What was old is new again.
Oh, hi Gilgamesh.
Hey, this is new.
A wild Reuben appears.
The first Blackmoon Prophecy had its Plus! patch. I decided to do something like that again.
A mysterious desert! The fans, as well as several other objects not pictured, are fully animated. Kind of a neat place to walk around in.
This place has certainly seen better days.
Gaia as seen from space.
A familiar face returns via flashblack.
That's right, dark dungeons make a return from the first game. Prepare to get lost! On the bright side, some nice treasure may be hiding in the darkness.
Clearly these dungeons are closer to the end than the beginning based on appearances alone.
Good luck trying to figure this one out.
WHY WON'T YOU STAY DEAD!?
I realized, just today, that there was no single target holy spell in Blackmoon Prophecy II. So, I brought back the White spell from the first game. Only difference? It is now just like the Dia limit, only it targets a single enemy and costs 5% of max MP.
Welp, that just happened! This fellow hits all enemies for approximately 20,000+ (I am on my phone, if picture is HUGE, I will resize it when I am at my PC)
A WIP location. Many waterfalls and resevoirs of water await. Watch out for float eyes, great behemoths and revenants!
For once, this is NOT a screenshot of me simply testing the airship in Mode 7. As of the current point in the game, the player has this wonderful mode of travel available to them!
Airship!
Cast of Blackmoon Prophecy II. Avee is awesome. He did all of these except one (Godot's, in which i tried to mimic his style with a Setzer edit).
Sapphire, the hyperactive ninja, dressed as a scientist... but why?
As you progress through the ranks in the Berona City Tetra Master tournaments, familiar faces will start to pop up!
The idea was tossed around for the longest while, but I'm finally working on a card tournament that will feature actual rewards.
A flashback in a location that those who reached the end of the first game may recognize.
Going to be adding some ice debris tiles but, for now, Sapphire's scenario in the Berona Republic starts off a little chilly!
Behemoths have become rampant. They can be fought all over the Berona Republic. Enjoy!
Hey, look guys! Fanatics!
The malboro, everyone's favourite pain in the ass! Unlike in the first game, I've made them show up at an appropriate part of the game this time. They're pretty frustrating, too!
Gotta love all these non-FF6 monster sprites that are being injected into the game! Tons of thanks to Noel_Kriss and WCouillard for linking me to them over time.
Summon a dragon! Because who doesn't want a pet dragon? I mean, seriously. Come on.
Up to date world map.
Look familiar?
I couldn't help myself, I had to throw the party underwater again... BUT WHY?
Augurer summons are now equipped rather than learned. This sort of mimics how summons worked in FF6 and FF7.
Judging by some of the newer screens, you'd think that I'm on drugs now or something. I promise that I'm not.
This just keeps getting stranger and stranger.
Gasp! What is that!? Fairy? Ghost? Spirit? ... Mr. Burns?
This is what happens when you put Sapphire in front, she winds up leading you to places like this. Damn it, Sapphire...
The damage from Vahn's level 30 limit, Moon Beam, after being used on ghost enemies (the limit is holy elemental). These numbers at level 30 made my brain melt.
Alternate costumes are officially a thing now that several characters (the four pictured plus Jasmine) have access to them.
I love this map, since the waterfall is animated like in FF6. Plus it's just cool having villains meet in such a pleasant place!
To the people who raged at the Quetzalcoatl fight in the first Blackmoon Prophecy before it was nerfed... get ready to rage again, because this fight almost made me cry.
Hurrah, mountains!
Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.
The Lete River tiles from FF6 transformed into a usable tileset with a few extras.
Chocobo prints on the ground indicate that a treasure is nearby that another chocobo was trying to find. Search high and low with Winter when you see them!
Using an item called a chocographer, the player can find buried treasures that Winter can dig up. Some treasures will be harder than others to excavate.
Deja vu?
Blackmoon Prophecy II now has tons of new sprites from Final Fantasy Pictlogia/Record Keeper. Thanks to WCouillard for tipping me off to them.
That girl in the picture looks awfully familiar...
It only took almost a year, but characters now have sprites for when they are near death! Many thanks to RydiaMist for implementing the scripting for this!
Details in the picture itself. Thanks to RydiaMist for implementing this stuff for me!
For those who don’t want to buy magic tomes and possibly regret using them on certain characters! Materia is much more expensive than magic tomes, but the fact that they can be unequipped from a character at any time is a major bonus.
Some place have gone to hell in the 100 years that have passed since the first game.
Sapphire's version of the Throw command. Scroll abilities require ninja scrolls. Purchase them at most item shops. One scroll is consumed when an ability is used.
The Village of Zen returns with even more Asian influence than before.
Libra is now added! Currently trying to figure out how the name is displayed, but other than that? Fully functional. If any scripters want to tell me how to fix the name being scrunched up, I'd be in their debt!
Because linking the two games together is fun!
The only town anyone ever asked about whether or not it was returning for the sequel. Yup. Auslen is back, now with 100% more Zozo.
Gilgamesh shows up in certain dungeons throughout the game and offers to give you a weapon of your choice if you defeat him in a friendly spar. Lose too many times and he'll leave you hanging!
Like trivia? Think you know the game's setting pretty well? Then have a go at the trivia game in Alexandria, which includes over 100 questions.
Zephyr's just walking down Rose Road in Alexandria, minding his own business and... hey, wait a second...
Never forget!
The flashbacks continue!
Wait a second, which game am I working on again? ....... oh yeah!
So I didn't hit print screen during whatever the animation was, but the brat is finally in (as something that is actually playable now).
Under the sea, under the sea, darling it’s better down where it’s wetter, take it from me. Up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away while we devotin’ full time to floatin’ under the sea!
Holy custom content, Batman! Portraits by Avee. So far, he has completed Zephyr, Hautley, Jasmine, Carina, Edric.
Edric's starting abilities. Bloom restores HP based on his attack/defense stats, cover should be obvious, and his starting limit is a high damaging attack that may KO. Also, custom portrait by Avee! Watch for many more soon.
This is legit.
Hey, that's not Zephyr! Once a certain point in the game is reached, Zephyr can be removed from the party. Thanks to WCouillard, other characters can now also appear on the back of Winter.
What would a Final Fantasy fangame be without crystals?
This is harder than it may look, partly because the fire shield on Ifrit constantly heals him until you destroy it... and then it comes back again! Woohoo!
A colour oriented puzzle in Echo Temple. Step on the gemmed tile in the center and a colour combination will flash on the displays by the door. Touch the orbs in the order the colours appear to unlock the door.
Carina makes her appearance. Also showing off the neat sprite that Noel_Kriss made for her a little while back!
Introduction of the burn status condition. It's like poison, but depletes more HP over time AND makes the character more susceptible to fire elemental attacks. Status icon IS temporary.
Let's go hunting! The Hunter's Guild, based out of New Lantz, assigns marks for the player to pursue at their own leisure.
I intend on having flashbacks for pretty much every character to help develop them. This is part of a flashback Hautley has.
This is the actual difficulty of this fight. Yes, it's a fight you're not supposed to lose.
The wonderful pirate infested coastal town of the first game, Costa del Vita, makes a return.
Because obviously not everyone is going to understand Triple Triad rules if they haven't played FF8. Hurrah for visual examples!
Triple Triad disguised as Tetra Master? Aw yeah.
A familiar face to players of the first game.
Old school animations! Currently in the process of ditching VX Ace RTP animation files.
A humingway! They will be tied to the Triple Triad card game whenever the script for it is complete. These guys jump around and make a lot of noise. In other words, they are meant to be CUTE. Adore them. Now.
That's right, headquarters customization. Players can furnish it and attract new NPCs to move in, which increases your monetary reward from some side quests. Imagine Skyrim's Hearthstone DLC plus recruiting NPCs for a Breath of Fire village.
SPOONY THOU.
Finally got around to adding limits. LG = Limit Gauge. Exploder is Zephyr's first limit, it inflicts MASSIVE damage. Upwards of 400 when his regular attacks do 70-100 at the start of the game.
This is Ixion, the first boss of the game. If you don't watch your HP, you'll get game over. Quickly.
THEY RETURN.
Characters are introduced in the same style as FF6. The screen will turn black before their screen moves to the middle of the screen, followed by text describing them and then allowing the player to rename them.
Mini-map is go! You can't quite see the indicator on the map saying where the player is, but it's very evident when playing because it blinks and sticks out quite well.
