Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.


Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

December 2024 Update: This game was completed over seven years ago, and the original game over twelve years ago now. The Blackmoon Prophecy games are from a different time in my life, and I do NOT offer any support or offer any assistance/help any longer so please do not come to me for any. Having completed the game over seven years ago, I just honestly don't remember very much from the game and any assistance I would offer would not be very helpful. Plus, twelve years later, I just have no interest in the Blackmoon Prophecy games and have moved on from them fully. Please reference user-made documents/manuals, YouTube playthroughs, or the help page here on RMN if you need any assistance.

  • Fixed issue that allowed Zephyr to be removed from party lead at a time he is supposed to remain in that position.
  • Fixed issue that caused Mohadmal Tomb hummingway to crash the game when trying to start a card game with him.
  • Fixed issue with Rudra not being fully visible on screen when he is flying to Auslen. Only his tail could be seen.
  • Fixed issue with Tetra Master card shop windows being excessively narrow by reverting to default shop menus.
  • Fixed some minor issues with pathing and treasure chests in the Overgrowth.
  • Fixed some typos present during the party's initial boat ride to Lenadia.
  • Gave Cid a unique weapon called Commander's Blade with high magic and vigor stats to give players a better sense of Cid being a strong leader.

Yes definitely my system missing knock sound file found key file changed that to knock fixed that well I hope no one gets the problems I just had

Do you have the VX Ace RTP installed? If not, you may need to install it.

Didn't seem to help any. I've only come across one other rpgmaker game with a similar sort of behavior. It was a big map in a latter area of Everlong replete with a scripted minimap and an events where you had to gather your stranded party. At first I moved very laggy and had to constantly open and close the menu to get anywhere and as I found my party and I guess cleared the events from the memory of the game or something (Don't really know the technical jargon)the lag slowly disappeared. Cue an update a week or so later where a memory issue/bug/leak or maybe just an issue with the map script was fixed and the area was playable. Maybe something similar is happening here or maybe my laptop is garbage.(It is, but I didn't think it was this garbage) Come what may, I've been patiently waiting too long to play this damn game and I will even if I have to sell a kidney to buy a new computer.

I can't say for sure! I'm guessing that older laptops (it always seems to be laptops, lol) have trouble keeping up with VX Ace maps that run multiple common events. My PC doesn't have any such issues, nor did my testers. I really can't say for sure what it is since I don't have a way to replicate the issue myself and tinker with events in the game to see if I can improve the issue.
my pc is old too but I kinda found a solution I use cheat engines speedhack thing and I put it on 0.8 speed it still lags but it is much more playable

Did you nerf Jasmine? I swear I remember her being much better, even when she first joins.
Also, and more importantly, did you change how the HQ works? I still get the popup that I can talk to my party, but no one is showing up.
I can't play the game. When on the world map I can move with bad lag for about 5 seconds before everything freezes. This is not a game freeze kind of freeze, but a my screen doesn't seem to update/refresh the image kind of freeze. I can constantly open and close the menu to update the picture and very slowly move in an unbearable manner. I have VX Ace RTP installed and it still not work...
I think I may have found a bug in the biggs and wedge side mission involving the cards. After collecting 10 cards I return to them and it maintains the same dialogue.Also after starting the bacchus garrison quest and recruiting someone, checking the mailbox for the second time will reward you for the Ixion mission once again but with increased gold.

I'm not sure what's going on there. A few people have reported similar issues now, but nothing of that sort came up in testing at all. The world map runs fine for me, so I can't test for a solution. I'll just have to drum something up later, a world map with zero common events, to see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then it would have to be something in the scripts somewhere.

Yes I have an old Pc, but my pc works fine in 100 of other games made by VX ace. I have only hade the same problem in 2 other games and it was only the same problem when i was on world map. I dont know why ???
Same issue here, unfortunately. Also an older lapotp - pretty old I daresay.

The game is running smoothly everywhere but the world map. Once I get on the world map, every step takes about 5 seconds to register. It doesn't slow down my computer, it's just as if the screen wasn't refreshing anymore during that freeze. The music continues playing normally, the movements are being registered immediately, but the result only shows up a few seconds later.

Speaking of things that need removed, there's a crafting token in the inn at Mysidia.
Um...so you may need to take a look at the power of Trigger's Tesla ability.

As for Tesla, what level did you get that at? It's supposed to be a higher level skill. It was added after testing ended, so I may have made a typo when I entered the level he learns it at. I mean, this is assuming that you're not powerleveling.

He's level 15 right now, but he hit that after the boss in question, so I probably got it at 13-14.
Well I just got a brand spanking new laptop for Christmas so well see if my hardware is to blame for the lag. And by not being accessible, was the biggs and wedge side mission removed from the final build?

When I start the game the program goes to full screen but the actual game screen is only in the upper right corner. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
