"My name is Felix Omin.
Ever since I was born, I've been afraid.
Afraid of what?
What is there not to be afraid of...
"

Story:
Cardiophobia follows Felix, a teenager with a unique heart condition.
Whenever his heartbeat raises, he cannot get it back to normal without taking medicin.
Living with such a condition makes it hard to have a normal life, but he manages at his new home.
One night, there is a blackout in the house and weird things start to happen.
Felix finds himself trying to survive the rest of the night, while saving his friends.

Premise:
In this game there are Scares and Spooks.
Scares are things that make Felix's Heartbeat rise. If it gets too high, he dies. The scares don't always happened either, most of them have conditions.
Spooks, on the other hand, are harmless. However, these things only appear depending on how scared Felix is, stuff like blood, messages, noises.

You will be faced with puzzles that range from very easy to thinking outside the box, and most of them are optional. However, puzzles isn't the only things you will have to face before you can escape...

The game is meant to be played multiple times, because I doubt it's possible to get the best ending on your first playthrough.

It's important to note, that even though it has horror elements, I would rather say this is a puzzle-survivor game. The scares are more for Felix the character, but if I manage to scare someone else, then I do see that as a plus. The scares also varies from small things to more elaborate.

This game contains:
  • Ending that recaps what you did or did not do in your playthrough, with 8 different endings.

  • Multiple puzzles that range in difficulty.

  • Multiple playthroughs.

  • With over 50 Scares.

  • New Game+ saving to keep track of your unlock progress.

Authors notes (Might be important to read through):
This project started years ago, and over those years, I've been working on this game from time to time. Some weeks more than others. Lately, I haven't felt like wanting to go back to this game. Don't get me wrong, the game is complete, but it has been complete for a long while, I've just been adding more to the game. I feel like if I don't release this game now, it will never be released.

With that being said, I just wanna say that I am not an artist or anything, this game has problems. Spelling error, dialogs being just plain bad etc. You kinda have to take this game with a grain of salt.

Just like any game, it is not 100% bug free, but I'm pretty sure all the game breaking bugs are gone (The ones that crash the game).

Thanks

I'm really stoked about Cardiophobia getting over 50k views, so I just really wanted to say thanks for that.

I also wanted to say thanks for the spotlight, I couldn't believe it at first when I saw it.

While the making and first couple of weeks after completion had some rough patches, I've had a lot of fun watching people play the game and hear all of the feedback in the comments.

I don't know what else to say, thanks for everything.

So far, I've only gotten to the "blood in a jar" part. I haven't really ran into any major bugs/issues and I kinda have an Idea on what happens if I keep seeing the doll too many times throughout the game. All speculation but It's kinda fun to think ahead.

Also giving props on not giving the whole "shiny thing here pick it up." that most games use. It involves a little more exploring.

I do have a second video up if anyone wants to check it out.
Again, thanks for the game daniel.

It's nice that you are seeing it like that instead of seeing it like busywork, having to interact with everything around you.

Like I said, this game has problems.
I'm just past the Part where Ghos7soldier is,
I'm currently trying to work out the combination to the cabinet in Levi's room. I've discovered all the numbers in the maze, used the "Primary" colours in every combination and also used any colourful flower/object in the maze to help aid me in decoding the clue but alas, it all escapes me... I'll need some help for this one.

It gives a reason to look around that and most objects you can interact with. For example, the medic key gives me a reason to look period. Those things are useful. If I can find one, I'm gonna get that medicine yo.

Some will complain about "not showing them where to look." but in my eyes, the game is about looking. The thrill of solving it. Bumping into other items/solutions along the way.

I wasn't expecting to find the green key where I did but hey..it worked lol. I'm not even at a green door yet.

I guess it comes down to perspective. :)

Funny enough, I have another video up solving that puzzle. Of course google and a little testing helped out but it took me a good few tries. One of those "plug the right 3 in the right order eventually."

I like how there were 4 of em. Threw me in for a loop.

It shows me that you put a lot of thought into a simple little puzzle. Props for that too. =x
Ok, I'm stuck at the bear puzzle as well. I have an idea but I have no indication or anything. Can I beg for a hint or two?

The hint I got helped. I just need to play it. I haven't had time to sit down and do it. I kinda had an idea and he confirmed it. I just didn't want to waste hours on end on a useless idea is all. I didn't get the answer though. Gotta work for that.
it seems that there's a glitch in the west wing on second floor.
At the part where you head down past mothers room in the hall (After you've dealt with Robin and Mother) to get back to the save room, the door is supposed to open and a chase scene, I think, is supposed to occur. Sadly the door opens but no one comes out, leaving the game in a frozen state.

It works fine for me. Can you replicate the glitch? Cause if there is a bug in the game, I don't see where. Maybe it was a one-time thing?

But have you gotten the chase? I'm guessing so and it worked without a hitch...

Probably an isolated incident, the glitch you got. Maybe it wasn't a bug but the game that crashed? Like I said before, does the game freeze for you every time?

Random thoughts

nice title

nice intro

names over the avatars!? next gen rpg m!

Plot

Honestly i cant really give much detail w/o ruining the story. you find out stuff as you go thru the game.
but the gist of it is your a male around 16 who is in this mantion with a bunch of people.you go to sleep and wake up in the middle of the night and things start to happen :3
trust me its much better then it sounds :3

Character

you control 1 character Felix is his name again i cant say anything really as it would ruin the game.
but he is your main guy and his personality somewhat depends on the the player
like him? don't? i don't have a opinion. he did what he was there for :3

Gameplay

Expect no rpg battles, with jumpscares,a dark atmosphere, physiological horror, puzzles ranging from easy to making you want to hit something hard(which is fine as you can end the game b4 the worst ones)
changing rooms and scares galore!

overall
horror and romance are not my favorite genres putting that aside
i LOVED this game. it was dynamic epic and the puzzles were genius!
if your good with depressing settings, jumpscares and using your brain
i highly recommend this title!

Oh OK, then it works, it was just an isolated incident then.

Also, thanks for the feedback. When it comes to the story, even through a lot are "explained", there's still room for filling in the blanks. Also, just because I tell you a frog crossed the street, you don't have to believe me and make up your own interpretation.
Hi, im translator of rpg games, i want to translate the game to spanish,

Can I ask how that works? Am I suppose to send you a copy of the game that isn't encrypted? Cause I'm using a script that I'm not allowed to share, so I don't know how that would work to be honest :o
Apparently I suck at this. I'm stuck with 1 red eye, know for the dragon statue, golden key, and no medicine. I've got one medkit key too. Can not for the life of me figure out where to go. This is right after the bear puzzle too. I want to say the "mothers note" leads to the garden assuming it's for her locked closet, still haven't figured that out. Used all obvious clues.
