i chose to save the world, but lil Niko... ;^; *sobs*
i feel like my computer has been violated o.o how did you do all that... it's pretty cool though, if used correctly that kind of thing could make a pretty creepy horror game.

There is one horror game which sort of takes advantage of this aspect.

It's called "Imscared - A Pixelated Nightmare".

Within the game, turning on the computer in the Niko's room (and after a few dialogues), the game automatically recognizes my username on the computer (in this case "Juanse") but when I go to interact (for example, with the priest robot) omits the last letter (is organized as "Juans"). I don't know if this error it's by my computer or the game programming, What can i do? :s

Oh hey, it's Yume Nikki.......................... AGAIN.

Who gives a shit? Anyone, anyone could make a game like this in literally a day. There's never any draw because it's all about some crazy, empty "experience" that you're expected to appreciate for all it's meaningless "genius". News flash: we've seen this a million times already by people with absolutely no story-telling ability. You don't need to do it again.
Nobody cares what you think, dude. Obviously some people like this game and games like this. Not sure why you felt the need to post that. In fact...
I couldn't make a game like this is a day.
I'd guess it takes about thirty days to make a game like this, if you really push it.

But I did play it. I also played Yume Nikki and thought it was a boatload of ass.

what the fuck is yume nikki

It's what this game and all other games like it were inspired by. It was a game composed entirely of massive, empty maps that contain powers like turning your head into a lamppost that, upon getting all of them, you give them away, wake up, and swan dive off your balcony. The end.

Lesson learned: real life sucks, dreams are better.

The whole thing can be summed up almost word-for-word from this game's description.

But there's actually less to care about.

I didn't even have to go fishing for that screenshot; that's from fucking Wikipedia.

EDIT: Nightmargin, your avatar is literally just Cave Story, just with (hurr hurr) less effort.

what the fuck is

Sorry, did I just shit on your life?

Also, Jesus, mathew, you could at least give credit to Nightmargin for doing your art and music for you by making him an official co-developer of your game. Give him some of that makerscore love; he could use it.

Yes you did, I am forever in defeat. Oh, whatever shall I do?
Corfaisus, there's no need to be an ass. So you don't like games like this? Then move on. You had a say (all over the place, we get it, you don't like the game).

Honestly, it's not like there are a ton of other games (FF5, FF6 for example) that use the diagonal staircase effect. Or fangame of an indie game - Home for example (OFF fangame). So, you know, stop being a dick about it.

Frankly, I also played both and while there are some themes that are alike, it's not like Yume Nikki at all. Just like a lot of Earthbound-looking games aren't Earthbound.

Actually, FF5 didn't have diagonal stairs.
why have you forsaken me, mother
all I ever wanted was your love
Huh. Could have sworn it did when you went to get the airship. I might be misremembering but hey, Chrono Trigger can take its place. Magus' Castle, running up the stairs doing the ol' Donkey Kong with monsters. Diagonal stairs. It's been used in many games before.
