Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

Exciting, but ultimately pointless.

I found a bug with the Plus patch.

I hit the third world map, did some side-stuff (including getting all the optional characters and Lukahn's Lab) and when I try to get on Winter I get an error message and the game crashes.

Who did you have as your party leader?

Silas. Then I tried it again as Zephyr and it happened with him as well.

Strange, that shouldn't be happening. I'll look into it.

Ugh... I'm about two hours in and the "flavor" that this game is trying to pull just isn't doing it for me. It's trying to be funny and throw in references to the memetic Final Fantasy series, but it's too on-the-nose. The gameplay is just sort of there and now I'm in a dark cave, which just screams unnecessary to me. If I can't crank out a review, at least I've got plenty of notes to throw around.

I just "finished" my second "session" and I've been playing for 01:42:56 and am level 5.

I completed three and a half "sessions", clocking in at 3 hours, 42 minutes and 32 seconds. I reached the Mandatory Optional Colosseum and just emotionally crashed. The review will come up whenever I can get it together. I've got all my notes to fall back on and I feel like I can pretty much summarize the whole experience and where I can see it going and am confident enough to give it a final score based on what I've seen.

If you have thought the Colosseum is the arena, the latter is at Mysidia.
The Colosseum is mainly to gather some (later rare) summons for your Rainer and (forgot his name).
Hurray, I finally got around to re-playing, and trying out the Plus-patch.
I found a few bugs related to new content:
- Gau is wandering around your airship long before you can acquire him; though he can't be added to your party
- During a number of cutscenes - most notably in the ending - Zephyr's dragoon armour flashes between the old color and the new one
- Edric, Carina, and Godot were available characters for Sapphire's Scenario (which I did last)
- Attempting to rename Jossley (at least when having all 18 characters) renames Loxley instead

I enjoyed the new content; but I wound up absolutely curb-stomping it. If there's ever a re-balancing, some loopholes to keep in mind:
- Speed is the most important stat. By a lot. I mean by a lot, a lot. There is basically no reason to ever equip a piece of armor that doesn't raise speed.
- This is very apparent with accessories; nearly all of them wind up totally unused. Early game there is no reason not to equip two sprint shoes to everyone; mid-game 2 elven charms; and late game running shoes and a genji glove, with maybe a ribbon on the healer.
- Also in character choice; you'd have to be foolish to not bring Bolt and Sapphire along to everything you possibly can. (I eventually ended the game with Vera and Jossley in the other 2 slots.)
- Bolt, in particular, levels up insanely quickly compared to everyone else. He got Aero3 before I was able to get full access to level2 spell-tomes; and he was level 99 well before the end of the game, while Sapphire was ~80 and everyone else was in the mid60s or early 70s.
- The Arena is a massive, massive gamebreaker:
- If you seriously go for any of its rewards, you will eventually be routinely facing off against monsters from the last map of the game. Who give insanely large amounts of EXP. I started with Vera having just joined at level 40; she was 62 by the time I had the items I wanted.
- One-third of the top-tier battles are versus 2 Dark Elves and a Roper. Each Dark Elf is guaranteed to drop a Virtuoso Materia. Win this battle at least twice, and you never have to worry about MP again.
- Getting multiple vigilance and X-mastery materias is pretty strong...

- And this might count as a bug; it's definitely imbalanced. The Genji Glove interacts strangely with Multi-Attack items:
- Sapphire, Dual-Wielding 2 Katanas gets 4 attacks per round (and a massive boost to Solar Storm...)
- Bolt, wielding the Valkyrian Edge(+1atk) and any other dagger gets 8?
- Jossley, wielding the Perfect Atma(+2atk) and the Lionheart(+1atk) gets ... 10?
- Jossley, wielding the Perfect Atma(+2atk) and a normal weapon also gets 10.
- No idea why this is happening; but it makes the party just dice up random encounters. And bosses even moreso.

Anyway, I obviously enjoyed the game, if I played all the way through twice. Good job!
I just got back from the past and was wondering who has the Zangan, Kluya, Morrid and Yura cards. Are they somewhere in Lindblum?

In my guide (page 48 of this summary) I have listed all rare cards when encountering a player.
One of them wasn't playable during my try but until that I have fought and defeated all.

Thank you, I was able to obtain them. I'm confused now because I got the ring from Alduin and went back to Alexandria Castle but can't find the quarters you mention on the first floor. The second floor has a guard blocking some chambers and the first floor doesn't seem to have any doors I haven't been through yet...

You have to talk to the Alexandrian King in Lindblum Castle and then the guard on the 2nd floor of Alexandria Castle will vanish and you can enter the last room.
You need the latest version of the game.
I was never able to find the Angel Wing for a certain thing you can do involving 3 items and a locket (spoilers are no fun). Did I just pass it up somewhere? I looked in the guide, and it is NOT there.

Poke around the Mysidian Quarter in Alexandria. It'll show up. ;)
This explains a lot.

I had gotten WAY passed the first visit to Alexandria when I first played in December. Then, my computer crashed, and I didn't pick it back up til last month. I remembered I had gotten passed Alexandria before, so I sped through to new territory.

Unless you can't get it til the last act, in which case I didn't miss it by speeding through. Thanks.
Can someone tell me the best set up for Ozma? Characters, equipment, strategy, etc?
