Foreword

Hey there,
I want to talk a little bit about this new project of mine. I wrote a foreword about this project but it was proposed to remove it from the presentation itself and write it into the blog... and so I will do.

(Foreword)
This game will be released in english language exclusively. The reason is that the german maker communities are deceasing unfortunately. When you present a game there, you will barely get any feedback. So I turned my back on this communities and hope the english ones are better. I also hope that the english communities are more open for new ideas, graphics away from pure RTP and stuff like that.
The idea for a game, based on ancient egypt and mythology isn't that new. Because I'm very interested in that matter. But when I found the death metal band Nile in mid 2012 (when their album At the gate of Sethu was released), the idea took shape. First I wanted to make a game about a pharao, who is on his last great journey, something like travelling to the stars and become a god. I also made a few graphics back then, but because of school and a new hobby, chess, I soon didn't work that much with rpg maker and quit it completely. 8 months later I decided to work with rpg maker again and I bought the Vx Ace (my previous works were done with Xp). I created a short game which was released in june 2013. Also I released a demo version of the sequel to it but cancelled it because of the reason I already wrote about (deceasing german communities). In august this year I finally started the work on Re & Apophis. First I thought about making a game based to almost 100% of the myth of the two and how Re has to defeat Apophis every night on his journey to become the sun itself. But I think I would be kind of bored to make a game like that, because it would be way to determined. So I thought about something different and made an own story with many known figures of egypt mytholigy.
Since october I'm studying bioligy and so I haven't much time for the game. The work on Re & Apophis is kind of a compensation, just like chess. So I'm sure that this project will kind of accompany me during my study. The full version won't be released before 2015 I guess. Perhaps I can release some playable material in 2014, a small demo version.
(End of foreword)

I will update the presentation from time to time (change formulations et cetera). Also I'm going to let you know about the progress of the project. News will be posted in this blog. :)

Greetings, diaeitsch
