"With Sprinkles" is a cute little game originally intended to be a webcomic.
You play as Vanilla, a forgetful, weird boy and you go on an errand for your roommates(?) Strawberry and Chocolate. Some event is going on you forgot about and they still need some stuff.

Thus you go into the cuddly world and go shopping. The end.
This game has style and is cute, but do not expect any more. There is no deep story, no real action happening, nor are there deep characters.

Instead you get a bustling town with all kinds of amusing characters, animals and silly jokes. Some of them are funny, many are not.
The character you play as is a true oddball .. he is timid, slow and forgetful. Very forgetful. Forgetting everything, including words like "later".
Your friends are more outgoing, friendly and gladly keep up with the little guy.

All important characters are modeled/named after ice cream flavors, in case you have not noticed. The little story there is is also very predictable .. but it is a lighthearted tale nevertheless.

The world is where this game shines. The graphics are all custom-made and are, as you can see, beautiful, warm, and cute. Almost all characters have little animations which make them appear quite lively. They are unfortunately not all likeable people, even the maincharacter himself takes a little bit to warm up to. Yet it is a nice set overall.

There all kinds of small touches, such as the supermarket being crowded before it opens.
You have a couple of small fetchquests to do, but the game gives the whole thing a nice frame and some little variety.
The only downside is that you have to walk across the whole area and that in a very slow manner, but that is not much of a problem.

My personal highlight is the wonderful music. Especially the townmusic with its Japanese vocals is extremely uplifting, catching and cute. I could not stop listening to it. In fact, I am listening to it while I write this review.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it suits the game wonderfully.

The only huge downside of the game is its messy orthography and dialogue boxes .. as well as the slow tempo of it. The box has a striped pattern in the background which is rather distracting and visually unappealing.

This game is a candybox, nothing more. A cute one.
