Made in a week for the RM Venture Event, Razed are the Powerful (or RTP) is a short experience that hones in on the idea of collecting your favorite RTP characters to fight alongside you in a coliseum. Another strong focus is its small-scale plot that is used to its advantage in order to hit close to home.

Ulrika Terne hasn't been feeling well lately. While this is uncommon for her, her commitment to her job as a mighty gladiator prevents her from staying home. At least, not with a healthy conscience. Her husband, Brian Terne, is adamant she stay home - even her closest friends agree that it's for the best. Hiding herself beneath her arms in an empty room, she faces her pain alone.

There's something unnatural about this illness. Something that can raze even the most powerful of wills.

It is done!

I'm kind of afraid some of you will be let down, but nonetheless, I've finished. There are a few things that are kind of off in it. Specifically, Khar looks like Alex because I don't have a sprite. And I think there's been a crash or two I couldn't reproduce. Save often! If anyone can figure out what's happening I'd love you a long time~<3 Minno never really returned from those difficulties she was having... I hope she's okay!

If you find any glitches, don't be afraid to tell me! I'm sure there are some since testing = 1 speed run by me. Yeaaah, not the best testing in the world.

Oh boy, Eric still fades in and out of existence. I swear...

I'll figure out why soon enough!
Edit: Oh crap, found a glitch with some accessories too. Not game breaking but still annoying.

@accha You'll get used to it~ Glad to hear you're going to play!
I'm having so much fun checking everything out! The art and music are delicious.

The game froze after I talked to Enryu...
@Zouk Oh no! When exactly did you talk to Enryuu? Was there a group around him or was he alone? This may be a case of a random crash which I haven't been able to fix. I actually have an idea for fixing it - but it's not so bad so it's not high priority.
The crash message would be helpful as well if you know what it was.

I hope that didn't sour the experience for you!

@Tunger It really depends on how much you find from exploring, the order in which you do the battles, and plain skill. The first few battles can be a bit hard at times. I wish you good luck later on~

Hey Gourd, got a little bug report. After speaking to Enryuu my character walked to the left, Vera walked down and the game locked up. Not sure exactly what's going on, but this didn't look intentional- the dialogue from Enryuu looked sort of messed up too (having his name twice in the same paragraph, centered at the bottom and top).
Oops, you talked to him from a weird angle. Go ahead and talk to him from the front or the right. Or you can download it again now that it's updated if you're deadset on talking to him from that side~

Thanks for that, Pizza!

!!

Edit: I've never said this before, but I was actually really disappointed the graphics AREN'T RTP. Although those maps graphics are way nicer than they have any right to be. Gorgeous style.

I don't know, I'm glad to have been blessed with this style of graphics since it isn't attempted much in RPG Maker games. Not that RTP wouldn't have been great, either, but I love the graphics style so much I want to kiss it full on the lips. Ew.
@Max Great minds think alike I guess!

@CC Feel blessed~ Minno is very good with the graphic things!

About how long is the (complete?) game?
An hour to an hour and 30 minutes if you talk to everyone and explore a lot. You could probably power through it in 45 minutes but I don't know if you'll still be able to appreciate the game.

If you don't mind me asking: Is there any particular reason you haven't marked this game as "Completed" yet?
@Never I have no idea what you're talking about~

Well, Gourdy, I understand that you must be pretty busy with other stuff at the moment. Still, I wanted to let you know I finally played a part of this game and came across a few errors and bugs. One of them actually is game-breaking, so I thought I should let you know as soon as possible.

These are my notes:
- Is it normal that I can fight 1 vs 1 battles with two people on my team? Actually, why can I fight battles with a set amount of enemies with as many team members as I want? Because it sure feels unfair...
- After my second fight (it was against Ernest), there is this person in the locker room I can't interact with. (See this screenshot)
- When I tried to enter the locker room on the second day at the coliseum before I had fought any fights, I was instead transferred to an unfinished map, rain started falling and after about a second the game just sent me back to the title screen. (See this screenshot)
- I can only interact with these two people from this one specific angle. (See this screenshot)
Generally, the way talking to people from certain directions is handled is sometimes a bit odd.
- Also, there are quite a number of typos present. I could point them all out for you, but I wasn't sure if you would have the time to correct them. But if you want, just say the word.

Other than that, I can only repeat what Ilan said: Very funny and clever writing, even though I don't get every reference. The battle system has some neat ideas, although I think you could have done more with it. It took me a bit to get used to the art style, but it's definitely remarkable.
@NeverSilent By all means! If there are typos present, I'd like to know!

The angle thing happens as a result of both the sidequest and having only one or two directions for characters.

Oh geez, I hope the game breaking bug isn't caused by what I think it is... We'll see I guess!

Thanks, man~<3 I'm glad you liked it.

So, first of all I apologize for being slower than a dead snail with my testing of this game. But I finally took some time for it again. I decided to be extra thorough and start over from the beginning to check everything for potential bugs and typos. I haven't gotten very far yet (just my first two fights), but I already managed to find a good amount of things you might want to know about. I also added some random comments about my thoughts while playing.
I know I'm nitpicking sometimes, but only because I want to try and be helpful.

Here goes:
- It's bit impractical to be unable to see from the menu what type of fighter a character is.
- The music is really awesome and atmospheric.
- What's wrong with Ulrika? She's seriously crazy. In an entertaining way. :)
- The interactive objects and item descriptions are amazing!
- Question: Is the name of the "Satin Stan" correct or is it actually supposed to be "Satin Satan"?
- You can't cancel the choice processings when talking to Mia, which means if you talk to her you'll always have to choose some option to get away from her again. Not really a problem, but a bit annoying.
- I don't think this is supposed to happen. (It was right after I beat Gomez) The conversation continues like in the coliseum and I have to battle Gomez again in the hallway. (See this screenshot)
- The Game Over screen looks odd (maybe because of the resizing of the game's screen size?). (See this screenshot)
- During a fight against Ernest (after a normal attack with quadrupled ATK) a textbox appeared that informed me I "defeated Ernest with an Overkill of 42%". However, at that point my enemy was not even defeated and still had 1 HP left. So the fight went on. I did get the Overkill bonus at the end of the fight. I suspect Ernest's skill which allows him to survive an otherwise lethal attack messes with the Overkill mechanic?
- The game crashed on me during a fight against Lena. (I had warped her and the battle report said she was walking back and forth or something like that shortly before). (See this screenshot)
- Those dialogue choices before a battle starts are really cool. Do they actually influence the story's progression or are they just fluff? I like them either way.
- Man, beating Gomez 1 vs 1 is hard.

Nr. 1: "normally but this?!" -> "normally, but this?!"
Nr. 2: "certifcates" -> "certificates"
Nr. 3: "up there, which" -> "up there which" and "I'm sorry eyes." -> "I'm sorry, eyes."
Nr. 4: "There a" -> "There are a"
Nr. 5: "Take" -> "Takes" (same for next textbox about the "Unwarped" state)
Nr. 6: "being registered fighter" -> "being a registered fighter"
Nr. 7: "go it alone" -> "go at it alone"
Nr. 8: "Burn you name it." -> "Burn, you name it."
Nr. 9: "anymore" -> "any more"
Nr. 10: "your self" -> "yourself"
Nr. 11: "trying to saving" -> "trying to save"
Nr. 12: "under went" -> "underwent"

More should follow soon.
Trying it out!
I'll be back with some stars, if that's fine with you :D
@NeverSilent I'm cool with nipicking. And you're not obligated to help me at all, so I appreciate that you have!

-That was meant to be in already! Oopsies!
-<3 Minno wanted some sweet tunes, it's good to see I delivered!
-She's silly and I love her~<3
-Ooh yay! I had a lot of fun writing them!
-It was going to be a Satin Satan but I accidentally named it Satin Stan and the name stuck. It's a bit more subtle than Satin Satan I think so it has that deceptive twist. Also calling a doll satan is odd.
-Ooh, I will fix!
-I don't know why that happens exactly, but it is extremely easy to reproduce sooo I may want to figure that out. Thanks for the heads up!
-I never really bothered witht he game over screen because I'd want a custom one if I did. Minno hasn't been around to make one though!
-Comflicting scripts! There's not much I can do really other than scrap one or the other which I'd prefer not to do. It's not hurting much so it'll probably stay in the game forever.
-Not sure why to be honest! It shouldn't matter with the changes I'm making in order to balance the game some more.
-They are the fluffiest fluff! Minno and I wanted them because we thought they'd be cool. Glad to see we're not alone in our thinking!
-As he should be! I think I accidentally made him easier with the balancing I've been doing. I'm the developer and know exactly what to do though so it's kind of up in the air...

I'm glad to see you're generally liking it!

@Karins Oh, feel more than welcome! Come back with 4 or 5 if you'd like~<3 Or whatever you see fit - I'm not picky.

I got myself Razed some more. This game is getting more and more interesting as it goes on! I haven't finished it yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting closer.

Have some notes:
- If I talk to Eric from behind, it sometimes makes him disappear. (See this screenshot)
- Although Ulrika's Danger Riser skill displays it has no MP cost, it does actually consume two MP when used (one for every time it makes Ulrika "Charge").
- I got an error at the very end of a 1 vs 1 fight against Gomez. He only had one HP left and was burned, while I chose to use a normal attack on him. (See this screenshot)
- And here we have Felix disappearing as well when talking to him from behind. (See this screenshot)
- I love the inside jokes, especially those in the various books. Oh, and could it be Isabelle's character is slightly modeled after Liberty? ;)
- The "The beard is a lie" dialogue for the shelf in the recreation room repeats itself during the third night, even if you've already seen it during the second night. It also gives the player items again.
- What is that?! You know what I'm talking about, Gourdy. And that battle music is seriously weird and creepy.
Ok, I get it now I read those papers. Does it matter whether you decide to confront it earlier or later? I couldn't beat it on my first two attempts, so I made a separate save file and moved on to the coliseum without beating it.
Also, another question that may be just me taking things too literally: How can my whole team be in Ulrika's house for that fight? That's a bit too conspicuous even for Brian, if you ask me...
- On the third day at the coliseum, the "tainted"-conversation between Eric and Brenda returns despite it already having taken place before. That's a bit odd.
- Klaus knows the disappearing trick, too! (See this screenshot)
- During a fight against Oscar, Brenda and Eric, when Oscar used Regal Pain, this crash happened. (See this screenshot)
- Ulrika's Danger Riser is annoyingly incompatible with the Last Word Hat. If the skill is used as her first action, it consumes her second action as well, cancelling the player's actual choice. It is possible however to use Danger Riser as a second action and something else first, which works fine.

-Typos:

Nr. 2: "weird one that dog." -> "weird one, that dog."
Nr. 3: "told you may have" -> "told you I may have"
Nr. 4: "better I just" -> "better. I just"
Nr. 5: "There feels like" -> "It feels like"
Nr. 6: "Nope this window" -> "Nope, this window"
Nr. 7: "her organized" -> "he organized"
Nr. 8: "Some one" -> "Someone"
Nr. 9: "afew" -> "a few"
Nr. 10: "kindess" -> "kindness"
Nr. 11: "Ullie I can" -> "Ullie, I can
Nr. 12: "locks you beefy" -> "locks, you beefy" (epic insult, by the way)
