Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

I played this, and my thoughts are the same as ghost. The last few pages of this game page are pretty deplorable, though. It makes you wish you had more control over your own pride and work.

I believe the potential lies in nicob more so than forever's end. I hope that doesn't come across as insulting. There are issues with this game that took shape from an evolving game developer. The difference in quality between the beginning of the game and a few hours in show this. At this point, it would be better for nico to keep on going, rather than trying to go back and fix his past mistakes. I've said this before, but a game tends to get messy when its been in production for a long time. I've even gone as far to say that there is an actual time limit on production for a persons game simply because of the quality difference you'll see over the course of 1-2 years. I think this is an example of that...

Happy gaming everyone!!

I have too much to do already, and I am a huge jerk and probably won't finish and was legitimately pissed at the game (that post I made was after waiting a day or two for my brattiness to wear off some).

HEY NICOB DO YOU STILL WANT THAT LET'S TRY I mean if you don't hate me (I had to remove this part because I have to play nice because I actually am capable of respect)
I liked this game the first time around I played it. I look forward to playing this one when I have the time. Nice to see a good game released this stage into it's development.

Have general slowdown here and there. Is there any way to remedy it?
Sometimes (in castle sewers) bad enough to be unplayable.
What are 'actual' system requirements? Or what, if anyone knows, could cause such lags on not too shabby PC. -_-.

Sorry about this. I never encountered this kind of lag while testplaying. I'm still working on fixing it. However, for right now my best advice would be to close other applications while playing. Or if you have the Rm2k3 engine, try playing in testplay mode. Apparently, the lag disappears (not sure why though).
This is seriously good stuff. I'm going to write an updated review once I finish this.
So far I can say that Forever's End is one of the best RM2K3 games out there!
I found my self skipping battles just because I couldn't wait to see how the story builds up. Great job NicoB!
I have made 3 playthroughs already Nico and I thought I should let you know you have a wall of data coming up by next Friday.

1st play - I focused on every word used and the construction of sentences. I have a rather lengthy document on sentences that should change to make more sense or just make sense at all. I also have a small section on recommendations to the writing though I already went over that with you earlier and you said that writing was not your strong point. Anyways more on this in PM.

2nd play - I focused entirely on mapping here. Dude I found very little map bugs with most being on the forest map. Not bad Nico and LWG. I seriously tried hard to screw the game up somehow with this but to no avail. I mean you should have seen Demon Legacy or one of many other games I could cite that had loads of errors on mapping, but I won't cite any of them since those same game's creators are already here and can tell you themselves. Anyways more on this and links to the pics in PM.

3rd play - This playthrough was focused on finding balance issues.

On Friday next week you should have all my PMs as I should be done with my 9th and final play on that same day.

Just because they don't like your game the way it is now doesn't mean it's crap Nico. In fact couldn't we consider it worse to have no review then a bad one? Wouldn't that mean that the game wasn't even worth the time to criticize or offer feedback on? Like Demon Tower or Epic Monster Dungeon Explore 2? Who knows but as a long time game master for about 9 different tabletop games I can say that you will never satisfy everyone 100% with one game. Everyone is looking for something different in their entertainment. For some it's the drama and others the action.
Heh, I appreciate it tyranos. When I helped him out I focused more on typos than sentence structure, so that helps out alot. As for mapping bugs, I believe I gave him a few in those long list of bugs I gave him, so don't give up on those! The balance probably could use a bit of work, as I found myself using magic more than melee attacks, even with melee oriented characters. I also found very few tickets for epoche (I think I only found 4-5 max, minus the one given to me when it was introducted). Anyways, once the two of us are done with it, I doubt there will be many, if any at all, who will complain!

4) ???
5) Profit.

do people really still do this?
I finished Episode One a few days ago. I didn't encounter any lags because I have a good computer.

Regarding the language I can't say much because English isn't my main language. As long as there are no grammar or spelling errors it is fine and I like it. Didn't find anything like that so no complaints.

Battles are okay. I don't think they are that boring. There are enough characters and always new characters with new abilities and you have to capture monsters. This is okay and better than most of the other games.

Storyline is interesting I think. But it was a bit slow with the 4 different parts to play at the end. I suppose it will focus more on the main story and Richard/Marcellus/Alexander/... in the seconde episode when the the different party members meet in Dorent.

Good thing: The each of the 4 different little stories were not that big. New characters were introduced. And differenct locations. I think somebody mentioned it already. Nice maps. I liked the desert. No problem playing these even if the storyling is progressing a bit slower. I'm looking forward to the 2nd Episode.

Thanks for playing, Craze.

However, in regards to this....

Dye Rudras characters blue and screw over booble all you want, you're good at that, but... man

Fuck you. That was completely unnecessary.
Craze just love being a dick that all he's good for. awesome game by the way.

3) Stop being sexist. The only female character in the first fifteen minutes is a maid complaining about how men are pigs. There are references to 2-3 dead women in the time I played; men are strong and survivors, women are meant to die off. Also, you use the term "like a sissy little girl." Please enter the 21st century, where we try not to be horrible people

Why should art be politically correct? Not only that, why should the characters within a work of art be politically correct? Come on Craze, I know you're not retarded.
Well this recent playthrough just turned to shit. A boss cannot be hurt and creatures no longer can be captured. So I started over and am back where I was at. Anyways I have no idea what caused that bug but that was the first time it happened and the last. My attacks healed HP and MP to foes and party members alike and I figured out how to do it.

So has anyone seen Freakazoid? Aside from being the greatest show ever, there was a scene in the opening where hitting a certain sequence of numbers and letters causes you to get sucked into cyber space and turn into a freak. Where am I going with this? Well you won't get teleported anywhere but if you want to see something cool hit the number 1 to activate the objective text box while hitting spacebar in front and facing a save point and hitting the X key to bring up the menu all at the same time. I can't say it will work 100% but sometimes it bugs out the game and makes you heal instead of hurt and hurt instead of heal! At least on this save it is. Of course I didn't get the crash at the specified point that always seems to hit me so that could also be part of it. Could also be from repeated plays and/or lots of save games. Not sure but it's interesting to say the least. Broken code maybe?
Hi there,

please excuse my terrible English - I hope, you'll understand me.
I looooovvvvvee your game - it's great. But after playing every section four or five times, because the game is crashing, I've lost my patience. The problem may be

my very old computer
the large virtual memory needed

I've upgraded my virtual memory to maximum and I delete as often as I can the swapfile, but there are not enough save points - so if I do this all, I'll always have to start the section again.

In some areas it is absolutely impossible, to capture the enemies. At "Anubis Pass" for example.
Now I'm again in Lee's party at the Highway road, and after the third trial, to complete this area I've abandoned it.

The problem is not in the dungeon but in the outer area - within the dungeon I can walk normally, outside it lags....

I'm very sorry, it's one of the best games, I've ever played. And I've done very large games as Laxius Force and so on - I've never had such problems..

It's a great pity....

Kind regards
