You have the power to split the world into half. You can destroy buildings, overturn mountains…
But you are still powerless against a human.
Even a human who wants to kill you.
Hey, isn’t that ironic? Isn’t that funny?
… Why aren’t you laughing, Mika-chan?

Lenine lives in a huge palace as the most trusted servant of Princess Micaiah, the only place of beauty remaining in a desolate, destroyed land. Everything is perfect - the food is good, the job is good, life is good. As long as nobody leaves this palace of salvation, there is no need to dwell on the horrors that lie beyond these walls.

Until one day, a mysterious stranger arrives... to teach these content souls the true price of perfection.

Mica: Apoptosis is a story-based game with horror elements about a web of delusions, a life of blissful ignorance, and the monstrous depravity that human beings can fall to in the name of love and admiration. The gruesome, revolting truth hidden behind the guise of a pretty, charming little lifestyle. Explore the game through three very different main characters with three very different perspectives, and tell your story as you believe it to be.

So powerful, yet so fragile… your life is like a candle, ready to be snuffed between my fingers.
I can slowly strangle you to death, and you can’t even flail to defend yourself.
You’re so funny, Mika-chan.

Mica: Apoptosis focuses on the experiences of three very stricken people, who are closer than they think, yet vastly different. And when things start changing, they begin their journeys on parallel lines, separated from one another.

Princess Micaiah, who owns a grand castle in the woods, hidden from society;

Lenine, her loyal servant, who is separated from her at the most crucial time and sees the world in a frighteningly different way;

and Himeya Mika, a young girl who chances upon the castle one day, and finds it empty and desolate...

This is their story.

I love all the new screenshots. I really want to discover all the mysteries and play. The characters seem so interesting and the art is beautiful! :D
This is cool looking game. I look forward to the plot rwisters. btw thank you for voicing Benyamine
I was surprised, when I found out that this game is developed by the same person that made "Six Rules" which I liked a lot. Subscribed!
Really looking forward to this game, the art is fantastic and the story and characters also seem to be very interesting. Subscribed.
Just finished the demo and I was so impressed. I thought it was going to be good but I never imagined it to be so freaking awesome. You left me wanting more. Everything was so professional and beautiful. There are so many mysteries and untold stories and I want to know more about each character and their involvement in the story. The scary moments were brilliant, and If I played this at night I think I would have been afraid to go to sleep. The music fits the atmosphere very well and the art is gorgeous. The full version is going to be epic!!!
Only at Lenine's chapter and I am hooked. So many mysteries in this story that seem to be separate at first but all come together at the end. I love the characters too, especially the Princess and Lenine. Will post more on thoughts once I finish the demo...
Great game. Here's what I have so far:

When I tried opening Lenine's profile, I got an error.

In the part where Mic tries to break the metal, you should place a save point there instead of her room. It saves time on skipping the cutscene.

I ended up rage quitting in the fire part >.> So I don't know what came after or how close I was to the end of the demo. Overall the game had good atmosphere, a good plot, and I liked it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the comments! And the advice, though I won't be adding a savepoint outside of Mika's room because there's really no point to having two save points on the same map, and a really small one at that! You can just walk back into the cell to save your game. And since it's a horror game, you should be saving a lot. Or are you talking about something else?

Here are some pretty obvious hints on the fire part. If you need to know the exact number to crack the puzzle, send me a PM! :)
Sorry, I should've clarified more.

I'm talking about the part leading up to the fire part, where the princess is trying to break some sort of metal. I think it'd be more helpful if the save point was outside her room rather than inside, so people don't have to see the cutscene over and over again.
Ahh, I get what you mean! Sure, I can do that. :) Thanks for the suggestion! Hope you managed to solve the fire puzzle.
Regarding the fire part, the number puzzle itself was cool but it throws one off at first because the sole green spirit is an angel (demon?) that tricks and kills you and I figured the other ones were enemies (cuz... fire) until I did a couple of laps around the place.

If the ability to talk to them were more clear I definitely don't think you'd even need the full ~9 minutes you can get talking to the crystal.
This is a nice game. It could be better if only you could get rid of the timed puzzles. Especially the one
where Lenine has to hide within 10 seconds, despite being allowed a 30s timer. That's very confusing to die because of that since the hiding place was right, but the timer wasn't and nothing tells us about it.

And try to stop the timer when there's text displayed. It's not fair ^^

Also, in Chapter 2 near the end, you're giving instructions which in fact are not to be followed:
Micaiah saying that she has to run, only to die if she does.

You can't oblige to do the "wrong" thing before doing the "right" thing.

There are just a few things but they work against the player. And frustration is no fun at all. A walkthrough should be for help, not mandatory.

Some minor passability issues (especially in the kitchen in Chapter 1) but nothing game breaking so far. However, not being able to walk through some blood stains and having to walk around them is somewhat tedious.

On the good side, the musics are well chosen and the general sound ambience is great. Good job there!
I'm only hearing about the :30 second trick since reading this thread because I booked it to that closet the minute it said to run.

What's the faux-chase in chapter 2 you're referring to? I only remember one with the Things where I was caught but Micaiah just killed them anyway.
I've tried hiding in the closet with 15s or so remaining.
Lenine went in, heard noises and then got killed.
With still more time to hide and being killed in the closet, a normal player would assume that it's not the correct place to go (got killed) and that it may be farther (30s is too much for that closet).

When in fact this is the correct place but the timer is wrong.

Yes, this chase.
Micaiah is afraid, says "I should run" and when caught
"nah, just pretending"
. That feels strange when played.
Thanks for the advice! Yep, I agree that those puzzles may give the player the wrong idea on what to do next and cause a bit of frustration. I'll try to make them flow better in the full version!
Hi I love your game even if I got a bit lost playing Micaiah. I cant figure out what I am missing to advance the story. I've cleaned the portrate, threatened Leone, the kitchen won't let me in, the doors to the guest rooms are locked, the wind in blowing in the balcony and I have spoke to a girl who's memeory is not working quite right. I know I am still missing something.
