Progress Report

Progress Update.

Yes. HOME is still being worked on. It will probably be worked on up until the very final hour it is released as finished. The release date will be late week, as planned it will come out some time around Halloween. Spooky coincidences indeed. Right now I'm doing minor sprite fixes, and going over all the dialogue starting from Zone 0. A lot of that dialogue was written back in 2013 and some of it needs re-written and there's a lot of typos to fix. Thank the few of you who are being patient and waiting to even touch this game until the final release has been shown. You will get a more pure and final opinion of the game, and thank you who have beta tested and worked through the bugs and typos to give me a good feel on whats good and whats not good. You are all helpful in getting this game released.

As of today, HOME is officaly finished.

In terms of programming and beta testing. HOME is finished. The final battle and cutscene has been programmed. All that is left is to program the ending credits for the endings.

Chapter 2 of the courtroom finished.

However, I won't be releasing an update for it. Updates for this chapter will be done privately with a small team of testers so I can find bugs easier. When chapter 3 is finished HOME 0.9.0 will be released, and after that I will shoot for a full release. I thank you all for being patient with my progress. Life has become a rather busy thing for me, and I haven't had as much time as I used to have to work on HOME. Combined with this part of the game being entirely new, and near the end. I do have to scrap a lot of content and do my best to make sure everything is good and proper.

Regarding anyone who had their game crash after fighting Japhet.

I have since found a fix to that issue, simply redownload and fight Japhet and the game shouldn't crash at all. To be honest I don't know what happened to cause the event error but it was an easy fix.

Beta update HOME 0.8.5 is out.

This is the first chapter of the courtroom, with a small preview of chapter 2.
There is a likely-hood of bugs in this update, but I did run it through a couple of bug runs and found nothing. There are no enemies in the courtroom as I'm still gathering monster sprites and balancing these enemies out. There isn't going to be very many battles during the Judge's chapter as it is full of puzzles and encounters take away from puzzles, generally making them more frustrating.


On top of that, I made a few changes to Alain's skills. His Reckless Duress skill was bugged in a previous update and it ended after one round, I now extended it and it should last 3 to 4 rounds.

Concering HOME updates

This is to the recent 0.8.0 update

I’m sorry if you’ve downloaded a version of HOME and you ran into a bug here or there. I’ve updated HOME about 6-7 different times today, each fixing a new bug. If you run into any single error try and download a new copy and see if that fixes the problem as I’m generally uploading a fix the moment a bug is mentioned to me. Just about anyone who downloaded the update the day I posted it yesterday is guaranteed to run into one bug or another. I apologize as I've been mentally drained and stressed, with a lot of problems going on in my life. I do however swiftly fix and update any and all bugs pointed out to me and upload a fix instantly. So yea... If you ran into a bug, try downloading HOME again and see if the problem persists.

The Judge

Luxurious Purr: No longer heals for ~1000. Instead heals entire party for ~400. Increased CP cost.
Hopeful Purr: New skill learned at lv30. Fully heals target. Costs 25% CP.



Alain

Decoding Palpate: Now restores HP AND CP.
Leeching Palpate: Increased damage.
Shredding Palpate no longer ignores armor
Sly Palpate: Increased damage.

Jozlyn

Ecstatic Osculate: Now removes Migrane.
All Osculates now heal for more, scaling with the CP cost of the skill. (Higher CP cost = more healing done.)

Two new hidden bosses added.
Five new hidden images added. One can be found in each zone. (not including Zone 0.)
and the 5th image obtained from a certain hidden boss.
Finding all dopefish now has a purpose.

If you had any issues in a previous download. (not being able to open your menu, cat's eye not working, not being able to progress past Pure Zone 4) Then re-download the game. I have since updated the link with a plethora of bug fixes.

Yea. I'll be releasing an update soon that will include Pure Zone 2-3-4-0.
After that, I'll be working on the Courtroom. Once the courtroom will be finished, I'll be uploading the finished product itself. I'm both nervous and excited. After a full year of work this game is almost to a curtain call.

Pure Zone 2 complete.

100% finished with Pure Zone 2. Will start on Pure Zone 3 tomorrow afternoon.
Probably won't get finished for about a week, as Zone 3 has a lot of maps and areas to explore and my general laziness. Depends on my motivation levels. :3

Slight error on my part regarding Zone 2 library. Update your game.

I left the encounter rate way too high on the Zone 2 library when I was trying to figure out a problem someone was having. I'm now uploading a fix. Simply downloading the new version and copying over your save.lsd from the previous HOME folder to the new one will allow you to continue where you left off.
