You have the power to split the world into half. You can destroy buildings, overturn mountains…
But you are still powerless against a human.
Even a human who wants to kill you.
Hey, isn’t that ironic? Isn’t that funny?
… Why aren’t you laughing, Mika-chan?

Lenine lives in a huge palace as the most trusted servant of Princess Micaiah, the only place of beauty remaining in a desolate, destroyed land. Everything is perfect - the food is good, the job is good, life is good. As long as nobody leaves this palace of salvation, there is no need to dwell on the horrors that lie beyond these walls.

Until one day, a mysterious stranger arrives... to teach these content souls the true price of perfection.

Mica: Apoptosis is a story-based game with horror elements about a web of delusions, a life of blissful ignorance, and the monstrous depravity that human beings can fall to in the name of love and admiration. The gruesome, revolting truth hidden behind the guise of a pretty, charming little lifestyle. Explore the game through three very different main characters with three very different perspectives, and tell your story as you believe it to be.

So powerful, yet so fragile… your life is like a candle, ready to be snuffed between my fingers.
I can slowly strangle you to death, and you can’t even flail to defend yourself.
You’re so funny, Mika-chan.

Mica: Apoptosis focuses on the experiences of three very stricken people, who are closer than they think, yet vastly different. And when things start changing, they begin their journeys on parallel lines, separated from one another.

Princess Micaiah, who owns a grand castle in the woods, hidden from society;

Lenine, her loyal servant, who is separated from her at the most crucial time and sees the world in a frighteningly different way;

and Himeya Mika, a young girl who chances upon the castle one day, and finds it empty and desolate...

This is their story.

1289
i Wi;l grab this soon. Hope you fix the profile glitch at some point.
. What do you think of the game so far?
I think the game is wonderful and has amazing art along with an enticing story!
2. Who are generally your favourite characters, and why?
Lenine; He's such a blunt person and seems to be the straight-man of the castle. And then there's the princess who's darker than she's letting on.
3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?
The Protagonist's past. Survivors of the castle? Who is this cloaked boy?
4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?
The princess is slightly(?) crazy, No survivors but alot of corpses, "Evil Messiah"?

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1) The princess is the most interesting since at the end of the demo :
She is seen in a church filled with dead bodies or these could be the corpses of "them"

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
It is pretty smooth but still needs work on the Horror factor but due to the fact that this is a demo and it was the beginning of the plot I say it is perfectly acceptable.
7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Chapter 2 Lenine
9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?
Lenine/Princess Micaiah
10. Was it scary?
No, I would suggest (black?) blood when Micaiah kills "them" and in ch3 (since it looks like a lone castle) have whispers in the background

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
Lenine putting up with the fruit bowl incident.

1. What do you think of the game so far?
Just brilliant. I like how deeply interwoven all the plots are, and the characters are really well fleshed out and have a lot of potential.

2. Who are generally your favourite characters, and why?
Definitely the three protagonists, Lenine, Micaiah and Mika. Euphony also deserves a special mention.

3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?
What is the purpose of the Church and how do they link to those Things? Who is Anyu and why does he call himself the Messiah?

4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?
I honestly don't know. That's what makes it interesting to find out.

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1)
Anyu, Euphony and Lenine.

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
It's extremely fascinating and I really want to know how the plots converge eventually.

7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?
The balcony scene (shudders). Also the part where Anyu meets Micaiah, alone... I'm starting to ship them because of that, even though it's creepy (shot)

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Micaiah's chapter is great.

9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?
Anyu/Micaiah (shot repeatedly), Lenine/Euphony or Lenine/Fleur... Is it funny that I don't really ship Lenine/Micaiah? It's funny that Lenine can be shipped with everyone, even Rainer.

10. Was it scary?
Yes, I freaked out during the you-know-what scene...

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
The fire puzzle is really awesome!

12. Take a random screenshot!
Not yet since I'm not on my computer XD
I aready played the demo. mika's chapter so great!,it scary and excting for me when she escaped.(i died three times) this game so fun!! I will support and waiting for the full version.
mika and micaich are my favourite characters. Do you have plan to make them meet face to face? I wan a little yuri moments plaese XD.
Excuse me ,may I show this game to my Chinese friend?(on line) I just want to show them I won't give them this game:)
Thanks guys for all the comments! I really appreciate it. :)

@pichaput: I won't answer that question just yet! :P Stay tuned for the full version ouo

@Lindsay: Of course! :)
So I had to come back and comment on this.
I downloaded the demo and I absolutely loved it. At first I was a little confused/frustrated but that's because I'm not too clever.
I was so afraid of when the demo would end, but as soon as I got to the Castle, it was amazing. You really feel like you're a survivor and safe, but remember you're in a horror game when the moment strikes. The little detail like the Princess' sprite's hair moving when she walks was awesome, and she's extremely pretty.
As for ships, I definitely ship Lenine and Princess Micaiah. I really can't wait for the full version.
1. What do you think of the game so far?
I like the little laughs and stuff when you talk to some of the characters in the beginning of the game. Pretty cute.
But the game, so far, OMG I WANT MORE. It's really good!

2. Who are generally your favourite characters, and why?
I usually like the comic relief kind of characters.. and the cute ones who always get lost and it's like.. awww.. I'll help you! Or or or the characters who act like they're on your side.. then BAM. they backstab you. well.. not so much those kind of characters.. I like psycho characters too.. heheh..

3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?
-Who's the hooded boy? (Anyu, duh)
-What are these.. "Things?"
-And why are these "things" murderous beings?
-Why do they kill people who have powers like the Goddesses?
-Is Lenine Mika's dad?
-Is Euphy Mika's mom?
-Why is Euphy's name Meiko in the prologue, but Euphy in chapter 1?
-Why did they capture Mika?
-What happened to Mika?
-What happened to the boy in the prologue?
-Why doesn't Lenine like mirrors?
-What do the "things" want with the princess?
-Is the princess hiding something dark?

4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?
Oh man.. I can't even begin to answer them..
I think that Euphy is Mika's mom.. but I don't know why she has two different names.. I think Anyu might be the little boy from the Prologue.. evil evil.. tsk tsk..
AND THE PRINCESS IS INDEED HIDING SOMETHING.

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1)
Rainer is pretty funny.. You go to look in his diary and it's like.. "LENINE I KNOW YOU ARE PEEKING SO GET OUT OF MY ROOM!! >:("

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
The story is pretty interesting! I want more of the story -- So many unanswered questions! (I'm also hoping Mika runs into the Princess in castle and such.. I want to see what is going to happen!)

7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?
I liked the flashbacks in Chapter 1! And the spooky things in Chapter 2 when you have to make your way back to the Princess's room.. All the signs and such were messed up! Kinda funny.. But some were scary too.. All the npcs followed me....

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Oiiiiiiiiiiiii... this is a hard one.. I liked all the chapters.. :c.. Probably.. Lenine's chapter.. Cause Rainer is a funny guy. But I also like the princess..

9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?
LENINE AND RAINER.

10. Was it scary?
Omggg. yes. Even from the beginning.
I left my room in the beginning, leaving the door open and stuff.... then I jumped in the hole.. and it like.. FLASHED IN MY FACE -- something about closing the door. and i was like.. omg! this game is going to be scary. so i closed the door cause I didn't wanna die.
also in the veeeery beginning when Mika's mom was talking to her.. and then it flashed to Mika's cell. omygoodness. I was like UHOH. THIS ISN'T REALITYYYY.
THEN THERE WAS THE LADY AT THE BALCONY. OMG.

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
NOT HIDING. I KEPT DYING.
I didn't know what to do.. so I had to check the walkthrough.. //shot.
I BARELY MADE IT IN TIME! :C

Nah. Hiding was fun. Running was fun too -- Even if in the prologe I almost cried because the Alchemist almost got me. ; n ;

12. Take a random screenshot!
I took two!
Thanks guys for the insightful comments! :D I won't confirm or deny any theories, heh.
1. What do you think of the game so far?
Pretty interesting. But...I will still look up to it if the final and full game is already released.

2. Who are generally your favourite characters, and why?
Hmmm, maybe Lenin...why you say? Because he has a mysterious past(?)

3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?
I got a good sense of doing a theory so maybe this isn't applicable for me and I'm confident to tell you that I have a high chance of 80% out of 100% that what I thought is correct! ;)

4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1)

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
Need the full game ;) what left me there is hanging, BUT...I guess that I'm guessing right. And I won't tell you until the full game is out ;) LOL.

7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?

Maybe the chasing part in Lenin's Chapter ;) LOL that really challenge me. Thank you!

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Lenin and Lenin :D HAHA

9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?
Not yet ;)

10. Was it scary?
Not really ;) maybe you should add some little scare from the atmosphere or the BGM ;)

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
Lenine's Chap. The run, hide and seek! :D

12. Take a random screenshot!
I wait with baited breath for the finished game <3 Loved the demo

1. What do you think of the game so far?

I loved it. Very different from Ib, Mad Father, and The Witches House, but it carries on a similar theme. I also love the lack of jumpscares although one or two would be nice. I loved the storyline, Even though we only get a glimpse of it from the demo. I also loved the ambiance of the entire thing, although on some parts, such as The Princess's, Towards the end the music should probably be a little more darker, or frantic, maybe like a twisted music box?

2. Who are generally your favorite characters, and why?

Typically the ones who are dark and secretive, or have a hidden intent for good reasons. I also tend to like the strong willed and brave kind.

3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?

1. What happened in their pasts? What did the Princess do? What happened to Mikas parents and how did she end up being tortured and imprisoned? What caused Emphy to die? Where were her parents? What happened to Lenne... What is the 'Goddess', how is her heir chosen? Also, shouldn't the "Can't kill Humans' rule not apply if said human is trying to kill you? So many questions.

4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?

Er. I have a feeling the princess ended up having to actually kill people to protect herself or someone. Uhm, its alluded that Mika's dad committed suicide to be with her Mother, but I'm going to assume that her mother was taken and eventually killed by the same people who captured Mika, or she died from an illness, or from breaking the rule.

I'll also assume that Emphy got killed by the 'things'. And other then that I don't know.

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1)

I can't choose actually. This game and the characters all interest me. It's a hard one, but I think I liked all three of them equally, but if I had to choose, I think Its a Tie between the Princess, due to her personality, and Mika, due to her bravery.

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
It's very, very interesting and unlike most games I've seen approached this way and It really hooks you and pulls you in. While on the surface all appears well, there are underlying plots and dark, morbid tones that people tend to miss or overlook and are lured into a false sense of "oh hey this wont be so bad" Before the true nature comes out. And I love it, because while it twists and turns from one to the other, its done perfectly in sync. Not too much gore, or the typical Horror approach, but very psychological Horror.

7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?
Uhm, I didn't have a particular favorite scene, but If I must choose, probably the very beginning where Mika and her mother are talking and then after that, probably in the Princess's chapter where she reads Lennes journal and their little talk after that. It was cute.

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Either chapter 1, or chapter 3, and The Princess or Mika. I like them both.

9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?

If there must be a ship, probably Princess / Lennie, or Lennie / Euphy and Mika / Dai. I can't really say for sure lol.

10. Was it scary?
In the sense of "Did this scare you", No, not really as I don't get easily scared. Maybe if the music was different in some parts, to give ambiance. But, at the same time this game is very terrifying. Not because of the gameplay but because it does make a lot of sense if you look at some themes in the game vs the real world. The overzelot religious nutjobs for example, and also because, human beings can wear a friendly face but stab you in the back within seconds. It's also a bit of an eye-opener with the whole 'Ignorance is Bliss' theme, because we tend to see what we want to see rather then the bad things that happen.

I don't know if that was the intent, but thats probably the best explanation I can think of in answer to the question.

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
Hmm, probably the Pricess's chapter so far, considering how quickly it goes from light and happy to dark and morbid.

12. Take a random screenshot!

Sadly my printscreen button stopped working or I would. Instead I'll leave a parting comment.

While, this game isn't scary in the whole "Jumpscare/Gruesome/really freaks you out" area yet, the finished product may meet that criteria. However, I think this game has a more Psychological Horror theme to it then the typical straight out scary horror so many games try to give off, (Some failing to do so, some succeeding), but to me, it does fit in perfectly with the Ib/Mad Father / The Witches House theme. Honestly, I'd even say something like this could be a squeal to the witches house, but others may not agree. In the end, I love it, and I'm looking forward to the full game and I'd love to feature a let's play of it. I also love the direction it's taken in the theme of Horror, but consider adding darker or more 'ambient' music in some places, something that gives you chills or apprehension, that makes you think something really bad is about to pop out or happen, maybe even have the music pop out in totally random places where nothing bad will happen to give a false sense of alarm? Either way, I defiantly am looking forward to the full game.
I am looking forward to playing the full game, I certainly enjoyed the demo and loved the story line.
1. What do you think of the game so far?
It's really good! Haven't play a good game like this for a while~ And I especially liked the soundtracks a lot ^^

2. Who are generally your favourite characters, and why?
Lenine~ Haha idk why though.

3. What are some questions you want answered the most in the full game?
1.Who is Anyu
2. The main characters' pasts
3. How Mika and the princess obtained their powers
4. Why does Lenine avoid mirrors?
5. What bad deed did the princess did in her past?
etc etc.

4. What do you predict are answers to these questions?
Will leave them for myself for the mean time.

5. Which characters do you find the most curious or interesting? (Can overlap with #1)
Three of them, actually... But if you want me to pick one, maybe Princess Micaiah because she seemed to have done something evil in the past.

6. What do you generally think of the story so far?
Great, I love it!

7. What particular scene(s) did you like in the demo?
Lenin has to hide from the 'thing' haha. I was glad that I examined the rooms before encountering it. I also like the last part of Princess Micaiah where there was the "Hello" and "Goodbye" writings LOL~

8. Favorite chapter and protagonist?
Can't decide... All of them were really good. I died tons of time during the Mika chapter orz

9. … Pairings/Ships, do you have any?
Fleur and Rainer XD They're so cute together haha.

10. Was it scary?
Not that much but a little. Love the BGM though~ Add jumpscares, that'd be great!

11. What’s your favourite part to play through?
Lenin hiding from the 'Thing'

12. Take a random screenshot!
Hey guys :)

I would really like to play this game (and give some feedback about it as well) but I..can't.

First issue:
If I start it, everything is fine - I enter "begin" and then the only thing I can see is a little.."watch"? Spinning around? I guess it's like a little sign in the textbox which shows you could read the next textbox. But apart from that thing I don't see anything else, textwise.

Second issue:
A girl stands besides a bed, "little textbox-watch", "little textbox-watch", "little textbox-watch" - and then .....

It's saying:
Script "AMS" line685: RGSSError occured.
failed to create bitmap.

Idk what's happening but something seems to be very wrong.. what can I do to play the game?
Other games work fine.... Can anyone help me? The game looks so nice I really want to try it out.. :(
I love the fact that there are 2 editions of "So You Want to be the Comic Relief"
Perfect! The fourth wall has been briefly broken!

1. It's similar, but different, if that makes sense. Ib took an Art theme, Mad Father took an undead uprising theme, Witch's House made a witch's house theme... You have the mechanics of a standard rpg horror, but you took a Witch Trials/Religion theme. I've never seen that in these games before. If somebody has, show me which way to go. I didn't expect the moon to disappear, of all things. This theme of conspiracy is rare in horror games, I think, where you're at risk of being misled on multiple accounts, because you're dropped in and don't know who to trust. That's why you're Mika in the beginning, because you can relate. You start off in the dark and start looking for answers. And when you find them, the demo's over. You found a way to keep me occupied. I didn't talk to my boyfriend for an entire hour because of your demo. And keep in mind, that's not even the whole GAME! One hour is the demo. I'm expecting at least 1 or 2 more hours of gameplay from here on in. I really, earnestly hope that you do this wholeheartedly. I don't know where it's going, but I'm with you in this journey.
2. Rainer was funny. Reminded me of Italy from Hetalia. I love Lenine. I'm pretty sure he doesn't get paid at all, which makes the joke hit hard.
3.
Is this a recycling of the role of the Goddess's heir, which is why Micaiah is being targetted? What happened to the boy that Mika rescued? Is there something important in regards to Dai? And if Anyu is the messiah, who do we, as the player, trust?

4.
I think that if the "things" can overthrow the princess, then the reign of religion can be stopped. The humans clearly aren't the only ones suffering. I hope that the boy can do something helpful for Mika in the recent future.

5. That little boy was interesting. For a while I thought that Castor was Euphy's brother because of the hair colors. I guess not.
6. I had to piece together in my head what was going on in Chapter 2. I got lost for a bit because of that and didn't know I had to read Castor's book. Once I did, I played through it like normal. I did like that Chapters One and Two occur simultaneously at one point.
It was a massive contrast in the Prologue and Chapter Two, because we go from a girl who's hated for her powers, imprisoned and removed from any chances of being freed to coincidentally encountering the strange boy, or as Castor called him, "the devil's rat" - to a princess who was given powers to use for what she had been promised was good, and there is a hint of laziness to her. One worked toward freedom and the other is being forced through hell. I can tell you won't stop there, and it makes me want more.

7. The one that set my heart racing was Lenine. I don't think any one is any more a protagonist than the other. From the preview of the full game, it seems like they're all going to endure their pasts in order to give us players a better understanding of their character, in terms of who they are and what they believe. For example, Mika is a little girl, a clean slate with no knowledge of what's to come. This experience can make or break her at any moment, but she still moves forward. Lenine was probably accustomed to working alone and encountered the princess. From what I saw in the preview, he probably HAD to go to the castle. He was the one going into
the Music Room
, since he wrote down a call to arms, in a sense. He's smart enough to not have underestimated
"the things". And the irony and subtle hints of Micaiah's world that it wasn't the truth really hit hard. Fleur seems like the kind of girl to remember her livelihood and for Rainer to be so worried about what was already actively part of her perspective was truly interesting to me. Micaiah, the poor dear, is having the wool pulled over her eyes, that nothing is perfect.

9. Rainer and Fleur, no doubt... I know people will ship Mica and Len, as well as Euphy and Len, but...I dunno,
I think an evenly-matched couple would be cool to see...An all-out battle between good and evil with Mica and Anyu. And as they say, opposites attract.
I figure Mika likes Dai, even though we don't quite know enough about him.
10.
The game of hide and seek was. That creepy voice... The music.... The chase scenes are a bit...weird...Usually in these games there'll be something like when you hold a button you can run? It didn't seem like much effort was put in until the part where you run and the balcony's broken anyway, so you technically HAD to get caught. But...Mica holding back her potential at that point makes it a bit hard for me to trust her... There's something in there that I don't like, but I don't know what...

11. Aw god, that's tough... I think I was most invested in Lenine's story, but Mika's gameplay was the best. To be lurking in the shadows and hiding, having an inability to fight, that's pretty good in a horror game, because it creates a feeling of helplessness, where the protagonist can't hurt anyone; they can only run and find means of escape. Maybe it's because he's a male butler, but I like Lenine's story thus far.
12.
Will there be a mac version coming out?
