"My name is Shimoda Shimoko, currently living in a small village protected by the God named The Ou. Villagers are here required to bring offerings to the God every day in exchange for the God's protection. It's heard that if anyone broke this rule or ate the offering, the village would be attacked by the evil spirits and devastated in the end. But no one has ever done that so no one knows if that is real. I guess that is just a very old rumour, old enough to be forgotten by the God himself maybe. Oops, did I mention that today it's my family's turn to provide offerings? I'd better go now..."
In this game, the player is going to play the role of the main character, Shimoda Shimoko, solve puzzles and get to know the entire story bit by bit. This game was created using Wolf RPG Editor which is one of the most popular game engines in Japan. Though this game was first released in Japanese in 2012, I hope that more people can enjoy the fun (or horror? ^w^) of my game. That's why we initiated this project and we hope it can serve its purpose. Have fun! :)
The game is available for downloading now :D No extra patch/software/etc. needed to start the game but make sure you have your MS Gothic and Arial Black fonts in your computer. If you have both fonts but the text just doesn't look right (text out of box, blank menu, etc.), you may want to try the following steps: Go to Control Panel >> Clock, Language, and Region >> Region and Language >> Administrative >> Change system locale >> Japanese The text should then appear correctly.

author=AislingCaitauthor=FertfreakI had the same problem, to fix it you have to go to the control panel-->language and change the option which say language of no unicode programs to japanese.
The in game menu screens are all blank. I checked my fonts and I have the two you required, but I still can't read the options and have to guess where the items are when I need to use one.
Hope I put all the names in right because my computer is in spanish.
I understood enough to know what problem to search for. Game's working great now. Thanks!

No need you are a master at horror and I can't wait to see even more. I won't give anything away, just that everyone should play this once.
Some of the graphics I'm seeing in the images here look amazingly like stuff I've seen in RPG Maker 2K/2K3 games. I'm not necessarily saying that this isn't made in a custom engine, or that you're doing something wrong, but it does strike me as odd.
Or, I'm just plaininsane worried over nothing. That's a possibility.

author=MarrendGraphics can be obtained from http://www.tekepon.net/fsm/modules/refmap/. It provides free game graphics for all game makers regardless of the engine that you're using. Though they're holding the copyrights, permission of usage is granted to all as written in the site :) If you're interested in the graphics used in my game, you may want to check out the user guide for all the resources :)

Out of sheer curiosity (or whatever you want to call it), I tried playing this game. Maybe I'm missing something really, really obvious, but, I can't seem to get very far at all. I doubt I'm spoiling anything, but, just in case, I put where I am in the hide-tag below.
I get as far as the blat that says, "Villagers here believe that the Ou lives in this house. Since the Ou is like a god who protects the village, the villagers take turns to bring their offerings here every day. Today, it is my family's turn."
Pressing "Enter"/"Z"/space bar when facing the door doesn't do anything. Doing the same on the offering box doesn't seem to do a heck of a lot either. I dunno, I'm probably missing something terribly, terribly obvious, seeing that people have successfully played beyond this point.
