Made in a week for the RM Venture Event, Razed are the Powerful (or RTP) is a short experience that hones in on the idea of collecting your favorite RTP characters to fight alongside you in a coliseum. Another strong focus is its small-scale plot that is used to its advantage in order to hit close to home.

Ulrika Terne hasn't been feeling well lately. While this is uncommon for her, her commitment to her job as a mighty gladiator prevents her from staying home. At least, not with a healthy conscience. Her husband, Brian Terne, is adamant she stay home - even her closest friends agree that it's for the best. Hiding herself beneath her arms in an empty room, she faces her pain alone.

There's something unnatural about this illness. Something that can raze even the most powerful of wills.

It is done!

I'm kind of afraid some of you will be let down, but nonetheless, I've finished. There are a few things that are kind of off in it. Specifically, Khar looks like Alex because I don't have a sprite. And I think there's been a crash or two I couldn't reproduce. Save often! If anyone can figure out what's happening I'd love you a long time~<3 Minno never really returned from those difficulties she was having... I hope she's okay!

If you find any glitches, don't be afraid to tell me! I'm sure there are some since testing = 1 speed run by me. Yeaaah, not the best testing in the world.

I don't know, I'm glad to have been blessed with this style of graphics since it isn't attempted much in RPG Maker games. Not that RTP wouldn't have been great, either, but I love the graphics style so much I want to kiss it full on the lips. Ew.

!

!!

Edit: I've never said this before, but I was actually really disappointed the graphics AREN'T RTP. Although those maps graphics are way nicer than they have any right to be. Gorgeous style.
Oops, you talked to him from a weird angle. Go ahead and talk to him from the front or the right. Or you can download it again now that it's updated if you're deadset on talking to him from that side~

Thanks for that, Pizza!

Hey Gourd, got a little bug report. After speaking to Enryuu my character walked to the left, Vera walked down and the game locked up. Not sure exactly what's going on, but this didn't look intentional- the dialogue from Enryuu looked sort of messed up too (having his name twice in the same paragraph, centered at the bottom and top).
@Zouk Oh no! When exactly did you talk to Enryuu? Was there a group around him or was he alone? This may be a case of a random crash which I haven't been able to fix. I actually have an idea for fixing it - but it's not so bad so it's not high priority.
The crash message would be helpful as well if you know what it was.

I hope that didn't sour the experience for you!

@Tunger It really depends on how much you find from exploring, the order in which you do the battles, and plain skill. The first few battles can be a bit hard at times. I wish you good luck later on~
I'm having so much fun checking everything out! The art and music are delicious.

The game froze after I talked to Enryu...
Oh boy, Eric still fades in and out of existence. I swear...

I'll figure out why soon enough!
Edit: Oh crap, found a glitch with some accessories too. Not game breaking but still annoying.

@accha You'll get used to it~ Glad to hear you're going to play!
Oh hey, now this looks like the type of game I'd like!

I... I don't think I can recognize any of the RTP characters if they're not in RTP, man. Non-RTP art is gorgeous though and very ironic.

Added to the playlist, hopefully I can get back to you soon with feedback =D
Hey, thanks for your input! I'm glad to hear you liked it~<3 I might balance the battles a little better in the future.

If anybody has any idea how I could hide the Summons option in the menu and the AP thing a majig in the equipment menu I'd appreciate it if you'd help me!
Well, I finally finished the game! It was a good funny game, but I think it stood up more because of it's story and humor than fot it's battles. Because it was mostly easy since I never needed to switch my party or buy any items. Also, there was an option in the menu called "Summons" that giving his usual function I thought that it was going to be important in combat, but it turned out that it was there for nothing. But don't get me wrong! I still enjoyed the game, the story, characters and the ending were good and I really liked the jokes, so those aspects made up for everything else. Well, I forgot the graphics and the music, I liked the graphic style, and I LOVED the music, especially the battle themes!

So, to sum it up, I enjoyed the game, and I hope that your next project turns out just as good, or even better thab this one! :D

P.S. : And yes, it was in the locker room.
Oh, thanks a ton, Ilan! Most of those are either things I forgot to take out while testing or things I forgot to put back in while testing. You reminded me of a few things you didn't find that I know are there too so thanks~ You're about 2/3 of the way through. Oh, and the sign is a compulsive liar at the moment. Some of what it says is true or close to true but you probably shouldn't bet on it. And you're not supposed to learn skills from accessories permanently, I just don't know how to make the AP/AP thing go away.

The difficulty is intentionally easy because I don't want people to get stuck on not knowing how battles work and, well, difficulty. There are only about two-three battles in the game that will actually give you a run for your money.

@MakioKuta Don't worry, understanding the battle system isn't too terribly important but it can make the game more fun. I hope you have fun with the rest of the game! That said, I plan on fixing up the tutorial some.

Hm... I don't see Eric flicker at all during that conversation. In the locker room, right?
Hi Gourd, my friend! How are you? :D

I wanted to say that I played your game and I enjoyed it so far. Especially the story and dialogue, the jokes and references in the game were fun to read! As for the combat, I played so far 6 battles(including the tutorial one) and despite I didn't quite got what some of the states did, with minimum knowledge of the rules and the advice of Mia, for now the battles weren't exactly hard to beat. Also, I noticed some things while playing the game:

- The first time I looked at the board at the left of the Counter Guy, the choice "Competitor Info" doesn't do anything.
- When talking to Mia, the choice "Chat" also doesn't do anything.
- Ok, this is a big one. When doing Eric's sidequest, once you get the first Sign and then you give it to Eric, the item is not removed from your inventory. That way, you can give the same page to Eric until you finished the sidequest and recieved your final reward. I think you may want to look on that...
- During a conversation with Eric and Brenda, Eric's sprite seemed to disappear during a few lines of dialogue.
- The item Luts' Diary allowed a character learn permanently the skill "Guts" through AP, but for some reason it requires 900 AP, and the counter as far as I remember didn't seemed to increase, so... What's up with that?
- While advancing the plot, some NPC's keep appearing in the same places, and keep saying the same lines of dialogue, it may be like that on propose, but I really doubt it...
- When you have to sneak out of your house, in the Rec Room there's an invisible path in the right wall. At first I thought it was a secret passage, but then I discarded that idea when I found a dead end.
- And last, when I endeda conversation with Eric and Ralph and talked to Ralph again, he was supposed to give me something... except that he gave me nothing, and the line of dialogue that said "You got..." didn't said what was the item that he was supposed to gave me.

But still, those things didn't stopped me from enjoyimg it this far. So I'm going to keep playing it later, and I'm going to tell you if I find more things like this. Now I'm going to sleep because this was too long and I'm tired right now... Good Night! ;)

P.S. : Oh! And don't forget to post your action in The Highlander's Tomb! Since you're the only one left to post before the next turn...
I played this only for a little bit so far, but the writing is really charming and the art is gorgeous. I love the gradient usage on the maps~ I spent a lot of time running around going "Ooooo Pretty!!"

I'll probably come back to this another day. The battle system was a little hard for me to follow, but the writing was making up for that for me.
