FAQ

Q. What party should I use?
A. Any party you want! While certain combinations work better together, the game can be beaten with any combination of characters. Each chapter includes a set of pre-built heroes from a variety of different classes. You can change their classes or play with them as is. You cannot ever change the class of the four "main" heroes - Marcia, Errol, Rhuan, or Nia

However, common sense applies. A party of Marcia and 3 Warriors is going to be much more difficult to excel with than Marcia, a Paladin, a Black Mage, and a Pirate. Remember that classes have different strengths and weaknesses and there is no single 'best' class.

Q. I think I found a bug or an error. What should I do?
A. The Seven Seals is a big game and I'm a one-man dev team, so this is bound to happen occasionally. If the problem is minor and doesn't prevent you from advancing, make a note of it and let me know, either by posting on this game page or via PM, so I can fix it later. If the problem prevents you from advancing, send me a PM right away and I'll take a look at the issue and fix it ASAP.

Q. I really like/dislike/love/hate/have an opinion on this game. Can I leave a review?
A. Respectfully, I ask that a formal review wait until the game is complete. If you have strong or detailed feedback on elements of the game, please post them to the gamepage or, ideally, PM me. I want this game to be a success, so I'm very open to feedback within reason - i.e. if you suggest that the Monk is too strong and could be rebalanced, I'll take your suggestion into account; if you suggest that the Monk is stupid and I should make a new Wizard/Assassin/Edgelord class to replace it, I'll probably ignore you.

Q. Where can I find all the Small Medals?
A. Check the list here! Keep in mind that only 26 can be obtained in the first four chapters, and the rest may require special keys or backtracking to find.

Known Bugs

Q. I encounter a cache/bitmap error when creating a party. What's going on?
A. RPG Maker VX Ace sometimes has issues with compression and it's possible that one or more graphic files have been corrupted somehow. This seems to specifically happen with the images that show a summary of different classes. This is an ongoing issue that I'm still examining. If you encounter this error, please send me a PM and I'll help you with a work-around.

Q. The Multi-Attack ability is weird. Is it working correctly?
A. MA can function strangely in a few situations. For example, if it is used and the battle ends on the same turn, the ability may trigger immediately when a new battle begins. I still do not have a solution for this, but considering the error is actually beneficial to the player, I'm not especially worried about fixing it, but it is on the list.

Walkthrough

Warning: there are minor story spoilers in this walkthrough.

Chapter One:
- Watch the introduction and name the first hero.
- Proceed south to Leighton, the town along the river.
- Meet with Lord Garon and then go to the barracks and choose a party. Be sure to stock up on healing items and explore town to find hidden goodies before departing.
- Head to the Tollson Mines, to the east. Recommended level: 2-3
- Alternatively, explore the world map, including the border crossing, to find extra items.
- Once you've arrived in Tollson, restock and heal up before going to the church and entering the catacombs. Recommended level 3-4
- Leave Tollson through the mines and return to Leighton. The southern teleport will now be accessible. Proceed through it and travel to Royan.
- In Royan, meet with the King. Optionally, explore the town and pick up new equipment and items.
- Proceed southeast from Royan to the Mamba Hideout. You may want to bring a Warp Wing.
- Speak to the guard at the Hideout to learn you need a member card to enter.
- Travel back to Royan, go to the dungeons, and speak with the prisoner in the last cell on the right. He will offer you a Mamba Member Card for 300 gold. Buy it.
- Return to the Mamba Hideout and show your card to be let in. Speak with the Mamba Marshal and proceed through the caves. Be prepared for a boss fight at the end. Recommended level: 6-8
- After the boss fight, go straight ahead to emerge onto the world map. Return to Royan and meet with the King again to receive your next orders. Take some time to buy healing items and new equipment, if you have the money.
- Travel to Devonshire, located northeast of Royan, and speak with the mayor in the house to the right of the town entrance. Then enter the church and go through the previously locked door in the back.
- Travel northeast, staying close to the large mountain range, to find the Cave of Fiends. Recommended level: 8-9 (Please note: the Cave of Fiends is the first really difficult dungeon in the game. Stock up and prepare well or try and take it on in multiple trips. A Warp Whistle is strongly recommended.)
- Proceed through the Cave and find a hidden chamber in the back. Investigate the chamber to learn what became of the sword.
- Return to Royan and meet with the King. Proceed through the previously inaccessible teleport to reach the island to the north. Continue north and enter the Grim Tower. The enemies you'll encounter from here on are rather difficult and you may consider making multiple attempts or even doing a small amount of grinding in order to prepare. Trying to do this section in a single go is a good way to get very frustrated. Recommended level: 10-12; you should be around level 12-13 at the conclusion of the chapter.
- Proceed through the Grim Tower and prepare for a boss fight. Fight the boss at the top. Once you've won, you'll be returned to Royan, where a scene will play out.

Chapter Two:
- Watch the introductory scene and name the second hero.
- Proceed to the barracks (left from the castle) and form a party
- Leave Winterthrone and head east around the lake and into the passage (you may consider resting at the Genji Border and recuperating)
- Travel through the frozen passage and into the village of Susinki Recommended level: 2-3
- Rest up and speak with the townspeople. You should meet with the Mayor, Lyla (who lives in the Relic Shop), the Mayor again, and then the guard outside the temple. Prepare for a boss fight. Recommended level: 3-4
- After the boss, heal if necessary in Susinki and receive your reward
- Trek across the world map to the ransacked village of Lapp. Recommended level: 5-6
- Meet with your former gang members in the pub, then go to the northern-most house
- Travel through the underground ruins and prepare for a boss fight at the end. Recommended level: 6-8
- After the boss, head out onto the world map
- Once you've crossed the third bridge, turn north to find the city of Faroh. You can rest up here and then meet with Lord Bjorn, who will fill you in on the location of the Princess.
- Leave town and continue east on the world map until you reach a teleportal
- Return to Faroh and speak with Lord Bjorn. Optionally, you may return to the teleportal afterwards on your way to your next destination
- Now, travel east past the portal for a long way until you reach an isolated house. Speak with the old man there to receive a key and then turn around and walk back towards Faroh until you return to the teleportal shrine. Use the key and pass through the portal. Recommended level: 8-10
- On the other side, walk north to Coldheart Spire. Recommended level: 10-11 (warning, CS is a long and difficult dungeon; return frequently to the shrine to heal and make use of the shortcuts within the tower to succeed)
- Fight the boss in the center and rescue the princess; you will then return to Winterthrone, where a scene will play out
- Wait for Chapter Three to be released
