Shippu la Senpu is an arcade shmup (shoot 'em up) under the top-down perspective. In Shippu la Senpu, you play as Ryuko Matoi, fighting hordes of COVERS enemies and of course the arch nemesis pair, Harime Nui and Kiryuin Ragyo. Aside from fighting the bad guys and collecting items as well powerups, you have to also protect your BFF Mako and the Naked Sun battleship who closely follow you and supply you with bombs every now and then. The goal is to survive for as long and gather as much score as possible.

There is a second playable character, but you will have to somehow unlock them.

Shippu la Senpu is a fanmade game adaptation of the anime show Kill la Kill made by Studio Trigger. We love the show, and since there was a Kill la Kill Game Jam over at Tumblr, we thought we should give it a try and make something up to pay tribute to one of our most favorite shows. It took quite a long time under development, but finally we're nearing completion. So here we go, Shippu la Senpu, an arcade shoot 'em up game about Kill la Kill.

  • Shippu la Senpu is available on both Windows and Mac.
  • Shippu la Senpu is collaboratively developed and presented to you by Clerya Games & Stron9est Studios.

Thank you, AnimeNEXT!

Hi, everyone, this is Sai! I've recently attended AnimeNEXT and had a great time as an artist, as well as showcasing Shippu la Senpu, a Kill la Kill themed shmup made by Clerya Games and stron9estudios. The objective of the game is to rack up as many points shooting up COVERS and surviving the bosses of the game, Nui Harime and Ragyo Kiryuin.

Pictured below was the booth I was at! It's blurry because I was so stoked, haha.

Along with playing the game, I included some prize tiers for players! It was a lot of fun doing a mini arcade at my table.

On Friday, a lot of people really struggled with facing Nui, but eventually we reeled in some players that were seasoned in shoot-em-ups come Saturday! An awesome Touhou veteran defeated both bosses and unlocked Satsuki with an impressive 26500 score; he definitely deserved prizes for that! From there 'til Sunday was anyone's game! Having Satsuki playable opened up a whole new world for high scores. The highest score all weekend was at 40530!

Players that frequented the booth were really astounded by the scores!

It was really amazing to see people pick up the game and give it a go, Kill la Kill fans and non-fans alike. Just about everyone enjoyed playing the game, and some even came back to play! This by far is one of the more interesting tabling experiences I've had, and I really want to thank the team for making a fun game, and for you players out there who gave Shippu la Senpu a whirl as well as feedback! And if you have anymore input but weren't able to give it to me during convention, please feel free to drop us a line. <:

ALSO, for those who stopped by my table and weren't able to grab any merch I had at my table, I will have my store updated with more stock this week! You can check everything out at the Paprika Carnival online store. My art partner-in-crime shunao also has some neat stuff at her online store!

I am going to die on the battlefield.

That is the spirit, soldier!~ *salutes*
Hi, my name's Late to the Party!

Anyways, finally setting a bit of time aside for this game, I noticed some weird things:
1) The background and cloud graphics don't tile right. Basically, it seems that every other time the graphic should be repeated, there's just black/empty space.

2) I tried to use Joy2Key so I could play with a PS2 pad instead of a keyboard, and while the Space key would work, the arrow keys wouldn't. By that, I mean not work in this game specifically -- in every other program I tested the arrow keys worked as usual.

3) What is the screen nuke graphic supposed to look like, because it looks really blocky.

These issues might just be my computer, though. I tried WitchWorks earlier today and managed to get down to LESS than 1 FPS on several occasion. Thankfully this game runs better than that, averaging about 40, but takes a brief dive whenever a graphic or sound is triggered for the first time.
@turkeyDawg: I'm sorry this may sound like a negligent answer to your issues but ... I really have no idea why they're happening for you. Everything works fine for me and I can say everybody who's tried the game so ... It might just be your computer. Is it possible for you to try it on another computer to see if you can reproduce the problems?
Yeah, turns out my old laptop is just hopeless -- on another, newer computer the graphics are just fine. The J2K issue still remains, but everything else was fine.
