The Summer Edition, more like I finally was able to put some good time into it and want to get feedback before moving on edition.

So check it, this game is still all about making it up as you go along but with a sprinkling of story driven elements. Consider this, you go to a new land with a goal in mind but there are times when local matters divert your attention. That's basically what you and the MC Riri go through.

This game can be hard or easy/massive or small/shallow or deep, really depending how you go about it, who is a team member, the order of events you choose. Also there is no real road map so yeah, exploration is a key element.

What there is: a lot of little things you can experience differently with different play styles (the world changes how it reacts to you based on how you act, to a certain extent). A heap of medium sized events to tackle, and a couple major things to deal with.

Feedback I'd appreciate:
anything really, critiques, tips etc.
is it fun? do you like the characters? want to see more of them?
overall is there a balance of easy/hard?
did you get lost anywhere?

What I need to do next:
add more of an economy in addition to little quests.
add an area in the towns where you can sit down with party members and chat more.
add the major quest to Nieve/Neige.
put all the sounds on a baseline level, I hate how games are always cranked up to the max so I'm trying to put everything at a lower volume.

Thank You

The most popped of all sensual pop-corns here,

I just looked over the amount of downloads in totality for every version of SKoT I've put out (even those with minor tweaks) and as of writing this it comes out to 285 downloads.

And 4210 profile views, that's a lot. I was amazed when it got 100.

All of that is way more than I ever expected and I really appreciate that people have taken the time to look at the page, decide to give it a chance, download it, and bear through all the headaches that have been in the game. All of that is so great and I really appreciate that random people actually play this game I'm making, for myself really and as a side project, and I'm even more glad that there's been so much positive feedback everywhere and every time I've put out versions.
Although I don't have the constant amount of free time to devote to this, all of your support has really made this something I enjoy coming back to each time more so than otherwise, and putting up with the debugging of it (that stuff is annoying).

And to you 7 subscribers: why?... but seriously, you're awesome.

I look forward to adding more versions and making it even better in the future.

As always,
Stay Sensual and Pop that Corn.

Hello,

I appreciate all the feedback given to me over this demo. I am currently designing more story, plots, decisions and working on bettering the themes on top of learning how to do more complex events/stores/interactions etc.

Thank you all for downloading and playing,

hmm so theres no plot, but rather exploring a world openly like in say the Elder scrolls series?
and its a female lead?
interesting :3
i just finished a game so deciding whats next, will be between this and another :3
I thank you for considering this. Currently I recommend looking at the recent review posted as it captures some of the critiques I have heard.

Yes there is a plot but (and here is where I may not come across clearly):
Through attempting an open world feel the plot is ever changing based on your decisions. Also, the MC's story changes with those decisions. So there is a story in place (yet I haven't explained the back story of the MC much) but because this is more like a prototype it may only appear in plot threads. Although I have placed a lot of plot threads in the prototype.

I hope this sounds clear because I'm trying to eliminate the strict rpg role but still have the MC story alongside the player's "story" eg your decisions and actions. It's kinda like having two plots in the character in the game and the character the player creates. If that makes any bloody sense.

First off congratulations on Getting through this, and I hope you play this yet come away with some critiques or even insight you see into the characters, world, themes, styles etc. So I may understand how others see this.

Thank you

hmm i found a glitch???

the 1st town? old lavos lumber mill, when i enter i spawn on the north side(no matter what part i enter from)
and i cannot move anywhere but north which leaves the area
edit-about the above it seems you can move if you w8 about 4 seconds

seems i did everything? so...
Random thoughts

-This is the 1st game ive played in a while that just went strait into the game,i kinda of like that.espesially after the last one i finished recently

-ok the 1st town lavos lumber,i don't like monsters being there. especially being the 1st town it needs to be normal!
the only time i condone this is when there's a built up storyline for it or its part of a short intro

-that blind....is so annoying lol...

-quite a few places on the world map that you cant go to,makes me sad :(

-Lavos town(left mid castle) is too big, lots of empty space id like it redone if not planning to add more to it.
like half the size would be ok

-bridge in the lavos lumbertown(south end of the city)looks like you should be able to go under it but you cant

-HOLY FNG SHHH those mage snakes! you fight 3 at a time and each one is on boss lvl!

-don't see anything to do :O

unless im missing something, the game currently does not express what the description says

currently i saw
-5 different monsters
-2 accessible areas only 1 of which had 2 people to benefit from interacting with
-alot of unused world map locations
-lack of anything

heck i could be wrong, but this was all i saw theres nothing else to do or see atm far as i can tell.
would play again if was improved by a lot tho :3

unless there is actually a way to continue i was supposed to

go somewhere to the >> and find a mage but nothings there o.o
Starting from the top of your list:

-the mill pause: there are actually a lot of triggers there and before I had to take this production break I couldn't find the cause.

-nice. But I may add a small intro.
- I'm going to edit lumber mill a lot. Make it lighter battles.
- I can change the blind. But I think I'm actually just going to make it one snake.
-as of now there are a total of 5 laces to go. Albeit the Mage quest is kinda a requirement to do that.
-Lavos town is actually going to grow and repopulate as you progress. So depending on which sides who's help those people will move in and the region become prosperous. Technically this story thread is in there but you need to be in the ghost town with The first party member.
-bridge is on my list to do. Just didn't have enough polish time before I had to leave.
-snakes are to be hard but I'm going to lessen the number. I actually purposely made an uneven difficulty plane in this area so no one can just plow through. Plays into the free exploration, but the world is not molded to your level so it forces you to adapt and survive. That's the thought.
-there is supposed to be a good deal. Go back to the crumbling tower next to the mill after speaking to karadas. That gets it moving.

I did play test it multiple times so the quest should be working fine. Though adding more direction is on the top of my list.

Hopefully this clears up a bit of these issues

Thanks for for insight

a bit more this time since there was actually some stuff to do
warning this is probably not going to be positive, but honest and blunt

Random thoughts
*=more important
-=thoughts/improvements

*instead of changing the enemy encounter rate consider having a buy-able item in the store that
either reduces or negates all normal enemy encounters
because you NEED to fight a lot to survive it would also be painful to not get enough battles

*the store,i seriously recommend making the Adventure's Garb cheaper.i don't have a problem with grinding for something
but..you have to keep spending you money on potions to stay alive. there's no other free way to heal i can find
making the armor that you literally NEED pretty much unobtainable
like 1000G for it?(currently 2000)

-if its possible seprate the tower from the lumbermill, people may like me just think its the same place
unless they happen to try or you add signs on the world map

-the chest opens when interact with it tho it says its locked lol XD

*Red orb in crumbling tower does not seem to do anything when grasped,is is supposed to heal you? or a secret?
^if a secret have the character comment on it so the player knows something happened

-the crumbling tower is HORRIBLE, like you need to solve some puzzle that makes no sense and do it while being
harassed by brutal random encounters!

-the red haired guy in the "main?" city i don't get why he walked to the right or why i had to w8 after asking
him if he had a ship. he could of just stoop there and said no lol...

-:O the old lady at the table of 3 transforms if you talk to her from the left or right!

-i don't...understand why there would even be a option to attack the succubus
im feelings some discrimination here :O

-i saved a little girl from a demon....talked to her...and she disappeared...WTF!?

-Fugative? i think you mean Criminal/Fugitive

-if possible having character info on the status screen is nice,i don't know about others but i appreciate it
helps with in game lore

*agreed to kill all the guards, but seems i cant attack the head captain

-i gave up on killing him, went back to the civilian denied his offer sold him out(didn't want too : ( )
after the scene the demon i killed and the little girl is back! (top right)
but i don't have to battle, says i finished whipped my face then they both disappear again XD

v Ghost town stuff
-the lvl of frustration of walking around a huge maze+puzzles with random battles harassing you
is unreal!

-you kill a dragon and some random guy comes out and makes a speech that makes no sense!
what note is he talking about!?

-if you go back the dragon is not only still alive, the guy the...helped? is a enemy down there?(i assume you have to interact with the skeleton for him to appear he was not there b4)

*the 3 switches...
Green allows you to get into the room with the 3 chests
but as far as i can tell yellow and red do nothing(there's no way into the room with
the red book, also if you pull a lvl there is no way to pull another 1

-after killing the dragon going back to town (the red haired guy and purple need dialog improved)
This is the end of the path we can go...for now?
is awkward lol!

-would be cool to upgrade shops as well as the town as you progress(buy better weapons, armor ect)

that said as a overall look

-The game is EXTREMELY grind heavy to the point where you have to be obsessed with crushing the same monsters countless times

-Grammar is mostly ok when its in english(some npcs never speak english)

-puzzles themselves are not complicated but the random battles that disturb you may make it quite frustrating

-there's many glitches, most are miner some that really need to be addressed

-you only have 1 character which her personality is non existent in terms of a normal background
rather your choices in the game are meant to define who you are
how ever there is only 1 major choice which to to attack the guards or not
(and possibly save a disappearing girl?)
that may effect anything.

-the character ability's up to lvl 10
could use some work,i mean you get 2 skills that are defense breaking related,a offense reduce and something to restore power to use them(somewhat uneeded)

Closing

In terms of...what this is aiming for...its a great idea.
the ability to choose things which could effect how people in the world see you
and the world or at least a part of it evolving slowly as you progress is also cool.
but as it currently is
i feel it needs a fair amount of work b4 it will truly be in a worthy state

frankly this type of project should probably have multiple people working on it(too big,a lot of work)
but if enough improvements are made i would not mind trying future versions
due to its potential.

i hope i was not too hard on you,i do my best to give the cold, hard unbiased(as possible for me) honest opinion i can
gl and keep up the good work!
:3
Honestly this is good feedback. I prefer the candid reviews than people saying some general 'good start' business like on my steam page.

Right now I can't go in depth but there are aspects in your list I'm going to revamp entirely or make tweaks.

I have yet another plane to catch so I can't say much now.

Thank you again
How do you unpoison yourself. The things you canby dont clue me which to buy for this. What is it about the 2 piles of wood I see...There seems to be a large number in each but I dont get what is tghe point. I see three or four different languages. Are you supposed to buy potions to keep your health up since I havent found an inn and you dont get money from killing enemies, nor do they drop anything. I found 500$ but other than that no money. No one I talk to helps and a few speak another language.
I must have missed something because all I am doing is walking around and fighting enemies....I am poisoned now and dont know how to cure it.
I have no idea how start a side quest like mentioned in another post....did my dl not work entirely?
This is for most all versions (I recommend having v5 though): Antitodes to cure poison, labeled as such and at the start found in the ruined Mage tower.you open that quest after speaking to the red Guy (karadas) in Lagos town in the main building at the back. (That is basically the tutorial so its mentioned to clue you in to things). Food items are basically food, they heal; some have a subtle reference to upping energy or magic. Most gold is acquired by doing things for people or fighting other people (most monsters don't carry gold because they don't use money).
Also the mage tower puzzle only initiates after speaking to karadas.

Hope this helps.
Nice, these are the type of games I'm looking for. I'll give it a try.
Looking forward (to everything working well) and any feedback you have.
In the ghost town there is a place where it gives the option to take ghost plates and spoons....but although you pick, they dont show up in the inventory.
Also holy illuminations....isnt it supposed to heal blindness in your group? When you pick it, the enemy name shows up.
The jackal dog outside that town....the fairy mentions a spell or something that defeats it....but I am not sure what she is talking about.
I went down into the other part and killed a Shmaug(?)...a dragon. Did that mess anything up by doing that? Also in that same area is a gray metal chest that cant be reached.
In the ghost town when you go down....that door that wont budge,,,the fairy says something about a dragon. I killed it already but it still doesnt open. Plus like I said I also killed that other dragon.
Where is my fourth member? I see him in your images. I have Corndick and the fairy.
Another easter-egg/inside joke I decided to put in as a lens into those characters' personality. I can add an extra line to clarify that.

Yeah that was an oversight on my part, originally that item was going to be something that made enemies flee but I didn't get it to work right so I switched it. Going to fix that now.

Jackal: no that is a subtle way of saying "let it win" (the idea is that it will leave you alone for a sec if it thinks it won giving you time to flee)

metal chest, yeah that was just a stupid oversight on my mapping. fixed it.

that ghost town door it going to be closed until a "level" is complete, the idea is to come back there and get a reward. but i can clarify that.

he is only gotten if you complete a two parts of a side-story. one involves him on the rocky point and one is achieved based on how you complete a quest. also, is that a subtle way of saying I should change the Baron's name?

Ha nope I couldnt remember his name and that he was the Baron.
Also heres a good one. In the ghost town....the item that brings you back to life if you die.....you can get 99 and go sell them and come back for more. I was going to get a lot of money off this but figured there wasnt going to be more more to buy that I wanted in this demo.
In the lumber yard....the note is in CHINESE or something and below some more Chinese or something that says 22.
Also same place those two wells both put you in the same area. I thought the one well put you nest to the next rope but it doesnt.
Do we get a boat in this demo? I was walking around the lower peninsula and there is a boat but you cant use it....in your images thereis a pic of a ship in the same spot you started out in.
There was a girl who wanted to say hello to her sister is Lavcs and I did to the woman I had to kill but there was no response other than gracias.

Hmmmm thats all I can find for now. I cant get anyone to give me more quests so I am thinking I am close to the ending.
"Also heres a good one. In the ghost town....the item that brings you back to life if you die.....you can get 99 and go sell them and come back for more. I was going to get a lot of money off this but figured there wasnt going to be more more to buy that I wanted in this demo." - just a remnant of when I didn't know how to program the switch to delete itself properly. fixed.

"In the lumber yard....the note is in CHINESE or something and below some more Chinese or something that says 22." - one word: elves.

"Also same place those two wells both put you in the same area. I thought the one well put you nest to the next rope but it doesnt." also a remnant from how I originally made that map. fixed.

"Do we get a boat in this demo? I was walking around the lower peninsula and there is a boat but you cant use it....in your images thereis a pic of a ship in the same spot you started out in." to be honest, I haven't updated any screen shots that are not out of date. I changed that due to changing some of the backstory.

"There was a girl who wanted to say hello to her sister is Lavcs and I did to the woman I had to kill but there was no response other than gracias." yeah, you just said hello. In this world, people take that as a kindness.

"Hmmmm thats all I can find for now. I cant get anyone to give me more quests so I am thinking I am close to the ending." - sounds good, thanks again for all the help.
do you have any critiques about things other than what youve already mentioned, such as characters, difficulty (btw it is not supposed to be staggered but somewhat random, however there are conditions making enemies harder based on lvl, actions, decisions, etc), story, other mechanics etc
I like the idea of an open ended game which gives you latitude...at least to a great extent....to do as you wish. But many times, and even now as I was in my posts above....I was completely at a loss as what to do. True there were people who gave me quests and others advice and such but it still seemed too much of a clueless waqlk around. Many times I was lost as to what to do next and would go over areas again and again trying to see what was next. AS you know I asked many a question. I am still not sure if the game is almost done or if there are some other things needing to be accomplished.
Enemies werent too hard. In the lower pwninsulas when it was opened up for exploration, although you do have things to doo in one area....the monsters there were the same ones as above, at least on the world map. I think when you actually have that part done they will be different....I hope. Bats and rats etc were becoming a bit boring. The encounter rate was pretty high and I wished youd had a potion or something to keep them away from you. They certainly helped in getting EXP though.
Your spelling was pretty good actually, with just a few errors. I am always amazed at how brilliant you game makers generally are but cant spell worth a damn even with that new fangled thing called spellcheck. Not everyones forte is spelling but usually there isnt a good reason to have such terrible spelling in a game. Your grammar was pretty good as well.
Your first town was a bit too big (for me anyway) and I never liked going into it...strange because nothing was actually WRONG, it just felt too big.
I like your descriptions of items although mostly they were a bit confusing what they actually did. I am not the brightest player and when things are confusing it makes it more of a chore to play a game.
I am enjoying the game and would have even more if it hadnt been so open ended...or at least more hints and clues. I am looking for your next demo!
Soooo am I almost almost finished with this demo...what are the main things needed to accomplish in this game?

I'll try adding more guiding posts around. As of now Id say the core game is: mage tower, sebille's town, ghost town, the 3 baron quests, and the Muljinar temple. in the two smaller towns and lavos there are smaller events to do.

thats good, i plan on having enemies (somewhat) scale up in later areas. enemy variety is def something im working on as well as balancing out the encounter rate.

Not everyones forte is spelling but usually there isnt a good reason to have such terrible spelling in a game. "Your first town was a bit too big (for me anyway) and I never liked going into it...strange because nothing was actually WRONG, it just felt too big."
now this is interesting because I want a feel of strangeness to match the theme but i feel the size allows me more flexibility to add elements without making 10 versions of one map. so this is something i feel will come up again.

"I like your descriptions of items although mostly they were a bit confusing what they actually did. I am not the brightest player and when things are confusing it makes it more of a chore to play a game." glad to hear and I can tinker with the descriptions, in some recent playtests ive realized even i am not sure what will happen (and im not talking about the hidden sideeffects of certain items)

always glad to hear. as i said above those are the core points to hit. some sidequests really depend on which path youve taken. did you do things such as the potato guy in sebille, have you tried to fight the whole array of fighters in the fighter house, the skill master in the mountains (follow the route), and one i really like is the shimmer quest: in the main town there is a lady at one table (with one guy and little girl) who changes apperance based on how you approach her; after getting going through the skill master, his wife appears in the hovel where the fighters are (first floor), at one point she will make shimmers which you can bring to that first lady (there are several options you can do here and I feel they are drastically different even if they don't effect the game).
