Demo coming soon

Progress Report

Abandon Blog. Abandon Highway.

Good news, everyone! I still live! Also, as of writing this, I have completed Abandon Highway, the area immediately following Purple Lands. It is a much longer area than Tall Hills, but it's not quite as long as Purple Lands.

Allow me to use this opportunity to break down the areas you'll traverse in the game. To give you an idea of the length of each area, I will assign each a score, with 1/4 being just as long as the first area of the game, Valley Village, and 4/4 being about as long as Purple Lands, the main area of Demo 1.

This is what I have so far:
Valley Village: This is where you start. Very short, not much to do besides a single fetch quest. Length: 1/4
Tall Hills: First dungeon. No quests, very linear, short. Length: 2/4
Purple Lands: Large area, encompasses swamps, forests, a fairly large town and a small dungeon. Length: 4/4
Abandon Highway: Extremely linear, but sizeable and includes a number of NPCs who have stuff for you to do. Length: 3/4

The following areas are planned to be included in the full game:
Robotropolis: Another large area with a lot of stuff to do and lots of plot - this area may be exclusively unique battle encounters. Estimated length: 4/4
Cold Desert: The penultimate area you will see in this game. Will probably be similar to Abandon Highway in terms of length and stuff to do. Estimated Length: 3/4
Secret area: This area will be the final area of the game and will probably remain secret until you play the full game and see it for yourself. Estimated length: 1/4

No more is planned for the game as of right now. Including Abandon Highway, the game is currently very linear - however, starting with Robotropolis, you will actually have choice on where to go and what to do. But more on that later.

Announcement

Hello world, and: demo released

Hello everyone,
does everybody here like SPACE FUNERAL? Here's a thing that's kinda similar but hopefully not fraudulently so. Before I proceed, I really want to emphasize, if it wasn't for Space Funeral, Steel Western definitely wouldn't exist.
Anyway, demo should be available for download now. I called it "Demo 1" (which, in hindsight, I shouldn't have done), but it's very probably gonna be the only demo of the game. You will have to restart once the full game's released, so keep that in mind before you decide to waste about 45 minutes of your time (much more if you explore all the things). Thanks for playing if you do.
