Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

If his videos are any indication that it seems he is pretty far along with this project.
What about now? It's a month after the expected completion date.
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
I'm working on it. I've been pretty candid about progress on Facebook and YouTube, but I tend to overlook RMN since overall feedback for the game is a bit on the low side here (hoping that will change when the game is done).

Basically, July's been a shit show for me. Incredibly busy with a lot of things popping up. I've had almost no free time this week, but I've still got some things done.

The game's coming. It will be soon. I'm hesitant to say when, because I don't want anyone coming after me if any dates slip by without any completion notices.

But yeah, check the Facebook page for updates. I post there pretty regularly since the game seems to get more exposure there (somehow). I've posted lots of bits of information and tons of screenshots/videos over there that have never even seen the light of day on RMN.

Been looking forward to this ever since finishing the first one. Can't wait for the release!
It's a bit odd that facebook gives more reaction to game development then an rpg maker site is. xD
But hey if it works out...

Sorry to hear about July, I hope things get better soon! Thanks for your hard work! O:
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
Subscribed! I need this!

Well, it's the end of August - any luck ? Whats up ?
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
It's coming. I'm just one guy doing this in spare time.

Which is amazing. Do what you need to, I'm sure the finished product will be well worth the wait. :3
Super hyped for this to come out. I check the facebook for updates every day. Gl down the final stretch.

But seriously though, take your time my good sir: no need for deadlines.
Surprise releases are more fun anyways :P
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
Yeah, for real. I should probably just stop saying when I think the game will be done, because I always get someone coming after me and asking me why the game isn't done yet. Not really a problem on RMN, but I've had one or two people elsewhere over time act like they're owed something. That irks me, lol. It'll be done when it's done, I just know that it should be.... soon?
I wanna marry ALL the boys!! And Donna is a meanc
Congrats on being on What's Written for like, months, btw :P
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
That section belongs to me now.

Mounting Pressure
It's not your game, it's mine! Gimme that unfinished project so I can beat it! >:I

your #1 fan

P.S. I'm always watching you.

I-... I'll get around to it. Thank you.
I’m sure glad I got all those writing achievements when I first did, because at this rate it doesn’t look like things will change much anytime soon, so embrace the additional exposure there, bud. Embrace it.

And, yeah, some people just like to complain just for the sake of complaining, so don’t worry about it too much. Just get this game done whenever you can and just tell your fans in the meantime to hold their horses for a little bit until you get it done. Besides, the longer this game takes the better the overall game will be when it gets done – so patience's, people!

@ Corfaisus – Lol. This is probably why not saying a whole lot about your game in the first place and hiding it beneath the shadows can sometimes be a good thing. Less pressure on yourself and no meaningful expatiations as you just coast along through the ride.
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
Yeah, I'd honestly be lying if I said that people who hassle me over the game not being done already doesn't demotivate me slightly, it does by just enough to make working on the game feel that tiny bit more like a chore. Not helping when I'm struggling to make the final dungeon feel the way I want it to, either.
Yeah I wouldn't pay them any mind UPRC. I've been watching this game develop since you first put the page up. The way you pump out updates and progress reports, screen shots, music samples, and demos is extremely impressive. I've always felt like you were flying through development on this game.

If people feel like its taking you too long, its probably because they don't realize the scope of all of the pieces you have coming together here. As far as deadlines for game devs go, I've always felt it was more of a tool to increase productivity by setting a hard to achieve goal than an actual release date.

Do what you do at the rate you need to do it - for someone who isn't profiting off of this the amount of hours it seems you've put into it over four years is borderline insanity ;D

You have no idea, lol.

I think that this game is going to take 50 hours to beat, minimum. That's about how long it has taken me to play through in total so far, and this is coming from the guy who does artificial grinding (giving myself experience equal to X number of fights to hasten testing in areas) and always knows where to go and what to do. I estimated that the first game would be 30-40 hours at first, so I think this one might take "a little while" for people to get through.
