I am...completely floored by this Let's Try/Let's Play to the point where I am nearly in tears of frustration.

You're requesting to skip scenes during your first/second playthrough of a plot-focused game. And despite the fact the game does want you to read the text, because it's a role playing game with a plot focus, you didn't do that, and some how managed to entirely miss several really important points.

You have a flashlight. It is in your Key Items. You are literally told by Levi to turn on your flashlight before entering the darker area of the game. You skipped this text.
You are told entering the last room where you died repeatedly to avoid the encounters. Turn off your flashlight so they can't see you. The torch is mentioned in that dialogue. And you are told to avoid them. That is why it is hard. You are not supposed to be fighting those enemies.

Somehow you died and still managed to miss both these indicators in your effort to rush through the game. The ATB is at a speed where its is at least 4x faster than the average beginning of a Final Fantasy game, as is the movement speed, and you're requesting I speed things up. Along with multiple instances of your critique being entirely personal preference.

If you are going to play a game and give it critique in an effort to get makerscore play the game properly. This is an RPG. If you are going to skip over texts during a section that is effectively a tutorial and an introduction to the plot you deserved to die repeatedly. I'm not making a game to cater to speedrushing through initial playthroughs nor am I making a game to cater to your personal wants in an RPG.

Play the game properly or don't play it at all.

And before I get told off for not taking critique well- I take good critique well. Majority of your complaints in this playthrough were either personal or based on the fact you were rushing through the game and not bothering to read the text in an effort to finish as fast as possible. This is not good critique because it's effectively baseless. I have nothing to work from here and I have a Media submission asking me to fix something that isn't broken.

Yes, there was a lot of my personal opinion in this video.

No, I'm not sorry for it.

+Your game has good mapping
+Your game has good atmosphere
+The animations / lighting in the map are awesome.
+Sound is good quality.

-The ATB is too fast. It doesn't wait while your in items, etc...
-There are no HP bars.
-Can't skip through dialogue.
-Takes too long to reach limit break.

Those are valid points. And I didn't ask you to be sorry for having a personal opinion. I called you out on rushing through and not playing the game properly.

I will probably add a skip cutscene function for later in the game or through repeated runs but at this point? You can save literally anywhere, the demo's main boss has less than 12 words before you engage it, and your determination to skip through the game's plot meant that you died. Twice. Or more.

I do need to add reminders to save that are more explicit than 'this door makes me nervous', I will admit that. However--

the game thinks the story is so important that you should listen to it

Yeah it does. The story is important. Because its a story focused game. I'm not making a Call of Duty title, here. I'm making an RPG. I'm making an episodic RPG that is extremely character focused. The plot is the driving force of this game.

I don't know what you expected opening the first episode of an RPG game but I'm pretty sure world establishment/character relationships/tutorials are a given?

This game has about as much dialogue as the first Reactor bombing mission of Final Fantasy VII. Or the opening sequence of any story-focused game, really.

I'd take your complaint on-board if large cutscenes weren't something I've kept explicitly in mind during the development of this, that I've ruthlessly cut anything that doesn't contribute to the characterization or world building or future plot. I'd take your complaint on-board if I didn't just watch you literally speed-run a game on your first attempt of it. I'd take that critique on-board if it was valid to the genre and you played the game legitimately.

As far as I can see you played the game for the sake of Revive the Dead and not out of any sort of interest, which is fine, but it means I have no reason to consider the complaint about the dialogue legitimate when the game is twenty minutes with it.

And it also means I don't get any sort of feedback when it comes to the actual writing or delivery of the plot, because you had no intention of paying it any mind in the first place.

You are not in anyway obligated to play my game. But if you're going to provide critique like this, give me something to work with as a developer. Please.
I wanna know how does not having HP bars can be considered a bad thing xDDD
Regardless, downloading it asap :v

It's easier to tell if you have low HP with a bar than a number.
You actually have to read the numbers. The bar is easier to visually see.

This is just my opinion.

Normally, this would be a sarcastic joke...but in this case it really is spot on.

You're complaining about the systems and difficulty of the game you didn't even abide by.
What's the point?

This is kind of a mockery of Let's Tries everywhere.

Or is it "Let's Trys"...? It is a proper noun this context. Hmm.

Yeah, normally this wouldn't be a valid point, but... wow. If you're reviewing the game, and you don't read the text, and then have tons of complaints that could have been mitigated if you actually read what the game told you... That's on you as a reviewer, and it's not the game's fault. Wow.
