Latest Update: Version 1.09 (August 13, 2018)

One hundred years after the events of Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

Feel free to post demo bugs/issues here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/5722/demo/

Known Issues:
1. Cid's blinking/surprised sprites do not align with his idle sprite.
2. Reiner incorrectly refers to Eldin Farabrandt rather than Keren Farabrandt in Neirbrook.

I read "blinking" as "bikini". What the heck is wrong with me?

Aside of that: Zephyr in bikini would be funny to see. ;P

Hey, you get to dress him up as a girl at one point. That's close enough!

I guess I'll just resolve to making a fan art of Zephyr in a bikini, then!

So I played the game from the beginning, did a new save but it ocurred again.
I think it is a bug!!

Yeah, don't use old saves. They're definitely incompatible.

What were you doing when the crash occurred on the new save?

Thanks for letting me know when it's happening to you. Seems to be a world map issue, so it could be the mode 7 script since it's the only map script that is continuously active. How often does the crashing occur? Is it rare for you? Or common?
Now that you mention it, I dropped the mode 7 script from FFD because of random RGSS Player crashes.

I've only had a few crashes since I started working on the game. I'm wondering if the frequency/severity of the crashes varies from system to system myself.

I might try removing the Mode 7 script to see if that fixes it. May as well also poke around to see if there's been any word from the script author yet, or any new updates.
It crashes the player so it's probably something in the required DLL files. I'd cut it for now to reduce crashes, and just keep an eye on updates and test through development to see if it becomes stable.
Hi, its me again,
hope i am helping.
I trashed my old game and unzipped a new one, it seemed to work, but after i went in a quest for bigs ( the lycosadae one) and went to the dungeon the game crashed again, after a fight with two lycosadae,
thanks, andre

Okay, uploaded something that should help with the crashes.
From what I experienced while playing the June 2014 demo:
*SPOILERS START*
  • Jasmid/JasminexCid is now my new OTP! The way Cid hits on the poor "girl", fails miserably, yet still continues his act is awesome!
  • Whenever Ezra gets a mention, I get all emotional, in a good way of course.
  • I like how you direct Carina's character development: despite being all caring and such, she wants others (or to be precise: a certain group) suffer. I bet there'll be some Graviton ass kicking from Carina. ;)
  • Jasmine's growth is rather peculiar; in the original she was just there for the sake of "secret characters", while in the sequel she gains quite much personality. And when she talks about that being hero isn't a part-time job, but her 'destiny' of sorts it reminds me of Yuna who initially wants to distance herself from the world, but in the end she ends up saving the world again.
  • The amount of humour is killing me: the randomness, yet 'accuracy' of it, is just hilarious. There was something in the ship talk between Jasmine and Edric that I really found funny and would gladly mention it here, but alas I don't have RMVXAce so I can't peek into the game and check what it actually was.

*SPOILERS END*

Glad to know you're having fun! I really enjoy making Cid have humourous interactions, especially with Jasmine. Before I started writing, I thought that Hautley would be the comic relief. Jasmine sort of seems to be filling that role, but she wouldn't be able to do it on her own. She definitely needs other characters such as Cid or Edric to bounce of off.
Also, I'd like to compliment on the tracks that your composer, well, composes:
  • "Battle Song" sounds like something you'd hear in Final Fantasy VI; I'm sure there are a lot of people who already love that track.
  • "Sinister Theme" is so ominous I love it!

There are few others I liked, but haven't 'encountered' them in-game, or can't remember if they played already.

I need to improve Carina's sprite because her hand in side movement and the way she walk up are awful. But it brings me joy knowing that even a tiniest piece of my work is used by someone. ;)

Yeah, Brandon's tunes are really fantastic. I've never been happier to have someone working with me than him because his compositions are just getting better and better all the time, and he's helped out with lots of testing and provided some excellent design feedback over time as well. He's seriously been insanely invaluable.

I tried the crash fix, but the save data is not working anymore!!
Is it all right or did I do something wrong?
Thanks
