Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

Exciting, but ultimately pointless.

I don't know how much you need enemy sprites from Final Fantasy VII onwards, but Final Fantasy Record Keeper makes an excellent job delivering FFVII+ enemies in battle sprites: FFRK Enemy List

Yup! WCouillard linked me to that a little while back. There are some FANTASTIC ones on there. I've had to do a bit of work resizing and heavily editing some (like the FF8 grat), but I don't mind one bit. Great collection of sprites there.
Yeah, it's a real shame about their resolution not fitting in with FFD's stuff, because they really are nice sprites. I'm glad you're gonna get a use out of them, though.

Yiazmat, though. O_o

Square Enix did announce a few new mobile FF RPGs coming out soon, and these actually look like they're going to have sprites and art more in line with a modern engine, so maybe I'll get lucky and they'll be extracted quickly enough for me to use them. Always good to have more options.

That Yiazmat sprite is insane, and I'll be putting it to good use.

Really digging the FFT knight sprite, which I'm using frequently throughout the Lenadia portion of the game.
Check back in every now and then on the Pictlogica section, because as far as I know, that game still gets updates from time to time, and yo might find new enemy art there that wasn't available before.

True enough! Several of the monster graphics on that page even replaced old ones I had, most notably my own hedgehog pie edit.

I liked it too, but the 2D Square-Enix one is much nicer looking. ;)
I do hope it'll stay in the game files as a part of the history lesson. ;)

Hmmm... Not resized, but thanks.

BTW, I hope FFRK gets a translation very soon, don't you think?

I have no idea what FFRK is. I don't follow anything new related to Final Fantasy, as I feel that the series went down the shitter after FF9. I gave 12 a chance and thought it was okay at best, and the hype train convinced me to buy 13 and I regret it more than any other video game purchase I've ever made. A friend got me to try the trial for 14 late in the summer this year, and I didn't enjoy it for any longer than 2-3 days (and I love MMOs). I have absolutely zero interest in the 13 sequels or 15.

So I just pretend that there truly was a final fantasy in the Final Fantasy series, and that it was FF9. Everything after it is bad/mediocre to me.

While yes, I agree that the overall quality and a feeling of a Final Fantasy game had dropped since Final Fantasy IX, I for once still enjoy the new titles. Actually, my first FF was Final Fantasy X-2 (by a complete accident) who many fans consider a black sheep of the series, but I still enjoyed it. Final Fantasy IX is by far my most favourite FF title in the series as well, it had excellent playable cast (although Quina and Amarant felt like fillers or something, they weren't interesting for me), and the ending was simply beautiful ("Behind the Door" from the ending is by far the most beautiful music piece I ever heard).

The social games are good mainly for the sole reason they're 16-bit and you can grab sprites from them to use in your games, but aside of that they lack any real substance that was once a staple for the series.

But enough of the gloom! Where are you currently with your progress? Still Lenadia?

Yea. From late October to just a few days ago, I only finished one town. I was having one of those standard slumps that we all get where the motivation goes out the window for a little bit.

I'm doing some work now though, was working on a boss fight before I had to call it a night. The last two bosses are fantastic, they're capable of easily killing the most well geared party at that point in the game, even if they're overleveled. Those two bosses have "tricks" to beating them and, once a player sees what they are, the fights become way more manageable.
You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just do it one pixel at a time!!! :D :D

I think new titles don't have what it takes. My first FF was FFVIII, which is the one I like the most, due to the GF's and battle music. The story... Nah... I like FFV story... But, just because it's a JRPG, it doesn't mean it set in the future or middle age. I like JRPG's more that I like WRPG's.

And now there's FFXV, that looks a mix between Dissidia and Hyrule/Dynasty Warriors... FFXVI should be like a sequel or a prequel, or even the prequel-sequel of any Final Fantasy, for example 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8...

Don't you guys think the same?
