were answered either.

I'll get straight to the numbers:

Visuals: 3/10
Sounds: 4/10
Story: 5/10
Characters: 5/10
Gameplay: 1/10
Theme: I noticed the theme is apparently a mixture of: Survival Horror, Ghost Story, Non-fiction Horror. I guess I can see the horror elements, but nothing really “survival”-like jumped out in the gameplay, and I didn't really see any ghost stories. But the game did fit into a Halloween style so I figure it's 6/10 for this.

Overall Score: 4/10

Thanks!

I agree, hopefully I'll fix a lot of things. Much appreciated for the time.
