Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

While the game’s been amazing and wonderfully charming so far, I have to agree with everything Fredo has adressed a few comments up. Bosses have been ridiculously easy so far to the point where I intentionally hold back to make the fight last longer =X

As noted before, that ability was not intended to be obtained so early. You obtained it (and others) by talking to a debug/test NPC that I had forgotten to remove. Trigger isn't supposed to have Tesla until level 52.

Score!! LOL

Hey i'm at vilaheim, the elder isn't in his house and i cant find him can you help me?

I don't have time to address any issues tonight, but I can at least acknowledge the replies!

Sadly did not work, in any case here is my save, maybe you can figure more out:
https://nofile.io/f/AW9FcbPoTMP/Save04.rvdata2

Something's wrong with that file, it's only 15 kb. Save files should be at least around 1 mb (so, of course, the game's not picking it up on my end).

Hi
Now I am playng the 1.02 version.
The world map problem is fixed.
Trigger is level 18 and have tesla.
there is a florest close to zen I went there and took silas in my party, but I didnt have encontered him yet.
Its a bug?

He has tesla because you probably interacted with the NPC I removed from the arena. As for the forest, you're not supposed to be there yet. Looks like I forget to turn on a switch to disable entry to it until a certain point in the game.

So I've been playing off and on since this was released... I don't want to write a review yet because I'm not done and I'm hoping some of these issues solve themselves later, but...
That's A LOT of comment on, and I'm on limited time tonight. Just acknowledging that I DID see your response and I'm going to look through it when I have more time to address issues (probably tomorrow). I skimmed it quickly and see some complaints with things others have commented on already, and those specific things will be addressed soon.

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but Leyton doesn't have an item shop? There's a building with the item shop sign, but it's actually a bar.

I realized after I uploaded the game that Leyton was slightly unfinished. The town will have more in it next time I update.

In the cathedral waterworks how are you supposed to figure out the codes? I had to guess 3 times to get the right one on the first door. I found no clues in the previous areas on what the codes are. Seems like an unfinished puzzle. Unless I totally missed something.

Clues are actually being added in the next update for that.

So, after Eris vs Carina's battle, did Carina permanently die or someone resurrect her?

I mean.... I CAN answer this one if you really want a definitive answer.

I miss one of the six wings but I don't find it, I find Artic Habitat, Riverland Habitat, Hydroponics Lab, Spécimen Chambers and Desert Habitat

Actually, that looks correct. Did you defeat all five bosses and then try to activate the computer terminal in the main hub room?

Have you been instructed to look for him? He's there. Check the walls. ;)
Not sure what to tell you about it being 15 kb, I just downloaded it and used it, works fine, its a 3 mb file
I hate to ruin all the fun (:p) but I found a very beneficial bug in the battle arena.

I paid my 1000,fought as you normally would, and finally lost. After losing, they let me know how much BP and EP I earned. I attempted to go to the save point in the inn, but as soon as I stepped in, I got pulled into an arena battle against a GrandDragon! Of course I died and ended up in usual spot after losing an arena battle. I still ended up getting 1 BP and 1 EP for my losing efforts.

Long story short, I was able to repeat the bug with the enemy changing to other uber leveled beasts, such as CzarBehemoth and Proprietor. It also happened when I stepped inside the item shop too. The only way I was able to break the cycle was by leaving the arena altogether.

I'm gonna miss all of that free EP though!!!

I just want to chime in with general agreement with most of this post.

Especially damage not really being effected by stats. In my save, Hautley has about 850 magic, and another somewhat spoiler-y to name character has about 350. That 500 point difference in magic is translating to an average of about 1000 extra damage with an attack spell.

I'd also ask you to look at enemy health. Getting into frequent random encounters with enemies that have over 100,000 health isn't really difficult so much as tedious.

I also want to say I am definitely enjoying the game, even if the majority of my posts have been bug reports and comments on balance! It's a good game, but I can see the potential for it to be a great one and I just wanna help make that happen!
Question about a boss - may reference minor spoilers

Is Tritoch beatable when you fight him on the boat?
Yes I beat the five bosses and I try to activate the computer terminal in the main hub room but it dont work even with the last version, it's a shame I really want to finish your game.

If you'd like, you can upload your save and I can try to figure out what went wrong when I have time later today.

Yeah, I dunno. I've tried several times, and it's always way too small on my end.

here is my save : Hope you can fix it

For some reason, saves that are from other people are all showing up as just a few kilobytes in size when I download them. Not sure what's going on there.

I'll look at the other maps to see if something was miscalculated by an event somewhere. For now, this is a quick fix for you specifically, put it in your data folder and overwrite the old map: http://www.walagata.com/w/uprc/Map595.rvdata2

Interacting with the console will open the door for you now, as I've removed the requirement for you to have beaten any of the bosses. I'll look into this now and probably ninja-upload a fix for it if I find something wrong since this is a pretty major thing to mess up (not sure why it did so since it was fine for me when I went through the dungeon).

EDIT: Found the offending event. I'll be saying screw it and just uploading a "new" update now just because this needs to be fixed ASAP before other people reach it and cannot continue. Good thing it's at the end of the game!
hey UPRC, im still running the day one release, should i update before i progress further to avoid bugs?

Only reason i haven't updated is because you nerfed the sprint shoes >.>, i've been running them X2 on all my chars, it feels like auto haste lol

Yeeeeaaaah, it's probably safe to say that it would be a good idea. I'd love for everyone to not be running the first version since it has exploits and a test event that I forgot to delete that gave the party abilities that they weren't supposed to obtain until the 30s and up.

Anyway...

Version 1.03
▪ Altered the elemental weaknesses of the big Berona Republic boss to make him susceptible to elemental attacks. Libra will also indicate that he is weak to the elements. His damage is remaining the same. If you have an issue with his damage, try an alternate set-up with your gear.
▪ Fixed a few element settings on various abilities.
▪ Fixed a few typos in the item database.
▪ Fixed an issue in the final dungeon that prevented players from progressing past a certain door.
▪ Fixed an issue that allowed players to enter the Forest of Zen earlier than intended.
▪ Fixed an issue with one of the puzzles in Eternia. Would not reset if player left the room without completing it.
▪ Fixed description of Bolt's dash ability, as it referenced an incorrect character.
▪ Moved an event in the Antlion Den that could cause a fairly minor graphical issue.
▪ Moved RTP installation to its own folder in the documentation and extras folder.
▪ Removed an obsolete line of dialogue from Bacchus Garrison that referred to a removed feature.

NOTE: I pushed this update out immediately because of an issue with an event late in the game that would completely impede player progress past a certain point. This update fixes it. If you don't feel like redownloading the entire game again for the above fixes and just want to remedy the above issue with the event that impedes progress, you can download this map and replace the existing one in your data folder to fix the issue: http://www.walagata.com/w/uprc/Map600.rvdata2

Where? When? This isn't enough information for me to go on.

3. Sapphire - Her abilities are basically level 1 x-magic that require items. This would be fine, if not for the fact that Hautley learned his versions in the single digits and Saphhire is still working on learning these past lv. 20, after Hautley is working on Fire/Ice/Bolt 2. Her other item based abilities are also generally underwhelming because they require a big stack of items for generally ho-hum damage/effects. She finally gets decent after the Forest of Zen bit.

I'd actually disagree quite strongly on this. Sapphire is more than twice as fast as Hautley; meaning that even if it was her ninja "X-Fire1" versus his real "X-Fire2" she might be competitive; but her ninja abilities appear to scale off something else as well (Speed? Vigor?); while her level 15 self was pathetic, even by level 20 she was often outdamaging the real mage spell-by-spell. And her only competition for physical attack damage right now (just cleared Horseman's Rest 30 hours in) are Jasmine-with-2-gauntlets, or whoever's wielding the (double-attacking) Atma Weapon.
I'd pretty much agree with the ratings of other characters; anyone naturally slow is not a good choice. Carina made a better black mage than Hautley too, if you fed her the tomes. Completely agree about Zephyr/Reiner being useless for much of the game, though my Zephyr is (finally!) starting to receive some boosts appropriate for the game's main character to have.

Sapphire starts out awful, becomes kinda decent, and then drops off a cliff in terms of usefulness.

The summoners end up basically necessary, and using both of them is not a terrible idea by the late game.
Quick question: What is your motive behind naming the spells off of numbers versus the more recent renditions (-a, -aga, etc)? I always found the latter a lot less confusing/cluttered, and I'm guessing this is mere preference but just curious.

I'm up to Lenadia. I'd like to echo a few others and say the game has been cakewalk so far, but kudos to you for including the Moogle Charm and being able to disable random encounters whenever you want. Still, the bosses are really easy because it seems they act every 2-3 turns I get. Often times I pepper them with all kinds of attacks, they are able to get one attack in, then their next attack hits the entire group, then they die before getting another turn in. I have a feeling you meant for bosses like Rudra and Fenrir to be a lot tougher than they really were. That being said, I do remember having trouble with Shiva when I played the version a few years ago, so maybe this whole thing will remedy itself.

Loving the game though. It's also apparent that the map design and story get a lot better as you play on. Lindblum was slightly boring, Ivalice was better, and Lenadia already seems to be shaping up to be a much better arc.

EDIT: In Lenadia Castle, King Edward's sprite changes to Locke when speaking to him. It remains that way until you exit the room and come back at which point it turns back to his original sprite.

Encountered 2 probably bugs:

- As far as I can tell, *NOTHING* is immune to Zephyr's Blackflight summon - every boss I encountered tonight was fully susceptible to its Demi. I hit a certain climactic boss for 125,000! This is almost surely a bug, right?

- After downloading 1.03, I was able to accepted hunt marks. Finally - the first 5 or so died in a few hits, and it wasn't until #9 that there was a serious challenge. But when I accepted #10, Anima, I was told he was "somewhere near Neirbrook" - he's not. No tile visible; and I walked over every tile that could conceivably be considered nearby. Nothing. A bug? Not unlocked til the story progresses? I reverted to the save before I accepted mark#10.

A question: After putzing around through the world for awhile, I found that I could really use some Dark Matter. Um ... anyone know where it is? Or can you at least let me know by what point in the game I should have it? I found the other two items almost by accident - and I'm worried I missed the Matter somewhere. Especially since it was listed second, before the Candle.

And an observation: I don't know if there's an infinite supply of them coming up, but for Bahamut's sake, anyone reading this, make sure you bring Bolt along to the
rematch with Ixion
. He can steal a Dualwielder Materia. Give that and a Genji Glove to anyone, and they're suddenly attacking 4 times, all of them significantly stronger than their regular attack...
