Attack of the Cameos

Recently, I've changed my stance on cameos in Blackmoon Prophecy II. Originally, only Terra would appear in the replica of Arvis' house located in Dawnmarch. This eased a bit when I added Locke appearing in a similar fashion in the town of Barrington, and now with Squall being present, I've decided that cameos can actually be fun!

So I want to know, who would you guys like to see show up in cameo form? I'll consider characters from the following games. Click the hide tags to see which major characters I'll consider. If a character isn't listed, it's for one of these reasons:
1. They could conflict with something in the game in some way (name/sprite/etc) or take attention away from certain PCs/NPCs.
2. They are too unfamiliar to me, or they don't have enough to work with to make a decent cameo.
3. They are too prominent of a villain.
4. They already appeared in the first Blackmoon Prophecy.

Note that this doesn't include prominent monsters from each game such as Demon Wall (FF4) or Whelk (FF6). I'll take any monster if it sounds like a good idea! At the very least, these suggestions could show up as mini-bosses in dungeons.

I'd love it if Eiko from FF9 appeared in the game. I really liked her.
I totally vote for anyone from Mystic Quest. It'd be a great cameo because it'd be obscure enough that some players might not get it, but to those who do it'd be awesome.

At the end of the game Benjamin and Tristam sailed off into the sunset in search of adventure, so they'd be perfectly suited to appear, too!
Keeping in line with BP's 16-bit aesthetics, I'd only vote for a character from the SNES era. Then again, Square Enix has made it their business to include later characters in 16-bit graphical form in a lot of their new mobile games, so the sprites are there!

Personally, I'd like to see FFV Mid or FFV Faris. I also don't feel that the Ivalice characters get enough love from SE, so I'd also put in a vote for Marche from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Freya or even Fratley too. Get some furry representation for a couple of under-appreciated characters.
From what I heard Mystic Quest isn't even a part of the FF Canon.. It was a stand alone game in Japan that they slapped FF name onto in order to increase sales..

As for who I would like to see... Shadow and Interceptor.. You can even have a little side quest where Dog is trying to find its master because they got separated.
My picks:
  • Final Fantasy V: Faris Scherwiz (I even made her a sprite some time ago)
  • Final Fantasy VI: Lone Wolf the Pickpocket, Kappa.
  • Final Fantasy VII: Reno (but with him appearing it would be only logical to include Rude as well).
  • Final Fantasy IX: Beatrix (I even have a sprite for her which I found some time ago on (I think) a French website so I could share it), Stiltzkin (he's a "trademark" moogle; it would be sad if he didn't make it it).
  • Final Fantasy X: Lulu (I even have a sprite for her as well)
  • Final Fantasy XIII: Jihl Nabaat.

Yep, heavy preference over ladies here, and not just because they're pretty: they can kick ass. I realise that putting everyone from my pick/wish list is not possible because that would be an overwhelming number of cameos, but also the included characters should somehow fit the plot.

Also, if you need any help with FFVI SNES style sprites you can send me a message.

Exciting, but ultimately pointless.

Hey, feel free to toss links my way of any FF6 style sprites you're aware of!

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Final_Fantasy_Record_Keeper_Sprite_ImagesLots of character sprite sheets in 16-bit FFVI style here.
Still, they need standard walk frames. ;P But for a start it's good.

True, but I was looking at some of them and it wouldn't be hard to create the required sprites. Quistis' sprite for instance.

I have Quistis's sprite on my drive, although no source site to go with it (since I haven't noted it anywhere). ;_; I have FFVII-FFIX sprites done in FFVI SNES style for all party members + Seph, Edea, Kiros, Laguna, Seifer, Ward, and Beatrix, but like I said before, no documented source site. (I think the sprites might actually be of Japanese origin since the file names are pretty much romaji of their names, but I got the sprites from a non-Japanese site.)

Well, feel free to toss them my may if you want! With the main characters all having four costumes in total, the fourth costume for each is a throwback costume of a character from FF4 to FF9. I'll two obvious ones, Hautley's fourth costume is Great Sage (Tellah) and Sapphire's is Materia Hunter (Yuffie).
I have only played FFIV from the ones listed, so I'll choose Tellah, since he seemed like a cool stoner (he would probably be even more awesome if the English writer/translator was a bit more motivated).

From the rather large list of accepted Final Fantasy mainstream game I am actually surprised you played only Final Fantasy IV; I played that game a bit, got to the Underworld to the Tower of Babil and kinda stopped; I'm not the fan of character writing or story-pacing there so it didn't really "got" into me. Not to play the ever popular Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII is quite a shocker too.
I haven't played much RPGs in general, since I kind of skipped/miss the golden era of JRPGs (sadly). My first ever FF game was Blackmoon Prophecy, which I thought was SO much better than FFIV. Also, I stopped right before the final dungeon since I heard that the final boss was insanely difficult and required many grinding hours. Since I didn't enjoy the game all that much, I suppose I just lost the interest and motivation.

Final Fantasy IX seems like a nice one to try out sometime though.
I would love to stick it to Tristam from FF Mystic Quest for stealing my grappling hook in the beginning of the game all those years ago :P Maybe you could have him try to take a chest from you at some point.
Apologies, I seem to have posted that three times somehow >_>

I don't remember having much difficulty with the final boss in Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy, possibly because I was quite well leveled. And the final boss wasn't that much interesting
no form shifting whatsoever.

Yes! Final Fantasy IX is by far the best entry in the main series in my opinion so you should definitely try it!
