Progress Report

A Progress-Type Report

I'm still hard at work on Wyrm Warriors, and making progress every day. Here's the starting party: Lorence, Rosie and Andri.

I noticed that, by pure coincidence, all three of the starting characters' hair is a shade of red. Huh. Anyway, there are four additional characters in the starting area to recruit!

Instead of aiming for an hour of game-time, I think I'll release a demo as soon as the first area is done, since you all have waited long enough (Not to mention, then map-contributors will be able to see what the other maps in the game look like). I've just got to finish the two dungeons in the area and add a few more NPCs (and then thoroughly test everything, of course).

Speaking of contributors, should I list everyone who made a character as a "user" for this game? I'm not sure if that's going overboard or not ^_^;;

Announcement

Welcome to the World of Wyrm Warriors

Hello everyone! Now that the gamepage for Wyrm Warriors is live, the next step is to take this game to the demo version! As soon as I've got roughly an hour of gameplay finished, I'll release the first demo!

While character-specific dialog isn't the focus of the game, there will of course still be character dialog. With 30 different characters by various different RMN users, it seems a bit unwieldy PM each of you to get exact quotes of what the characters will say in certain situations. My current idea for handling this is to do my best to write each characters' dialog, and allow the character creators to send me corrections after they've played the game if dialog needs to be fixed. How does that sound? If that's too clunky of a system, I'm certainly open to other methods!

The big challenge before me right now is to get the battle-system perfected, specifically the level-cap that gets raised each dungeon and the medal system that rewards players for smart item management working. After that, the rest of the demo is just getting the locations and characters working.

Here's to a successful project! A big thank you to the RMN community for keeping this project going!
