The release for Chapter One of the Seven Seals is coming very, very soon.

As of this blog post, all available classes have had their stats and skills finalized, all areas are mapped, and most (~95%) of the dialog has been written.

All that remains is to tweak enemy skills somewhat, put the finishing touches on a boss fight, and polish in-game areas with minor touches like lighting, water splashes, and the like.

Then, due to the customizable nature of the game, playtesting will take a little longer than usual. This is to make sure that all classes feel unique and useful in the long-term. Just to clarify: all classes have been balanced in battle situations and have numbers that make sense with the game's difficulty curve and enemy scaling. This testing is to see how they function over about 4-5 hours of gameplay.

I'm not one to place hard deadlines on releases and, given the holidays, I'm not sure how much work I can realistically put in over the next few weeks, but my personal goal is to see the first chapter released by the new year.

If you've subscribed, thank you! If you haven't, that's okay too. It's hard to subscribe to a game that lacks a download, but that issue will be fixed soon.
This project has sat on my hard drive and gathered dust for almost exactly four years and, while I hope people will play The Seven Seals and enjoy it, I just feel good having moved a bare-bones game I envisioned all the way back in high school a little closer to release. (Seriously though, it's crazy. I've done more work on this project in the last month than I did for four whole years. How's that for a hiatus?)
