Latest Update: Version 1.5 (January 23, 2021)

One hundred years after the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, the world of Gaia has recovered from the conflict with Emperor Belmont, Malacore, and Zeul which saw a group of adventurers, today known as the Light Warriors, save the world from certain doom.

The rebuilt Lindblum Kingdom stands proudly as the world's fastest growing economical and military force. With the fierce backing of Esperkind behind the kingdom, it appeared that nothing would disrupt the immense prosperity that Lindblum was experiencing until Esperkind suddenly turned against Lindblum. The game follows the adventures of a young Augurer (specially trained anti-Esper monster summoner) named Zephyr Highwind who is forced to abandon his simple lifestyle of looking after Winter, a white chocobo which belonged to his deceased sister Ezra. With new friends aiding him, Zephyr seeks to put an end to the rising hostilities between Lindblum and the Espers, led by Ramuh, before the conflict engulfs the entire globe.

Blackmoon Prophecy II features twelve main characters, five optional characters, and two guest characters. Expected playtime should be in the range of 40+ hours.

Check out Blackmoon Prophecy across the internet for lots of progress updates and screenshots not shown on RMN (in order to prevent spamming the front page/everyone's notices).

I just reuploaded it. The world map music will play. After some more testing, I had to delete all parallel process events from the world map and reset the music for the map. Just watched Thomas test it on Discord and it's working for him.

So only download it if you're having those issues. Otherwise, proceed as normal!

the world map music is changing now.
Thanks
A few viewers on my stream of the game noted that the initial text scroll in the beginning of the game was moving too quickly for them to read everything.

Reiner’s cloak when you can name him also changes color. :P
Here are a few more things I found:
-The Magitek and Poison materia say they increase a stat called Tenacity, but it looks like it raises luck.
-When riding Winter with Bolt as the lead if you face right or up part of Winter's feet appear above Bolt's head.
-Not sure if this counts but at the pawn shops you can occasionally buy DNA that used to be used to create the Augerer summons, unless it does something different now.
-Bolt's second limit break says it attacks twice but you actually attack 3 times.
-When using the Buel summon, (Viral Fang I think it was called) the monster summoned does not match the monster that drops the materia.
-In Clean Sweep's description is says you summon an Aquila, but the materia name is Anguiform.
-Trigger's second limit break only costs 60 LP instead of 70.
-The Astra Materia says it increases vitality, but it increases luck.
-In Fahlud Castle's first screen there is a room on the right where you can walk through a clock.
hey somehow i got lost haha, im at lindblum and i think i just finished the bit at the mages square, lindblum castle is blocked off by two guards, where do i go from here?

There is a guy in red (I think) near the top of the market district. He is a Graviton (?) Fanatic. After talking to him he will move and you can access the Garrison.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II - Possible World Map Black Screen/Lag Fix: https://rpgmaker.net/games/5722/downloads/9600/

If you are experiencing issues on the world map, test this modified scripts file. According to Thomas Stout, who has been having issues with the world map, it worked for him. If you test this file out, let me know if it worked. Place it in your data folder. Backup your original scripts file if you wish to preserve battle backgrounds on the world map.

I've added both files to the folder and now I'm getting this error:
http://tinypic.com/r/xmu2i8/9

I will try again by just exchanging the world map.
Btw everyone, make sure you check every barrel/crate/ pot lol. There's little secrets everywhere, this game is awesome.

You can occasionally buy items in a pawn shop for significantly less than they sell.

Just now, I found Dew Drops for 32 each, and they can be sold for 100 each.

Yeah, pawn shops have custom prices. It's intentional. Being able to sell dew drops for more than you can buy them for at pawn shops is NOT intentional though. Dew drops aren't super useful, so I'll just lower their value.

Yup, noticed that later myself! It will be red in the underwater bits as well. I've actually fixed it already, but it's just not in the available download yet.

Most of that stuff is the result of the game changing over time and will be addressed.

Strange. I watched Thomas Stout was having the black screen issue and swapped out the files for the ones in that download, and it corrected the issue for him. Try ignoring the script file in the download and just replace the map.

Anyway, should have a download up over the next 24 hours that fixes everything found so far.

I maybe should've added that I get this error when starting the first battle in the game, that is, when the two goblins attack you on the road. Didn't test how the script works when already on the world map.
Just replacing the world map however, albeit not fixing the issue entirely, helped massively. It's still stuttering, but the actions are shown immediately now, so it became playable. Thanks :)

Okay. Well, regardless, I removed the edited script file from the archive. I'm taking that download down as well, as it will be available in the next download that I'll be uploading soonish.
The Dream Blade and Francisca don't increase Magic like the description says.

Silas' Blade Gleam can be parried with a shield.
I'm getting a bit of lag in town, and when I step out onto the world map it goes black until I press cancel. Then it lags to the point of freezing, until I hit menu, then I see my character has moved to a new spot and it's fine, until I close the menu.

I downloaded your fix on the previous page and added it to the Data file, loaded my game and it's still occuring. Do I need to start a new game?

Too bad, I could see myself playing this, but as of now it's unplayable.

Google Drive download has been updated, Mediafire download being tended to as I type this. Most of the issues found so far have been fixed, some I'm holding off on.

Version 1.01
▪ A spider web in the Lycosidae Grotto incorrectly displayed as a table.
▪ Added a credits file in the game's folder to make it clear which content was created specifically for this game. Contact the respective artists for permission to use the assets.
▪ Added a small "patch" for users who experience severe lag and/or black screens on the world map. This is located in the game's folder as worldfix.rar and must be manually applied. Back up existing files just in case it does not help you.
▪ Corrected stat bonuses of Dream Blade.
▪ Corrected stat bonuses of Francisca.
▪ Corrected a text error in the description of Bolt's limit Gambit.
▪ Corrected the LP cost of Trigger's second limit (Shrapnel Shot).
▪ Decreased value of dew drops from 200 to 60.
▪ Edric's Rally ability incorrectly restored HP instead of MP.
▪ Fixed a few instances where items referenced tenacity and vitality stats, both of which had been changed to luck.
▪ Fixed a tile passability issue in Faluhd Castle.
▪ Fixed an error that caused Vaporite to incorrectly use summon animation when using Vapor Trail.
▪ Fixed an error that caused the wrong sprite to display for Ezra during a flashback.
▪ Fixed an error with Blade Gleam that allowed party members to unintentionally block it.
▪ Fixed an error where Reiner's cape would briefly appear as red instead of green.
▪ Fixed description for Cleansweep summon. Referenced incorrect monster.
▪ Fixed teleport in Barrington that caused Rosetta Stone door to lead to a different shop.
▪ Fixed the animation for Viral Fang, as it showed an outdated monster graphic for the Buel enemy that has since been replaced.
▪ Jasmine could appear with diving gear after the Lindblum Reef portion of the game.
▪ Flan Tetra Master card cost 0 gold. Correctly adjusted price to 10 gold.
▪ Removed DNA (obsolete item) from pawn shops.
▪ Removed a debug/test event from the arena that grants players miscellaneous abiltiies for level 30-50 characters.
▪ Removed a chest from Neirbrook that contained debug/test items. Only reachable in test play, but removing seemed like a good thing to do regardless.
▪ Removed Mode 7 dll files since the Mode 7 script was removed some time ago. The dll files served no function.
▪ Removed all of Biggs' trading cards, as they are remnants of a removed side quest.

Try entering a location and then going back to the world map. That fixed it for Thomas. It disables player tracking on the mini-map and you can't see who is riding Winter when you get on her, but it does seem to fix the black screen issue. Thinking it might be processor related (maybe) since Thomas's processor is only 1.8 GHz and VX Ace's specs ask for 2.0 GHz.

It didn't work, tried multiple times to re-enter town. Kind of hard to search for other locations playing like that.

I doubt it's my processor, it's 1.9 but it's quad core. That 0.1 seems unlikely to cause the game to come to a compete halt.

Well, I honestly can't say. I've removed world map scripts and parallel process events. Removing scripts seemed to have no effect, while removing the events worked for Thomas. I can keep looking around for a solution, but I honestly have no idea what else I can actually do in the meantime and it's impossible for me to test since I've never had this problem on my PC.

Do you have an Nvidia video card by chance? I've seen a few reports of people experiencing similar black screen issues on Nvidia cards, and they all seem to either update their drivers or restore previous drivers to fix it. This is the only thing I can really think of since finding any other instances of this occurring with other VX Ace games hasn't been as easy as I expected.
