Balance Patch v2018.11.06

Some balance changes added according to Countyoungblood 's feedback on RMWeb!

Balance Changes:
> Solar strike = Always hit
> Boomerang = Always hit. Cooldown increased to 3. Stun duration reduced to 1
> Sigil of Wyvern = evasion now works on magic too
> Remove passive counter from the troll. Now placed on enrage boost instead
> Enrage boost remove chance by damage increased from 20% to 40%
> Add passive 15% magic reflection chance for lunar
> Boosted Lunar magic defense
> Slightly boost exp gain from shamans
> Added random item gain from pit demon scripted encounter
> Reduced shaman Magic Defense. But raise Arcane resist to 10%
> Reduced priest Magic Defense. But raise Arcane resist to 25%

(You can now use fireball on them)
> Pit Demon scripter encounter rewards will be some random item gains.
> Reduced chance of shamans to use dangerous skills
> Chance shamans to cast shield now only at <40% HP. Changed from <75% HP
> Stun was removed from troll's counterattack in easy/normal mode


System Changes:
> Quick save/load now use last used slot instead of slot 1
> Reworked the description of these following skills
- Flame Cloak
- Magic Barrier
- Marking Shot
> Spike warning. An exclamation mark will pop up at 3 tiles range within the spike, you might not feel cheated. Will not work on hard mode difficulty.

> Minor dialogue changes at the ending to connect with the sequel (probably a kinda important one).

You know your game will never free of bugs.

You think your game is free of bugs? Ha, have a nice dream!

So recently two of my players apparently managed to smoke out some bugs (again) on this project.

The first bug was nothing big deal and can easily miss. But if you want to try to replicate the bug, it's the quick load. If you press F8 without having anything in save slot 1, it will crash. Easy fix would be never press quick load when you have no saves.

Second bug is more like a glitch, abusable glitch that if you give Soleil cloudwing boots and he got counterattacked, and he still have one action remain, he can use item. It's nothing game breaking, but it just cheat-able.

This patch is optional, and you can totally live and play my game without it. But if u do download the patch, put it in Data folder, and overwrite the script.rvdata2

Update the game after 3 years, why not?

As for why I updated this, really I have no specific reason other than just satisfy myself. I also feel bad after these years not updating it after I got much feedback from my players.

New stuff:
> Added one new battle music
> Added new element damage popup (Some of my players keep missing damage elements)

> Added clue to find hidden item (Blinking object, but it will not be available in hard mode)
> Added clue for floor 3 (will not be available in hard), because it's the least fave floor based on some of my LPers

> Added states information (shown by pressing SHIFT during actor selection), because some people don't know what these status does.

> Added shop heal limit (easy/normal = no limit, hard = 2 times)


Bug fixes:
- Fixed bug: Reflected projectile didn't kill actor
- Fixed bug: Necromancer use heal on first turn (Hopefully fixed)
- Fixed bug: Corona strike didn't count as ranged attack
- Fixed bug: Opening Stella's skill menu cause crash (no need the old patch anymore)

Changes:
- Changed cutin BG (thx to tv.ghost)

- Changed enemy state name from "Diamond Skin" to "Metal Skin" to make it more intuitive regarding their weakness.
- Minor change to some of the dialogues
- Removed dual language support (too lazy to cross check)

Balancing:
- Enemy Vipersnake now acts twice
- Increase Lunar's eclipse and curse damage deal from 45% to 80%

Dev note:
With all these changes, I somehow sure that I might missing some of either bug, glitch, or typo (especially on state description). If you found one, please let me know!

Oh I also plan to redesign the whole character, for maybe the sequel (or just promo art in general), and I just finished Stella. Here is the preview :D

Heyo, it's been a while (I mean a really while) since the last time I touched this game. Even though I'm still quite unclear how it's gonna be, but at least I proudly announce that now I'm working on the sequel right now. Here's a little video teaser. Game updated!

Ok folks! Just as I promise now I update the game. This update focused on rebalance the encounter and added a little stuff on the battle screen.

Update list:
Update TSBS version 1.4 + patch
Slow the chase speed of encounter
Added some secret encounters in hard mode
Automatically guard when surprised. Just make sure that you wont get hurt so much
Added some battle tips.
Added skill info in battle.
Added Lunar skill cutin


Even tho I updated the battle system to TSBS version 1.4, it is not really different

Planned update

Ok, folks! I've made up my mind that I'm going to update my game, Skyward Temple. I'm aware it has a lot of design flaws ever since I watched most of people did Let's Play video. Some people complaint about the exploration, some didn't know some essential features like Free Turn Battle. They just command the actor without selecting who will gonna do the first action.

First update list. This is my top priority
An additional help window to show the skill details (and even for the normal attack). Some people I saw they didn't know what the skill element and type. Picking the right element to attack the enemy is important here.





These are working screenshot and probably not final yet. That's why I didn't put them in image gallery

Second update list. A battle tip for Free Turn Battle
Just added a little help tell you that you could select the actor which is going to do the first action. Some people really missed this feature. Ok, that's could partially my fault since I never told the player



Third update list. Encounter rebalance
Even I use evented encounter, there's a chance that you might be surprise attacked. When your party surprised, they could do one hit kill to your actor. In hard mode, you could instantly gameover without doing anything because the enemies were so overpowered. That's not fair, I'm aware. Now, I added a little bonus when your party surprised. They automatically switch to defend mode so they took a half damage while the enemies surprise them. Fair enough?

Also, I saw some people were annoyed with the map encounters. They were so fast, hard to avoid, yet many. As the developer, I could escaped easily since I know well the dungeon map. But it isn't for the player. I decided to make them slower

Fourth update list. TSBS version 1.4 stable update
Yes, it will still be the sample game for my battle system. I will release the stable version of the TSBS together with the sample game. Though, this game won't do a showcase what's new in the newest version of TSBS (like battle camera or such). I just updated the battle system.

Newest Version of the Battle System Released!

It's been a while since the last time I updated this game blog. For you who download this game in order to see the sample game of the battle system, it's already outdated. The newest version just released yesterday. This game uses version 1.3c, while the newest version is 1.4. You can check the script by clicking this link

Patch added for skill menu crash issue.

If you ever experienced a crash when accessing menu, you can download this patch. You just need to replace the script.rvdata2 in Data folder. Though, this issue is actually avoidable. I'm sorry for inconvenience everyone m(_ _)m
