Part of the RPG Maker Classics Archive: an initiative to upload classic RM games so they are not forgotten.

Developed by: Teo Mathlein
Date of Release: January 2005

Sunset Over Imdahl is a non-battle RPG that takes place in a city under siege. You play as Lohn, a young boy who is the sole survivor of the siege. Wandering the streets in desperation, Lohn meets a nobly-dressed man who offers him a chance to bring his hometown back to life. Without knowing his intentions, Lohn accepts on the man's offer, and the game begins.

Sunset Over Imdahl was made in rm2k and utilizes hand-drawn backdrops over tile-based mapping. The game is short, containing only a few hours of gameplay; however, is a completed project of the highest standard..

The poignancy of this game in 2021 is... eerie to say the least. Great game though. It always seem to be the games that are only a few hours long that tell the best stories.
If someone can say a game is bad then someone else can say someone's opinion is bad too, especially when the game in question has an overwhelmingly positive reaction from other players. Bad opinions do exist, after all, especially when it's from someone who is recommending other people not play the game in question when it's a far cry from unplayable and not worth playing.

But hey, let's let the reviews speak for the game, shall we?
It totally deserves a remake on RMVXA or RMMV using Quasi's Movement Engine *-----*
I can only find it in me to laugh at your assessment, shayoko. While, yes, the bat minigame was horrible, the rest of the game is quite good, bar the shoddy translation (really should have a remaster, I guess). Otherwise, it's one of the better games on the site. If you didn't understand it or find it engaging, fine, but that doesn't make it a bad game.

General 2-3 hours
Visuals, music, game play and plot concept were great.
but...the character interactions were annoying as hell at times, your character saying "what?" or similar when some extremely clear is said to him. which makes him out to be retarded.
there was also the minigame with the
bats
which was extremely frustrating...as entertainment is probably the most important thing in whether a game is "good" or not... i would say this was a bad game. the majority of the time i was bored and when i wasn't i was annoyed.

Overall
worth playing due to its short length whether you like the game or not its not a huge waste of time

notes/plotholes?
-the grave at the very end. was that the future or spring?

-how...do they travel thru time...this is lie a medieval age. even in are modern future we cant.fiction or not logic needs to be established in there world or the plot fails.who found out about it?

-in the original timeline the boy met the soldier at the end in winter. everyone was already dead here and the boy did not recognize him......so...what does he mean when he first met him he hugged him and gave him a virus to kill everyone?
this never happened!
he did say something about cloth...but if that had been the case...no....everyone was already dead in the kids timeline...which means the soldiers job was already done..so....what was the point???

Can anyone tell me where to find the Teo, the original creator of this game?

Someone can help me out that drink test?
Just mash your Z button like crazy. Use two fingers for extra speed.

Dude, seriously, it's not for sale - it's a hobby game. I'm sure SE could give a shit. Just like it doesn't give a shit about all the FF fangames floating around the internet either.
Chrono Trigger sprites, SquareEnix should see you in court.
No it's just chrono trigger sprites, as my favorite game I hate any reuses of the resources for that game. And I said I would play it, btw is the locker not working for anyone else?
If you can't divorce yourself from a character sprite then you might have a lot of trouble playing some of the better 2k/3 games on the site. Honestly, you're missing out on a great game even if it does use Chrono Trigger sprite edits.
I'm gonna play this, but I have to say when I saw the link I immediately recognized a sprite as a recolered Schala, and that p***** me off, similarly to chrimson echoes/flames of eternity and if the locker wasn't acting screwy i'd post a picture...
Excellent choice for featured game. Still beautiful to this day. ;D
I love this game. It was a giant inspiration for me years ago.
