Hello!
Ok, this time let's say something about myself: I love cats and I have three, or maybe they have me, since only one is really mine, the other two just "happened"!
Very well, that's enough, anyway this game is about cats. And no, we do not play as one of them (good, I like cats but not because I want to be one!), in this adventure game we are a cat owner that is looking for an escaped cat.

This Cat Game is a Rpgmaker2003 game (by amitie and halcy) that, unlike most other RPG Tsukuru 2003 games is not a rpg, but a puzzle adventure. Or a classic adventure game, you know, one of these where you explore locations, talk to people, get item from people, use item to unlock next room and go on until the end.
Simple? Well, yes pretty much!


Is this kitty worth all this? But of course!

Anyway our alter ego is this black haired girl named Mika (even has a shirt with a big "M" on it)... and that's all! Well, until suddenly her mother arrives panicking because Toby, the beloved cat, has disappeared from home! Where did he go? Well Mika is ready for an adventure, a big adventure... bigger that expected!
In fact after a first part that consists in a series of fetch quests and other simple tasks Mika will wind the cat inside a forest? Is this the end of the game?
Yes it is, let's go home!

No, of course it is not!!! In this forest there is a portal that will lead Mika to a new mysterious dimension so expect further adventures in another, stranger world!
What a twist! Of course I'm not going to tell you what lies beyond the portal, play and see. And find that cat in the meantime, of course!

Now the visuals: the graphics are... <drum roll> ... custom! And even if they look to be black and white, they are not! Some elements are coloured, for example Mika wears a green shirt and in the game you will find several cats, some ar white, some grey, some brown (and many also dressed with different clothes!), also many other items are coloured. The game has a stylized but pleasant look, I liked that, it's a distinctive trait that makes it stand out and still it's really appropriate to this genre of surreal adventure. I rate this aspect of the game positively!

And now the soundtrack: the musics are... <drum roll> ... custom! Yes, these too! And they are pretty good, ok they loops but some are catchy and in the end I liked most of them. Another good point for this little fun game, I guess!
Oh and strangely there is not the same attention to the sounds, that are nothing new or original besides the usual RTPs, and that's a bit weird, considering the theme of the game I was sure to hear a lot of different meowing sounds. Aaaaand... no I was wrong!

Final Verdict
I admit that when I started this game I expected much less: a short but fun game packed with some (cat) jokes, instead I got a full adventure that includes a trip in a fantasy land, with a simple but enjoyable gameplay, good custom graphics and good custom music!
If I calculated time correctly, this game took me 1 hour and 30/40 minutes to complete, and that's not bad for a little cute adventure! I've never seen this game before but now I am glad I did! Perfect game for cat lovers!
