It really bothered me that in this city(or the city in before-Christmas demo where Epoch was disguised), if you go straight into the pub and exit out the inn door, you don't have a chance to explore the rest of the city. Why not have a choice for the player to go to bed/continue to explore the town?

You're completely right. That was a goof-up on my part. I'll get right on that. Thanks!
I like the mapping here but I find the floor tile way too distracting, maybe if you could smooth its texture a bit, or just edit it to make it look darker in some areas than in others... perhaps it would look better that way.
about the street tile: the outline color of the cobbles should be much darker (imo). look at the roof tiles, they have a better outline color :)

Yes, the floor is slightly... blinding. it's the white outline around each brick/tile. A quick lesson on Visual Lines: Bright colors will always draw the most attention, and this is the brightest thing on your map, so my eyeball is pulled away from the sprites. I automatically look at the bottom-center then topleft corner, because those are your biggest spaces using only that bright tile - I have to actually focus on looking at the sprites.

Also it looks like you did some custom cleaning up of the auto-tile - it is angled in that alley between buildings, I like that! - but it's underneath the front stoop of that building. I admit to making a similar design choice on purpose, because I thought it'd be weird if the shadow was on top of something you could step on, but not on top of you if you stepped on it. I COULD make it cast on top fo you too, but there's just no pretty way to handle layered shadowing when you could stand on the tile below the shadow and the shadow would then get cast on your head... sigh!
Too bad wearing that outfit does not change his title to "Bum", as the NPCs would call him.
