On a large island in the ocean, there lay a giant ruin of unknown origins and unique features. An adventurous Toad by the name of Mr. Zoad had discovered it, and now he wishes to explore it in search of the Stars within.

By enlisting the Mario team's help, of course!

Castles - Masterpiece Set 2 is a compilation of castle levels in SMBX by the RMN community. The sequel is divided into four areas with a 'theme.'
It's still pretty tough!

~TO INSTALL~
1. If you don't have it, download SMBX (it's free!).
2. Download the gamefile and extract the .zip to the SMBX "worlds" folder.
3. Start up SMBX, click "Start Game" on the splash screen, and you're ready to go!

Holy melons! An Actual Download!?!

I can't believe we're finally releasing this god forsaken thing

How many years has it been now? I mean, this game profile alone went up two years ago
But yes, we finally put our collective heads together and we stand before you will a nice beautiful gam for you to play
It took countless pestering, like once every 5 or 6 months from good ol' Solitayre for us to get our collective asses in gear, so I think we've earned ourselves the Development Hell misao (is that even a thing? I never paid much attention to the misaos) for the whole freakin' decade

Yep. Seems about right.

Welcome to the long outstanding Castles Masterpiece Set 2 event game.
Good game.
I'm assuming there are a total of 20 stars.
I downloaded and played through this episode yesterday. This was a fun episode, though I was a little disappointed that it didn't seem to have a "real" ending; there wasn't really a "final" level or a "final" boss. But the real reason for this post is that during my playthrough, I found some bugs:

-Shroom Sanctuary's music file is missing. The music file name in the editor was "Sonic Gen-Mushroom Hill Act 1.mp3".
-Greenhouse Garrison and Rainy Towers each have 2 stars according to the level hub, but both levels' 2nd stars are completely inaccessible. Greenhouse Garrison's 2nd star is in a blank room in Section 4 on an unchecked layer named "Win", but there is no way into the room. As for Rainy Towers, its 2nd star is in the same room as the 1st star, on an unchecked layer named "Star", but there appears to be no way to trigger this layer's appearance. And even if that star did appear, it wouldn't work properly, as you can't have 2 stars of the same type in the same room. I'm guessing both of these levels abandoned or forgot about their bonus stars?
-Greyocean Spiral crashed before I could even play it. Upon further research, it turned out that the warp path and the level file name weren't the same, as the warp path had an underscore between Greyocean and Spiral, while the level file didn't.
-The start point of Foggy Ferry Fortress was placed right next to the boss door.
-All of the Dry Bones in Brimstone Barracks were placed inside the floor. This resulted in one falling into the lava before I could reach it, and the other two sliding through the floor.

So...that's all from me for now. I was looking forward to this episode for a long time, and I'm glad it finally got released!
I am glad it finally got released too

Oh for god sake, really?

Unfortunately, this bloody thing has gone on for so long that the files were a massive bloody mess and thus I did miss a few things clearly, I don't know when I'll be able to sort it as I'm busy literally all day so... bugger - it'll have to wait

The 524 is for 524 Stone Crabs

Is this still being updated? Particularly after AnimeBryan's LP it's kind of sad to see this in kind of an unpolished state.

If you are still too busy, I've got some free time and I can try to address some of the issues mentioned.

I would have more makerscore If I did things.

I had a plan of such a thing as a sort of redemption bit, but fuck if that ain't taking too long too.
I say go for it, the more versions the better imo.

So be it. I've already fixed the problems brought up (though with things like the missing music I basically just downloaded a new file of the same track to replace it since I no longer have any of this stuff on my hard drive and it doesn't seem to be in the game's files at all). I'm also going to spruce things up a bit to smooth out the flow of gameplay in the hub world and add some end-game content.
