I made a thing. Enjoy it.

...

... Okay fine. Here's some more info:

As this is the first release, it's probably going to have some issues. I'll certainly correct as many as I can before the presentation I have to give. Any feedback would be appreciated.

This game is RTP INDEPENDANT. You don't need the RTP to enjoy this game (primarily because I'm not going to install RTP on some 40 computers so the others can play it during class). That being said, if the game crashes because there's a resource missing, please let me know.

Other than that, I hope you enjoy the product of exactly two months of work.

Well, one way to figure out whither or not it's RTP-reliant is to take out the "RTP=" line from the INI file, and see how many errors (if any) it throws!

Which, by the way, is exactly what I'm doing right now.

Wait, doesn't that need to be set that way already? Or else, even without the RTP, the game will still look for it and won't run if it's not there?

I did exactly what you said when I uploaded the game, Marrend. But, just as there are many many bugs a single dev can overlook, there might be a missing resource I accidentally forgot to import. I'm just nervous, that's all.

My version has "RTP=RPGVXAce" in the INI file.

As did mine, and I took that line out completely!

Aside: I seem to recall doing this very same thing for Okiku, Star Apprentice in regards to the "full version" to make sure it was RTP-reliant. I may have also used a resource-checker script that Liberty was hawking during... um... some event probably. Damn, I will have to post-hunt that!

I don't get it. I deleted the RPGVXAce part from the line before I compressed it, but I'm looking at it now and it's back.

EDIT: Figured it out.

I took out the line while I still had the project folder open in the editor. When I closed down the program, the line was edited back in. Lesson learned: Take out the line BEFORE opening the project. Derp. Now I have to run through it again to make DOUBLE sure I have all the assets in.

Actually, the same thing happened to me with my very first Luxaren Allure release. I think the RPG Maker put it back in? Though after I deleted it again and made sure that it didn't show up, I never had that problem again.

Now I will have to re-check the full version of Okiku to make absolutely sure it's not there!

Well, not RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND! There's gam to play!

New version of the game is up! Version 1.1 fixes some graphical, dialogue, and passage errors.

Oh, and now I'm SURE the game is RTP independent.
