Let's go hunting! The Hunter's Guild, based out of New Lantz, assigns marks for the player to pursue at their own leisure.

Oh! Something like Clan Centurio Hall from Final Fantasy XII!

"THE NEW MARK!" pic doesn't suit the graphical style of the game; looks too...cutie.

Nice recolour of the Wing Raptor.

I am really happy you are doing marks, this is going to keep me occupied for a while!!

Exciting, but ultimately pointless.

And what follows New Lantz and its Hunter's Guild side quests? The Augurer Colosseum and its Pokemon minigame! That will be what I'll be working on over the next day or two. I need to sprite some more monsters for it. I already have bombs and tonberries done. These are from scratch too, not rips.
So how are the systems gonna work for it? Will it be only for monsters you capture? Will they have abilities they can learn?

That's still being worked on. There are several different type of monsters you'll be able to find, all of them relatively small since I'm spriting them by myself and I don't want to strain myself with BIG monster sprites. They'll have their own special attacks that they might use when they're duking it out. Players will be able to feed their monsters to increase their HP, attack, and frequency of which they use their specials.
I like the mission mark mission as well. Ironically, this and final fantasy discovery have very similar systems, seems like you guys are gonna go head to head for best final fantasy fan game. Although, I know you guys are actually helping one another on each others games anyway. I'm looking forward to both of your projects.

Ah, I wouldn't quite say that. Discovery aims to emulate far, far, faaaar more systems than I do. WCouillard's well above mine in terms of what he's doing with it on a technical level. :p
I'm getting the feeling UPRC's Marks are part of a more open-world, player-driven mechanic where they can choose how and when to hunt Marks, whereas Discovery's plays it more as a side-quest that's done in a specific order.

I'm gonna make that Wing Raptor my bitch, in any event.

Hey UPRC, any chance of having Marks show up as Augerer abilities after they're defeated?

Yeah, my marks are just like they were in XII. You're told "GO KILL THIS!" Go out, kill it, come back, get reward. Rinse and repeat, pretty much.

I already have the Augurer abilities plotted out, but that's not a bad idea. I'll look back at the marks I've got planned (already have battle graphics for all twelve and a rough idea of what they'll all do). Definitely a decent idea, I'd probably just have to shuffle the skills in the database a bit since I'm trying to keep them in alphabetical order when the player opens their menus.
