Celebrating Over 5000 Downloads

As of this day, October 8th, 2011, Dragon Fantasy has reached 5000 downloads! Amazing, isn't it? I didn't think it'd ever come this far, or that I'd be making a blog like this every few Months! It's just too bad some of my other games aren't near as popular as this. Ha ha.

So again, I offer to all those who've downloaded this game thanks, and appreciate whatever time--be it great or small--that you've put into playing any of my projects. Thank you!

In other news, I'm in the process of rebooting the Dragon Fantasy series. I finally know what direction I want to go and how I want to story to work, so I've decided that simply RESTARTING would be the best way to do things. How? Well, simply call the titles within the series so far "non-canon" once this new game is released onto the internet. And don't worry, it's still retaining its NES style with MIDIs and what-not. However this time around I'm foregoing the World Map and making exploration akin to Secret of Mana and the like. So I hope you all keep an eye out for when it makes an appearance in the future!

Celebrating Over 4000 Downloads!

Dragon Fantasy, even after all of this time and all of the games I have completed since this one, remains as my number one most downloaded title without even the slightest amount of competition! I don't know why, but there is something about this game that draws people in, regardless of the amount of "polish" it has or even what the graphics are like. It was my first completed RPG Maker title, and even now continues to hold the #1 spot as king of them all!

I just wish that more people would comment. =(

Sadness.

A big "THANK YOU" to all of the people out there who decided to add to this count, and to the half who hopefully completed the game (or came close to doing so)!

"Re-translation" in Progress!

So I was playing through this game recently, and I have to say... it's not as bad as I thought it was! That might be a horrible thing to say about this game that's garnered so many downloads (over 3000), but it's true! When I think back to this game, I don't remember anything really GOOD about it. Until I play it... and then discover that the graphics nor gameplay aren't really that bad at all, and it's actually quite addicting!

But then I get to the writing. Holy sweet mother of god. I may not be the best now, but I was SO MUCH WORSE back then that it is not even FUNNY!

Then I got this bright idea to do a "re-translation" or sorts. I know that's not what it should be called, but I'm going to call it that just because I can.

I'm going to go through the game, take every bit of dialogue, fix it up (a LOT), and then possibly release a better written version of the game. I'm also going to clear up a few of the plot points that I definitely did not do just way-back-when, and all sorts of good stuff like that.

Just thought I'd tell you. =P

1000 Downloads! To celebrate 3000+ downloads of the very first Dragon Fantasy!

I know that the download count may not say 3000, but if you look through the other Blogs belonging to Dragon Fantasy, then you will see that I originally had 2000+ downloads before FileFront decided to delete the god damn link. That really pissed me off, but at least I was able to get it up once again! And with that, we've got 3000+ downloads on our hands! Wooooot!

This game is still standing as my most downloaded game. I can not believe that it towers so high above the second game. I guess I'm wrong in saying the second one is better. o.O

New Download!

Oi! I've just submitted a new download for this game. The last one had one game-breaking error (in the first dungeon, no less!) and a smaller bug near the end. Both were put there by me for testing purposes, but I forgot to take them out. *Sigh*

Anyway, I apologize, and I hope you'll download again! Thank you. =)

How long has it been?

Ha ha. Nice little title there, '\eh? I decided to make this Blog entry after browising over the games main page and making an astonishing discovery: this game's been up (at least here on RMN) since 2007!

I know that it doesn't seem like -that- long ago, but considering the fact that I only had uploaded the game to RMN then, and had remade the bgame at least twice before that makes it even older! It was the very first RPG Maker game I completed. Sure, it wasn't the best out there (far from it), but it made me smile.

I found making the game to be very enjoyable, as I skipped over a majority of the real details and jumped right in to the game. Since there was no battle animations or AWESOME graphics, making the game was a simple feat (I'd gathered the knowledge to finally put something playable together from all of my previous attempts at making a game), and a fun one at that. It just helped prove to me that awesome, high-quality graphics or original systems don't neccessarily make the game any better.

Anyway, thank you Dragon Fantasy! And a thank you to all who played it, too! It's because of you that I went deeper in to RPG Making, and as a result came to complete the second game in the series.

A Thousand More! The Better of the Two!?

And once again I must celebrate another 1000 downloads of Dragon Fantasy! This is great, and I mean...astonishingly GREAT! When I was first working on the game, I never imagined obtaining so many...and they just keep growing each and every day! Ha ha ha!

But...there is one thing that pokes me, and that is...is this game better than the first? Sequals usually do not get as much attention as the original, but I was positive that Dragon Fantasy II was MUCH better than this one. But then...the amount of people downloading this one compared to that one is insane! Maybe they just want to start out at the first, but are put off by it so they don't go and download the second? I dunno, but the 2nd game is receiving not near as much attention as this one. Not that I'm all that displease with it or anything! I made 'em both, so I'm happy! Ku ya ya ya!

Anyway, thanks again people! I really appreciate it. I just hope that a few of you leave a few more comments here on the game page!

Out with the old, in with the new!

Oi. This is just going to be a quick little blog; an update, if you will.

I've gone and deleted the old videos that were up under the "Videos" section of the game page. They were old, and I had taken them down from YouTube a long time ago. So now I've gone and replaced them with NEW videos. However, these new videos are part of a playthrough I'm doing of the game. So...expect a lot more to come your way in the future!

A blog for an old game: New videos!

Huzzah! You didn't think I would forget about this old beauty, did you? (for those of you who may come across the blog section. I don't even know how many people actually check these things! You don't see many comments. >_>) Of course not! That is why I have just sent in about 5~ videos! One thign though...they're old. The game underwent a major over-haul after I put up those videos on to YouTube, and I just never got around (or never wanted to) re-do the videos again. You'll notice some of the earler changes in the videos (the menu, the way they talk, and the colors/font). Anyway, I have been meanig to put them up for a while now, so I just thought today would be a good day to do so!

Over 1000 Downloads!!!

Hurrah! This is a great time in life! (Ha ha, not really. It IS very good, though!)

It's probably not the biggest thing in the world, but I would like to announce that Dragon Fantasy has received over 1000 downloads! Man...that is FAR and away beyond anything I could have imagined. Now...I don't really know exactly how many of these downloaded files were actually PLAYED, but I'm just glad that there has been so many downloads!

A very big thanks to those who have downloaded an played the game, and an even greater thanks to those who have finished it! Thanks everyone.

Anyway, thank you people!
