Ghost Suburb II: From Beyond Sleep Into The Eyes of Madness

I think I missed a game, but that's fine. Ghost Suburb I is really special.

"Overview of Damages:
Several weeks of insomnia, coalescing into blood filled afternoons where a single friend resides inside that which I doubt is truly there."

A game about a nurse in Midland Research Hospital Center, in the middle of a Hospital Zone- her name is Okay. She is a insomniac. There is a friend named Gertrud, who pesters her and is a giant floating sphere of darkness with a eye on it.
It is highly debatable whether she is in fact a real thing.
There is also a variety of activities which involve story based game play, and exploration. That is nice.
There is a lot of electronic music as well. I guess that is alright too.
I probably should battle test it more before bringing this out-
but like most things I make I will fix what I miss later at some later date,
fate can't stop you. But at least when it tries you can curb stomp it.

Please enjoy my game, and review my blog and profile for other games that you might have fun with!

Aw~ thank you! And also, thanks so much for pointing out the bug so I could fix it!
Hey. Been playing the game and it's pretty trippy so far. Unfortunately I'm stuck. I've just started day 3 and the lights turned out. Is there something I can do to get the lights on or am I supposed to just stumble my way through the dark? Personally I'm not a fan of the later option so I hope there's something I'm missing.

First of all, thanks for playing it! Unfortunately you will have to stumble around a little. It is not that long though and here are some directions-

Just exit the room as per normal and head straight down in the next room. Both exits are at the bottom of the screen. Hope that helps! : )
I did manage to find my way out when I got back to that part since I made sure to memorize the room's layout beforehand. I know it's a bit of work but if you wanted to idiot proof that part I'd suggest doing something to show the location of the character and the exit such as having an white outline of the Okay character and having only the door be visible. That way the player can track where their character is on the map and where the exit is while at the same time give the feeling like they're fumbling around in the dark.

Other than that I managed to finish the game without any problems and I must say that I enjoyed every second of it. I loved the art style of the spirits. In a way they reminded me of the simplistic style of Cave Story and that's always a plus in my book. My only grip is that you made it the colours too dark in the submenu and I was constantly squinting to see which item/option I was selecting before I selected one.

I especially liked the ambiguity of the Okay character's fate at the end. Did she end up as another test subject like Sleep or was she stuck in her sleep deprived state? I personally hope that you never reveal which. :)

I hope to see another game from you in the near future. The amount of creativity you brought to this was a thing of beauty.
This game strikes very close to home for me. Thank you for making a game so understanding of the struggles of people like us. Be safe.

Beautiful music, by the way.
Wonderful looking game, am excited to give it a play!
Aesthetically speaking, may I say your games are boss? Not just this one, but you've really outdone yourself on this one, I'm amazed. The dialogues are very entertaining as well. Seriously, I'm totally impressed. And eager to find more about Okay's backstory, because it hits pretty close to home to me as well...

I agree that the colors in the submenu are a bit too dark, just like the tint when, uh, you're in the dark, but all that might be just because my monitor is a bit too dark as well.

Bug report - I hadn't found any bugs, but now I feel like I'm stuck on the part where Norton hands you the paper and... well, I guess I could do something, had I some way to access that paper, but I don't. (Late edit, but checking the full LP I realized you can buy a PDA - I seriously hadn't checked - and there's actually one in a chest as well? - so, sorry, I guess that was nothing but stupidity really.)

There were also a couple of minor bugs, like Cook handing the Vodka before talking to Norton - with some dialogue like "I heard what he said" - and "mixing up poison" (when interacting with the shelf) after handing Norton the drink.

Moreover, fuck confusing directions.

No, kidding. Good job, really. ♥
I really love this game's aesthetics, music especially, but I can't seem to get out of the apartment building after meeting the moon. I just keep going in loops. Am I missing something here?

the exit to the key box is behind the sign after the moon room :D
Ahhh! I thought the sign was actually in the moon room, and was confused I couldn't find it.

You have my gratitude. Can't wait to get back to this kickin' adventure.
Great game. I won't say anything more. Just great.
im stuck after you find the colored books, where do i go? i keep going in loops...
This game is really fucked up (not in a bad way, just very creepy and weird),but i do see the deep meaning behind it,i loved the way you explained all the wrong things happening on the game, ive not finished it yet,but im gladly doing it right now. the artwork is really amazing,as most of your games, keep up the good work! <3

Hey I have to ask, the structure and wording of this title really reminds me of (some songs by) the band Coheed and Cambria. Am I seeing something thats not there?

It's a reference actually to one of their albums, since I was listening to it when I made it.
Love the game, but I just have one question. What's the name of the font used in the dialogue boxes? Thanks!
Played this game randomly on stream the other day. Didn't make it TOO far, but got a good video of my impression:
