Eight imperfect heroes.

One terrible threat from the past.

This time, it's personal.

In the land of Radia, eight heroes — each from a different province — join together to repel a horrific enemy: the Gyth. These demonic entities are ruthless and mysterious; so dangerous, in fact, that they were sealed away to a void between dimensions nearly two decades ago.

There is something different about this band of heroes: they are each imperfect in their own way. They are burnouts, thieves, unknowns — people would not typically hold the fate of the world in their hands. They must be brought together by the King as a last-ditch attempt to defeat the Gyth. Metaphorically speaking, the King's radiant chains — his uncanny ability to search all over his kingdom to find the next legends — are what will bring these flawed souls together to fight this threat.

Each of these would-be heroes will have a personal stake.

The first eight chapters will be made by different developers chain game-style, and we'll go from there. Deckiller will most likely wrap it all up once all of the chapters have been created. The regions from the first chapters will be revisited and expanded later in the game by other developers; each chapter will thus contain plenty of nooks and crannies to revisit later!

We're using Zelda as a major inspiration this time around: there will be lots of dungeons with puzzles, as well as special items that unlock new/secret areas and plenty of optional content! See that giant boulder blocking a path to a new area in the forest? Clear the first dungeon to gain access to it! Can't find a rope to climb that cliff? Perhaps you'll have to revisit that area later in the game...

We're using Yanfly scripts to help spice up battles. Indeed, we're going for a quality game here, one that emphasizes exploration, continuity, and fun! It's a little more serious than the last chain game, and we're being more strict about things, but hopefully the results will speak for themselves.

If you are a reasonably experienced developer who wants to take part in a serious (but fun) chain game, then look no further! Like we said, we're being strict on continuity and there's a battle system in place, but you'll have a ton (ton!) of room to be creative with your areas, story progressions, sidequests, etc. We want people to create payoffs for what previous chapters set up in terms of story/level design/items, and we want you to set things up for future chapters as well!

Restoring this for history's sake.

It's part of the history of the site, so we might as well keep it public. And who knows? Maybe someday a bunch of us can pick it up again. A few attempts have been made, but nothing really gained much traction. I really enjoyed the world we were setting up, so who knows what the future will bring?

As for me, most of my focus has been on Legion Saga DX and some other stuff, so I've barely even thought of old relics like this one. 'Tis a pity.

Either way, I hope you enjoy the first chapter if you do get around to playing it.

As far as I know, Parts 1-3 are finished, and Archeia is in charge of Part 4. But since she planned to do a major graphical overhaul, and given that MV has had a recent release, it's safe to say that she's got her hands full with other projects momentarily.

This game was turning into something awesome. We'll definitely have to give it another look.
I'll take some blame for taking so long on my chapter... but then Skype went out on me. So I couldn't catch up with the other developers.

Poor Archeia though, she's been very busy for the past couple years and the release of MV probably added a lot to her workload. I can't blame her for putting this of, and it would feel like a very jerk-ish move to hand Chapter 4 to someone else. I'll leave decision is up to her. Obviously, this won't be going anywhere so (hopefully) no harm done either way.

I see a lot of potential in it too. Even though it would be slightly disrespectful to Archeia (apologies ahead of time), maybe we could release the first three chapters, then update Chapter 4 later?

I'd rather wait. Archeia had some really cool stuff planned :) But at the same time it would be nice to show people what you and Benny made. We'll play it by ear.
Wait, are you serious about bringing this back into production?
That is awesome.

Since I'm a lot more experienced with RPG Maker, I could polish up my chapter if you want. I don't have as much free time since graduating high-school back in 2015 and now I'm trying to change jobs, but I could still fit this in. :)

I hid the download since I'm going to string together the first three chapters.

This looks interesting. What sorts of things are you looking for? (ie. what needs to be added to the game to be finished.)

Haha maybe I should add you as moral support to this and Legion Saga DX.

@kory, not sure quite yet. right now in my free time I'm just trying to polish up the first 3 chapters to get them released. after that I will probably pass lead to someone else.
