Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

A Dying Planet's Last Breath

I say finish it first, then revise it. If you keep stopping to fix and develop areas you'll never get it done.... and I've been waiting a long time for this to be done.
Ah okay my mistake then. The dialouge didn't really show any distrust imo which made me interpret it diffrently than you intended. Again dialogue like that is tricky so thank you for clearing that up for me.
@Kersh: Elise still doesn't fully trust Epoch, but I was trying to show that she is conflicted about it. She can tell he's an honorable guy, but she can't forgive him for his actions in Levantia. Maybe I made them a bit too chummy at certain points, but I just didn't want there to be pure hatred between them the whole time they were together (Elise is already a tough girl, and I don't really want her come across too "bitchy" towards Epoch and make her totally unlikeable).

@Aurora: Try to equip speed-based accessories so that your turn comes around more quickly. If you've gotten any of those Gaia Shards, there is an area just south of that checkpoint that will give you an item that will really help with those fights. ;)

I've run into a snag with the first soul rend unlocks. Is there a recommended level for the first round of unlocks?

I've come close in winning the battle for Elise's soul rend. I'm able to get my spirit to full charge. However, the dark side always kills me the next turn and I never get a chance to attack.
You should be able to get through it just fine, by only guarding and building up the Soul Rend bar.

As far as I know, you shouldn't need to grind unless you ran from a lot of battles.

I've only run from a few battles and I've been clearing the areas of all monsters. Normally spamming spirit would get the job done. Except that in that in the soul rend battles activating spirit does not place you in defense mode. It only builds up spirit.

I was referring to Epoch and Elise maybe calling a love sub-plot was the wrong thing however it shows that he likes her, ok and she likes or at least cares about him but my point being is why she switches to caring about him far to quickly imo after he invaded her home and fought her. I will play the full release in hopes of liking it more, I am subscribed to it and like I said I don't hate it it's a pretty game and my tastes in the music go from like to hate (The common battle music is about the only theme I really hate). I don't really think I could do better but I just wanted more in the game. The reviews and comments probally just raised my hopes for this being something like The Way. My biggest complain in itself disregarding everything is Epoch I would rather have played Hero number 2 Alexander throughout the entire game.(Though I hate my own main character in my game so don't take it personally and I know the main character is the hardest to write.)
I'll stay subscribed and like I said it's not bad and I like it I just find myself forcing to play it in quick bursts instead of long periods of time like Assasin's Creed 1.
@Aurora: Not likely. Maybe a few small changes in dialogue, but nothing substantial.
I came across this game recently and was planning on starting the demo soon. However, if an updated demo will be out soon I'll wait until then.

Will the updated demo feature any changes to the storyline?
@Kersh: The story isn't going to be changing much, I honestly don't have the time to go back and redo every scene up until now. I know there are quite a few cliches being used in my game...I've been working on it for five years now and back when I started, I didn't really think about it very much. There are always things I think about changing, but this game is too far into development now for me to go back and redo whole sections. I've done my best to try and put a different twist on some of these ideas, but I know it isn't perfect. I guess this is the curse of a long development time (and also my first game).

Honestly though, if you haven't enjoyed any of the story or characters from the current release, you're probably not going to like the rest of it either (and I actually don't know what "love subplot" you're referring to; if you're referring to Epoch and Elise, you might be misinterpreting it).

@Tau: Hey I appreciate that, Tau. What would you be willing to help with in particular?]
Just hit me with a pm whenever.

@Kersh - Write a review :D
For a game that has no originality at all it's not so bad, I know nothing is original anymore but usually nothing is a cliche as this. However like I said it's not bad.

The characters are my biggest problem because they are probally the most cliche thing which if the story itself isn't great I would hope the character are too me only Marcellus is interesting even then cliche to it's core.

The love sub-plot damn dude it so so badly developed.
Now it is not a bad game it's nice. However I honestly feel myself becoming so fucking bored of this game some of dialogue is again so cliche and cheesy and my interest in the story and characters just dies because there is nothing interesting about any of it. People have been a bit too nice to you about this. I really really want to like it more than I do because of the reviews and comments but I can't like something when I'm so bored I start looking for something else to do while playing.

6.5/10 It is only a demo hopefully the game itself will be better.
@Nicob: I would very much like an update of the demo with the music as well!! Being as an additional composer on the project, I would really love to see how the new music fits together with the game.

@CastorOnline: I would also like to give a special shout-out to Jose's work as well. I am thrilled to hear your expansive work on this score! I've listened to some samples of your games in the past, and I really enjoy your musical language. Would much look forward to get to play this game with the full score included!!

So, Nicob.. for your composer's sake, it would be great to get to hear our contribution to the project!

Also, thanks for asking me to be a part of it! I appreciate your hard work on this game, and I very much look forward to playing it. All the best.

@Tau: Hey I appreciate that, Tau. What would you be willing to help with in particular?

@CastorOnline: Yeah, you're right. I suppose it's been long enough now. I told myself I didn't want to make another release until I had finished Episode Two, but it's silly to have all the original music just sitting around and not being used yet. My only thing is that to release a version that's the same as this with new music does mean I will have to cut out the new content at the end (by which I mean I'd remove it entirely from the game file; sorry, but I don't want people to be able to see it in the editor). You've been very patient though, so I will get to work on it.

@eplipswich: It's true, most of my time has been taken by my job and the LPs. The videos definitely became something I never really expected, so it has thrown a bit of a wrench in game development. I'm sorry about that...despite how it may look here though, I am still working on it, albeit slower than before. Maybe I do need some extra hands to help me out....

@chana: Nope!

Maybe I should start thinking about getting some help with coding or something...I've been very reluctant to do that because I like knowing where everything is and how it works. But this game has become so massive in scale that handling on my own is honestly like trying to lift a car. I'm also having some issues with parts of the story, so maybe we could bounce ideas off each other? Tau said he might be interested, is there anyone else?

I can say at least, that for the most part, I am happy with what I have done so far and only want to focus my attention on moving forward in the game (no going back and redoing shit).

He's too busy with his Let's Plays, to be honest. At that rate, it'll take "forever" for him to finish this game.

I'd be happy to speed things up if you needed any help Nicob. I gotta reply this, but I wanna try it with the original score though. That would be a nice simple update, release the exact same demo just with the original score in place, fans would rejoice and Forever's End would be more popular then well.. Ever :D

This user is wise, I think the same, at least an update with the original music of the game.
